Overview

What is Forsnaps?

Forsnaps is a cloud ERP aimed squarely at construction companies operating in Portugal. Everything is organised around the obra, the individual building project. Budgets are drawn up hierarchically by chapter and measured item with quantities and unit rates; works are planned as Gantt schedules with critical-path analysis; and interim valuations, the autos de medição that govern payment in Portuguese construction, are produced item by item, sent for approval and converted directly into invoices. Cost control runs alongside, comparing committed spend against budget with S-curves and variance reports by chapter.

The functional footprint is broad. Beyond budgeting and valuations it covers materials stock across multiple yards and warehouses with requisitions and supplier deliveries, plant and vehicle fleet management with preventive maintenance and operator certificates, site labour with attendance, timesheets and Portuguese payroll, subcontractor contracts with retention handling, and occupational safety with health and safety plans, checklist inspections and accident records.

What distinguishes it from a generic ERP is the depth of Portuguese regulatory work built in. The platform generates SAF-T (PT) files, handles ATCUD and certified electronic invoicing, applies the construction VAT reverse charge and price revision under Decree-Law 6/2004, produces the mandatory IMPIC communications as XML and CSV, and collects public tender notices daily from the Portal BASE.

The AI layer is integrated rather than bolted on. An assistant, presented as the Balcão IA, sits in a right-hand panel and accepts requests in natural Portuguese. It can look up records, navigate between modules, generate reports and create or amend records, always asking for explicit confirmation before it acts, and it operates strictly within the permissions of the user who invoked it. Voice dictation and image or PDF attachments are supported. The assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 and is included in every plan, subject to a monthly fair-use allowance.

Access is through any modern browser, and the application can be installed on a phone from the browser as a progressive web app that works offline and syncs when connectivity returns. Each customer is served on its own subdomain.

What it does

  • Produce interim valuations (autos de medição) item by item and turn them into certified invoices
  • Build hierarchical budgets by chapter and measured item with quantities and unit rates
  • Track real cost against budget per project, with S-curves and variance by chapter
  • Schedule works as a Gantt chart with critical-path analysis and physical progress tracking
  • Run the system by asking the AI assistant in Portuguese, which executes actions on confirmation
  • File IMPIC returns and SAF-T declarations, and monitor Portal BASE public tenders daily
  • Manage site labour, subcontractors, materials stock and plant maintenance per project

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Portuguese regulatory work is built in rather than added on: SAF-T, ATCUD, IMPIC, ACT and price revision
  • The AI assistant is included in every plan at no compulsory extra cost
  • One per-user price unlocks every module, with no per-module fees claimed
  • A separate, inexpensive seat for site workers at EUR 6 per month keeps field coverage affordable
  • The progressive web app works offline on site and syncs when the network returns
  • Hosting and support are stated to be in Portugal, in Portuguese
  • The 15-day trial requires no credit card and unlocks all features

Cons

  • The AI allowance is capped: past roughly EUR 4.50 of usage per user each month the assistant stops until the next month, with top-ups charged at EUR 6 or EUR 18 per user
  • The published terms and privacy policy cover the trial only; no contract is published for a paid subscription
  • The site contradicts itself on how many modules are included, quoting 200, 280+ and 50+ on different pages
  • The pricing page still advertises a stale entry price of EUR 7.99 in its meta title and description
  • AT certification of the invoicing software is claimed without a certificate number or certifying body
  • No subprocessor list, no data processing agreement, and no statement on whether customer data trains AI models
  • No public API, no native store apps, and no social or third-party review presence to corroborate claims
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

There is no permanently free plan; the only free access is a 15-day trial that requires no credit card. Paid access is a per-user subscription with Portuguese VAT already included in the advertised figures. The entry point is EUR 29 per management user per month, falling to EUR 23.20 per month on annual billing. A cheaper site-worker seat is available at EUR 6 per worker per month, or EUR 4.80 annually, but it cannot be bought on its own: every subscription must include at least one management user, so EUR 29 per month is the true minimum. Each user receives a monthly AI allowance worth roughly EUR 4.50 of usage; larger allowances cost EUR 6 or EUR 18 more per user per month.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Forsnaps handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly and repeatedly, on the homepage, the About page and in the documentation. The privacy policy, last updated 19 February 2026, names a lawful basis (consent at registration plus performance of the trial contract) and lists the rights available: access, rectification, erasure, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority, all exercised through info@forsnaps.com. Cookies are described as strictly necessary, with no tracking or advertising cookies without explicit consent. Portuguese law governs the contract and Portuguese courts have exclusive jurisdiction. As the publisher is established in Portugal, no Article 27 representative is required. No data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is offered, and no transfer mechanism outside the EEA is described.

Who owns the data?

The terms of service state plainly that the customer owns the data they enter into the platform. Forsnaps retains ownership of the software, content and technology it supplies, granting only a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the service. Customers can extract their own records at any time as Excel or CSV from any list view, and accounting reports as PDF or SAF-T. One important limitation: the published terms and privacy policy, both dated 19 February 2026, are written for the free trial rather than for a paid subscription, so the contractual position of a paying customer is not set out in any document available on the site.

Reuse rights

Registration data comprises full name, email address, company name, telephone number and country, alongside technical data such as IP address and browser type. Forsnaps states it uses this to create and manage the trial account, send access credentials and expiry reminders, provide customer support and improve the service, relying on consent given at sign-up and on performance of the trial agreement. The company undertakes not to sell or share personal data with third parties except where required by law or necessary to deliver the service, citing transactional email providers as its only example. No list of subprocessors is published. Customers may reuse and export their own records freely. Nothing on the site addresses whether customer data is used to train AI models.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
During a trial, personal data is kept for the length of the trial and for 30 days after it ends, unless earlier deletion is requested or the account converts to a paid plan. The terms describe the same window from the account side: once the 15 days expire the account is suspended, leaving 30 days to export data or upgrade, after which all data is permanently deleted. Automatic daily backups are mentioned in the documentation, with no stated backup retention period. No retention period is published for an active paying subscription, because the available policy documents are written for the trial rather than the subscription.

Hosting summary

Forsnaps states that its infrastructure is in Portugal, describing Portuguese cloud hosting and servers located in the country, and says that customer data therefore remains under European jurisdiction. The About page repeats this as data in the EU. The documentation adds that data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and TLS and at rest, and that automatic backups run daily. These are vendor statements and cannot be confirmed from outside: the public website itself is delivered through Cloudflare, whose resolved address is an anycast edge node rather than an origin server, and the domain is registered through a German registrar. Neither fact tells you where the application platform actually runs. No hosting subprocessor is named anywhere on the site, and no list of subprocessors is published, so the hosting claim rests entirely on the vendor's own assertion.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Forsnaps.

  • The assistant can create and amend records across the whole database; confirmation prompts are the only safeguard, so approving them by reflex can push wrong data into live projects
  • Leaning on natural-language queries for cost and progress figures can erode the habit of checking budgets and valuations directly, in a trade where a measurement error becomes a payment dispute
  • The published terms and privacy policy cover the trial only, so a paying customer's rights over their data rest on documents that have not been made public
  • Nothing on the site states whether customer data is used to train AI models, and no opt-out is described, which is a material unknown for commercially sensitive project and payroll data
  • The AI allowance stops mid-month once exhausted; teams that build a workflow around the assistant can lose it at the worst moment unless they pay for a top-up
  • Screenshots throughout the site use fictitious projects, staff and amounts, so figures seen in marketing material should never be read as benchmarks
  • The publisher is a very small, recently incorporated company with no subprocessor disclosure and no independent reviews, which concentrates operational and continuity risk on a single vendor
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. Forsnaps advertises being operational in minutes with no installation and no IT team, and the trial account is active immediately after the sign-up form. Access is through a browser, and mobile installation is simply adding the page to the home screen. Only one genuinely technical step exists: creating a sub-user in the Portal das Finanças with the invoice-series web service permission so that invoices are certified. That takes about five minutes, is done once, and can be deferred. Guided onboarding sessions covering cost centres, budget templates and data import are offered.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long is the free trial and does it need a credit card?
The trial runs for 15 days from registration and unlocks every feature. No credit card is required and nothing is charged automatically when it ends.
What does Forsnaps cost once the trial ends?
EUR 29 per management user per month with VAT included, or EUR 23.20 on annual billing. Site-worker seats are EUR 6 per month, or EUR 4.80 annually. Every subscription must include at least one management user, so EUR 29 per month is the practical minimum.
What happens to my data when the trial expires?
The account is suspended and you have 30 days to export your data or move to a paid plan. After that period all data is permanently deleted.
Is there a mobile app to download?
No. Forsnaps is installed from the browser as a progressive web app using Add to Home Screen, deliberately bypassing the App Store and Google Play. It works offline and synchronises when the connection returns.
How do invoices become certified with the Portuguese tax authority?
You create a sub-user in the Portal das Finanças and grant it the WSE permission for communicating invoice series by web service, then pass the identifier and password to Forsnaps. It takes about five minutes, is done once, and thereafter series and ATCUD are communicated automatically.
Where is my data hosted?
Forsnaps states that its servers are in Portugal and that data stays under European jurisdiction. It also describes encryption in transit and at rest and daily automatic backups. These are vendor statements and cannot be verified from outside.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Any list view offers an Export button producing Excel or CSV, and accounting reports can be exported as PDF or SAF-T.
What can the AI assistant actually do?
It answers questions about your records, navigates the system, produces reports, and creates or amends records. Actions always require your explicit confirmation, and the assistant only sees and changes what your own permissions allow.
Does Forsnaps offer a public API?
No API documentation is published anywhere on the site, and no integration endpoints are offered to customers.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari.
Conclusion

Should you pick Forsnaps?

Forsnaps is a narrowly aimed product, and that is its main strength. Rather than offering a generic project tool, it encodes the specific machinery of Portuguese construction: interim valuations, certified invoicing with ATCUD, SAF-T returns, IMPIC filings, the construction VAT reverse charge and price revision under Decree-Law 6/2004. For a contractor operating in Portugal that combination is difficult to assemble from general-purpose software, and the daily monitoring of Portal BASE tenders is a genuinely useful addition. The AI assistant is unusual at this price: it executes actions inside the ERP rather than merely answering questions, always with explicit confirmation and within the invoking user's permissions.

The reservations are about maturity and transparency rather than function. The publisher is very young, incorporated on 5 August 2025 as a single-shareholder company with EUR 5,000 of capital. The published terms and privacy policy are written for the free trial and no contract covers a paying subscription. There is no subprocessor list, no data processing agreement, and nothing at all said about whether customer data is used to train AI models, which matters more than usual for a tool whose assistant reads the whole database. Certification by the tax authority is claimed without a certificate number, the site contradicts itself on module counts, and the pricing page still carries an obsolete entry price in its metadata. The AI allowance is also capped, and heavier use is chargeable.

For a Portuguese construction firm willing to trial it and press for contractual detail, Forsnaps is worth evaluating. Outside Portugal it has very little to offer, since both the compliance layer and the payment rails are local.
