Overview

What is FlowGent?

FlowGent is a no-code, low-code SaaS platform for building AI agents that live inside messaging channels, with Instagram direct messages as its declared centre of gravity. The pitch is narrow and deliberate: turn the DMs a creator already receives into booked calls, without hiring anyone to watch the inbox.

The core loop runs in four moves. A follower drops a keyword in a public comment, the agent opens a private conversation while attention is still warm, qualifies the person in dialogue, then sends a calendar link once they look like a buyer. Prospects who are not ready are nurtured, and those who go silent are followed up.

What separates it from keyword bots, according to the comparison pages, is that the conversation itself is handled by real large language models — GPT-4 and Claude are named — working from a knowledge base built out of the customer's website, PDFs, Notion pages and YouTube content. The agent is trained on the operator's own material: best-performing DMs, FAQs and voice notes, from which it picks up phrasing, objection handling and tone. It can answer with generated voice notes, dynamic carousels and dynamic images, and it understands inbound voice notes, which Instagram users send a great deal of. Replies are claimed in 95 languages.

Escalation is built in rather than bolted on. When confidence drops or a lead raises something sensitive, the agent pauses and hands the thread to a human with its context attached. Automations can be paused, and any conversation taken over manually.

The same trained agent serves Instagram, WhatsApp, Slack and web chat from one shared brain, playbooks and knowledge base. A public REST API, version 2, allows agents to be created and configured programmatically, messages to be sent and activity to be monitored.

The publisher is FlowGent AI, a trade name of THE DB GROUP, LLC., in Sheridan, Wyoming; the domain dates from August 2024. The homepage claims 12,400 creators and coaches, a 90% DM open rate and 50% lead-to-call conversion — figures published without any source or methodology. A multi-client offer for agencies is announced but still marked coming soon.

When to use FlowGent

  • Content creators and coaches whose Instagram DMs have outgrown what they can answer by hand
  • Online course sellers running keyword-in-comment launches that need an instant next step
  • Coaching and service businesses whose sales cycle ends in a booked phone call
  • Small DM setter teams needing shared context, escalation rules and up to five seats
  • Ecommerce and local businesses taking enquiries or bookings through Instagram and WhatsApp

When not to use FlowGent

  • Anyone looking for a permanently free tool: the cheapest paid entry point is $19 per month after a seven-day trial
  • Buyers expecting AI conversations on the entry plan, which ships with zero AI credits and automates flows only
  • High-volume operations, since message credits are capped per tier and overages are billed as paid add-ons

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Low entry price for the segment at $19 per month, with unlimited contacts on every tier
  • AI included from the Hobby tier rather than sold as a separate add-on
  • Genuinely multi-channel from a single agent, with context shared across inboxes
  • Unusually clear data posture: EU hosting, five named subprocessors, a categorical no-training commitment, a DPA on request and a designated DPO
  • Human escalation is native and carries the conversation context with it
  • Setup announced in under fifteen minutes, with no mandatory demo call
  • Documented public REST API and a published list of integrations

Cons

  • No permanently free plan; the trial lasts seven days
  • The entry tier ships with zero AI credits, so real AI conversations start at $49 per month
  • Message credit quotas are modest per tier and overages are billed as separate add-ons
  • A single agent is included up to and including the Standard tier
  • The privacy policy, dated August 2023, is generic, refers to order processing and contradicts the 2026 GDPR page
  • The terms allow suspension and deletion of data at any time without notice or refund, and soft quotas override anything advertised as unlimited
  • Headline performance figures are published without sources, and no security certification exists

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how FlowGent handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is addressed on a dedicated page, last updated on 11 August 2026, and the treatment is concrete rather than declaratory. Roles are assigned explicitly: the customer is controller for chat content, FlowGent is processor, and FlowGent is controller for its own analytics and billing. Each processing purpose carries a stated legal basis, from contract performance to legitimate interest. The six data subject rights are listed by name, deletion and export requests are answered within thirty days, and a pre-signed data processing agreement is supplied on request. A data protection officer is designated. Data is announced as living entirely in the EU, on AWS Frankfurt, with five named subprocessors. No Article 27 EU representative is named anywhere, and the phrase GDPR compliant is never used as such. The separate privacy policy, dated 2023, is generic and does not match this page.

Who owns the data?

The terms draw a clear line. THE DB GROUP, LLC. owns the FlowGent service and the intellectual property attached to it. The customer owns the content they submit and, notably, the transcripts and other outputs their agents generate, subject to third-party rights. In exchange, the customer grants the vendor the licences needed to operate and improve the service, a broad wording that is not narrowed further. The GDPR page restates the split in regulatory terms: the customer is data controller for whatever visitors type into chats, FlowGent is processor for that chat content, and FlowGent is controller for its own site analytics and billing records.

Reuse rights

Customers may reuse what their agents produce without asking permission. The terms state that the transcripts and other outputs an agent generates belong to the customer, alongside the content they submitted, with no approval step and no restriction on commercial use beyond third-party rights. The counterpart is the licence the customer grants the vendor to operate and improve the service, which is not bounded further in the text. On the vendor's side the stated use is narrower than that wording suggests: the GDPR page commits categorically that no customer data is ever used for model training or for marketing, and describes the calls made to OpenAI and Anthropic as stateless, with nothing stored.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Retention is described in principle rather than in numbers. The GDPR page states that data is deleted on request, or once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, and that deletion and export requests are handled within thirty days. Three categories are kept: chat content and per-channel identifiers, account and billing details, and product usage events carrying no end-user personal data. No retention period is given for any of them, and no anonymisation process is described. Payment details are not stored on FlowGent's own servers, being handled by third-party processors instead. Separately, the terms allow the vendor to delete a customer's data on termination at any time and without notice, which sits awkwardly beside the request-based deletion promise.

Hosting summary

FlowGent states that all customer data lives in the European Union, hosted on AWS in Frankfurt, region eu-central-1. Five subprocessors are named: AWS for infrastructure, Vercel for static and edge hosting, DigitalOcean for server infrastructure, OpenAI and Anthropic for stateless LLM calls, and PostHog EU for product analytics. Of these, Vercel, DigitalOcean, OpenAI and Anthropic are all described as storing no data. The security measures listed are encryption in transit, multi-factor authentication for internal access and least-privilege rules. Two caveats deserve attention. The publisher, THE DB GROUP, LLC., is a United States company governed by Wyoming law with exclusive jurisdiction in Sheridan County, so an EU hosting location does not by itself remove US legal exposure. And the website's own DNS resolves to an anycast address geolocated in the United States, which concerns delivery of the marketing site rather than the storage of chat data. No hosting or security certification, such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, is published anywhere on the site.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting FlowGent.

  • Replies written in your trained voice can leave followers believing they are talking to you personally; the site never requires that the automation be disclosed to the person on the other end
  • Delegating qualification and objection handling erodes the operator's own selling instinct and their direct feel for what customers actually ask
  • Chat content includes whatever prospects volunteer, including personal, financial or health details, stored by a third party the follower never chose
  • The terms allow the vendor to suspend an account and delete its data at any time, for any reason and without refund, leaving a business built on the agent with no contractual safety net
  • Features advertised as unlimited are governed by discretionary soft quotas that can throttle traffic, impose provisional limits or force an upgrade
  • Message credits tie the real monthly cost to conversation volume, which is precisely what a successful campaign increases
  • The service sits on top of Instagram, WhatsApp and Slack, so a policy change by any of those platforms can disable it overnight
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for the intended path. FlowGent presents itself as a no-code, low-code platform: connect a channel, upload existing DMs, FAQs and voice notes to train the agent, then set the keyword triggers. The site claims most comment-to-DM and appointment workflows are connected, trained and tested in under fifteen minutes, and the comparison page promises a live Instagram agent in under thirty, with no demo call. Difficulty rises for advanced use: custom tools, the HTTP module, web scraping and the public REST API all assume genuine technical comfort.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is FlowGent just keyword automation?
No. A keyword typed in a comment can start a workflow, but the conversation itself is handled by an AI agent trained on your business, your FAQs and your voice. The comparison pages name GPT-4 and Claude as the underlying models.
Can I review conversations before the AI replies?
Yes. You can pause automations, set escalation rules and take over any thread manually. The agent also escalates on its own when its confidence drops or a lead raises something sensitive, passing the human the full context.
Does it only work on Instagram?
Instagram is the declared priority, but the same trained agent also runs on WhatsApp, Slack and web chat, sharing one knowledge base and one set of playbooks across all of them.
Is there a free plan?
No. There is a seven-day free trial with cancellation at any time, after which the cheapest paid tier is $19 per month. Note that this Starter tier includes zero AI credits and automates flows only; AI conversations begin at $49 per month.
How long does setup take?
The site states that most comment-to-DM and appointment workflows can be connected, trained and tested in under fifteen minutes, and the comparison page promises a live Instagram agent in under thirty minutes with no demo call required.
Where is my data hosted?
On AWS in Frankfurt, region eu-central-1. The GDPR page states that all data lives in the EU. Five subprocessors are named: AWS, Vercel, DigitalOcean, OpenAI and Anthropic, and PostHog EU.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. The GDPR page commits categorically that no customer data is used for model training or marketing, and describes the calls made to OpenAI and Anthropic as stateless, storing nothing.
Can I get a data processing agreement?
Yes. A pre-signed DPA is sent on request for electronic signature, and a data protection officer is designated as the contact for data protection questions. Deletion and export requests are handled within thirty days.
Is there an API and a mobile app?
There is a public REST API, version 2, authenticated with an API key, which lets you create and configure agents, send messages, monitor activity and send templated WhatsApp messages. No native mobile app was found on the site.
What is the minimum age to use FlowGent?
The terms of service require users to be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts. The privacy policy separately states the service is not intended for children under 13, so the two documents set different thresholds.
Conclusion

Should you pick FlowGent?

FlowGent is an openly niche product, and that is its main strength. Rather than another general-purpose chatbot builder, it automates one commercial motion: turning Instagram comments and DMs into booked calls, then extends the same agent to WhatsApp, Slack and web chat. For creators and coaches whose inbox has outgrown them, the fit is direct.

The economics are readable. Nineteen dollars a month buys the comment-to-DM machinery, unlimited contacts sit on every tier, and AI is included from the second tier instead of being sold as a surcharge. The catch is worth stating plainly: the entry plan carries zero AI credits, so genuine AI conversations begin at $49, and message credits mean the real monthly cost rises with the very success the tool is sold on.

Its data posture beats the segment average: hosting announced entirely in the EU on AWS Frankfurt, five named subprocessors, a pre-signed DPA, a designated data protection officer, and a categorical commitment never to train on customer data.

The reservations are documentary rather than technical. The legal pages are of very uneven quality: a precise, recent GDPR page sits alongside a generic 2023 privacy policy that still talks about order processing, and terms that let the vendor suspend an account and delete its data at any time, for any reason, without refund. Age thresholds contradict each other between the two documents. The headline numbers — 90% open rates, 50% conversion, five times more leads — carry no source at all and should be read as sales copy.

The publisher is small and young: a Wyoming LLC behind a domain registered in August 2024, with no known funding. For a low monthly commitment on a well-defined job, that is a reasonable bet; for a business-critical dependency, the terms deserve a careful read first.
