Overview

What is Guidde?

Guidde is an AI video documentation platform that turns a recorded screen workflow into a narrated tutorial video and a matching step-by-step document. You capture a process once, through the Chrome or Edge extension, the Windows or macOS desktop app, or a mobile browser, and the platform writes the script, generates an AI voiceover, adds captions and highlights, and assembles the result. The company positions the product as the first AI Digital Adoption Platform and claims documentation is produced eleven times faster than with conventional video tooling.

The product ships in two modules. Create handles production: subject-matter experts record what they already do, then refine the wording, swap voices, blur sensitive regions and apply a brand kit in a drag-and-drop editor organised around the script rather than a timeline. Broadcast handles delivery, embedding guidance inside the applications people already work in, with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Zendesk and Confluence named on the site, so help surfaces in the flow of work instead of in a separate portal.

Typical deployments cover employee onboarding, customer education, standard operating procedures, enterprise software rollouts such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot and Workday, and internal AI adoption programmes. Output travels as shareable links, customer portals, knowledge-base articles, MP4, GIF, PPT and PDF exports, or SCORM packages for a learning management system. Voiceover runs to 400 lifelike voices across more than 50 languages, with voice cloning and AI avatars sold as add-ons.

Guidde reports more than 200,000 users, over 5,000 customers, upwards of 500 million video minutes created and $80 million raised. Security posture is SOC 2 Type 2, with hosting on Google Cloud Platform across several availability zones, AES-256 encryption at rest, SAML single sign-on and annual penetration testing. The terms of service state plainly that customer content is never used to train AI models, and a dated sub-processor list is published. The limits are equally plain: no native mobile app, no public API documentation, and no data processing agreement on the site.

What it does

  • Record any web, desktop or mobile-browser workflow and get a finished video guide automatically
  • Generate a structured step-by-step script from the recording, with no writing required
  • Add an AI voiceover from 400+ lifelike voices across more than 50 languages
  • Produce a shareable step-by-step document alongside the video from the same capture
  • Blur or automatically redact personally identifiable information before publishing
  • Convert an existing PDF, PPT, DOCX or MP4 file into a video walkthrough
  • Deliver guidance inside Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, Zendesk or Confluence with Broadcast
Audience

When to use Guidde / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Guidde is the right fit.

When to use Guidde

  • Learning and development teams producing training content at volume under compliance constraints
  • Customer support and help-centre teams that want video tutorials to deflect repetitive tickets
  • Technical writers and documentation managers maintaining how-to guides that go stale when a UI changes
  • Enterprise IT and change teams rolling out Salesforce, SAP, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow or Dynamics 365
  • Product, sales enablement and customer success teams that need repeatable, always-current product demos

When not to use Guidde

  • Anyone needing a general-purpose video editor: the editor is deliberately light and script-driven, not timeline-based
  • Teams that require a native mobile app, since mobile capture only runs through the phone's browser
  • Developers looking to drive documentation from code, as no public API documentation is published
  • Organisations whose procurement requires a signed data processing agreement, which Guidde does not publish
  • Buyers who need a specific output language guaranteed up front, since the 50+ languages are never listed
Get started

How to use Guidde

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Sign up at app.guidde.co, no credit card required, and open your workspace
  2. Install the Chrome extension or the Edge add-on, or download the Windows or macOS desktop app for full-screen capture
  3. Optionally pick an output template before recording so the platform produces a video, a document, or both
  4. Hit record and click through the workflow exactly as you normally would, then stop
  5. Let the AI write the step-by-step script from what it captured and apply an automatic voiceover
  6. Speak naturally during capture with Magic Mic if you prefer: your speech is transcribed, cleaned up and turned into the narration
  7. Review the draft in the editor: adjust wording, change the AI voice, reorder or delete steps, insert shapes and links
  8. Blur or redact anything sensitive on screen and apply your brand kit, colours and fonts
  9. Publish with a shareable link, embed it in your wiki, CRM or help centre, or export to MP4, GIF, PPT, PDF or SCORM
  10. Track watch time, engagement and viewer activity, and export the figures to CSV

Cons

  • No native mobile app: capturing on a phone means going through the mobile browser
  • No public API documentation, despite the terms of service listing APIs as part of the service
  • No data processing agreement is published or offered anywhere on the site
  • No Article 27 EU representative is designated, and the Data Privacy Framework listing the site links to is flagged inactive

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Guidde handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is addressed concretely rather than in passing. The privacy policy, last updated 31 July 2026, sets out the lawful bases relied on and grants the full set of rights: access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, objection to profiling, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority. Requests go to hello@guidde.co. Transfers rest on Article 45 adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses and an intra-group agreement, and Guidde Inc is certified to the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks, with JAMS as independent recourse. A dated sub-processor list is published. Three gaps deserve naming: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data protection officer is identified, and no data processing agreement appears anywhere on the site. Do Not Track signals are explicitly not honoured.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of service the customer is the exclusive owner of everything it uploads and of the output Guidde generates from it, intellectual property rights included. Guidde takes only a licence to use that material for the duration of the contract and for the purpose of running the service; the licence is sublicensable to its affiliates, hosting providers and sub-processors, and it ends with the agreement. Separately, Guidde owns the service itself, any feedback submitted, and the usage statistics derived from customers, meaning metadata, query logs and aggregated analytics, which it may turn into benchmarks and models. After termination it has no obligation to keep customer content available.

Reuse rights

Customers can reuse what they create without asking Guidde. They own the videos, the documents and the exports, and are free to publish, embed, export or commercialise them. Guidde's own use is narrower and contractually bounded: it commits not to use customer content to train any artificial intelligence model or system, and not to disclose it to third parties other than its affiliates, sub-processors and subcontractors, under equivalent confidentiality obligations, for the sole purpose of delivering the service. Personal data is processed for service delivery, support, personalisation, marketing where consent is given, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Google user data obtained through the Google Drive integration is never sold. What Guidde keeps for itself is anonymised or aggregated: usage statistics that identify nobody remain its property and may feed industry benchmarks and internal models.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Guidde publishes rules but no clock. Personal data is kept until Guidde deletes the record or the user submits a valid deletion request, and may be held longer to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, to keep an accurate record in case of a complaint, or where litigation is reasonably foreseeable. Accounts are deleted on request by emailing hello@guidde.co, but anything made public before deletion stays stored and publicly reachable. Once a contract ends, Guidde has no obligation to keep customer content available, so exports should be taken beforehand. Engagement analytics are retained for 30 days on Business and 180 days on Enterprise. Cookie retention is deferred to the cookie policy. No numeric retention period is published for the recordings themselves.

Hosting summary

Guidde states that its services and data are hosted in Google Cloud Platform facilities, spread across several GCP availability zones so the platform survives the loss of any single data centre. The security page names no country. The published sub-processor list, last updated 16 October 2025, is more specific: Google LLC handles cloud data storage and analytics from the US and the EU, Microsoft Corporation provides cloud data and AI services from the US and the EU, and Algolia runs search and analytics from the US and the EU. OpenAI, HeyGen and ElevenLabs are listed as US-only. Guidde Knowldge Ltd., the group's Israeli entity, is listed as providing the service from Israel, and the privacy policy separately notes that personal data is accessed from Israel under an Article 45 adequacy decision. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and 256-bit encryption in transit, and audit logs are archived on GCP. No page states in plain terms which country a given customer's recordings live in, and no regional data residency option is advertised.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Guidde.

  • Screen capture records whatever is on screen: a single recording made on a live account can expose real customer data
  • Automatic PII redaction and its enforcement are Enterprise-only, so on cheaper plans the burden of catching sensitive data falls on the person recording
  • The terms of service forbid uploading sensitive data such as health, payment card or special-category information, shifting that liability to the customer
  • Guidde has no obligation to make your content available after the contract ends, so exports must be taken before termination
  • The Data Privacy Framework certification displayed on the site links to a record whose URL is marked inactive, which is worth verifying before relying on it
  • AI-generated narration can sound authoritative while describing a step incorrectly, and a polished voice discourages the review that a rough draft would invite
  • Making documentation cheap encourages producing more of it, and an unmaintained library of confident-sounding videos misleads staff more effectively than no library at all
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for an individual. Sign-up is self-service, needs no credit card, and the site claims a workspace is ready in minutes; recording requires only the Chrome extension or Edge add-on, and no video or design skill. The desktop capture app is a separate download: .exe for Windows 10+, .dmg for macOS 11+ on Apple Silicon or Intel. Enterprise deployment is heavier and involves IT: single sign-on with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or 1Login, SCIM provisioning, and in-app Broadcast delivery through the embedded Guidde Inside SDK. Custom onboarding and a dedicated success manager come with that tier.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I try Guidde before paying?
Yes. There is a seven-day Business trial with no credit card required, and a permanent free plan for up to 25 how-to videos. A few features, MP4 export among them, need an active paid subscription.
What happens when the trial ends?
The account moves automatically to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: all your videos stay intact, but editing is limited to the last 25.
Does every user need a paid seat?
No. Only Admins, Content Managers and Creators consume a paid seat. Viewers can be added to the workspace at no extra cost.
Is my content used to train AI models?
No. The terms of service state that Guidde will not use any customer content to train artificial intelligence models or systems, and will not disclose it to third parties beyond its affiliates, sub-processors and subcontractors under confidentiality obligations.
Who owns the videos I create?
You do. The customer is the exclusive owner of the content it uploads and of the output Guidde generates from it. Guidde holds only a licence to use that material while the contract runs, in order to deliver the service.
What security certifications does Guidde hold?
Guidde is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant. Services and data are hosted on Google Cloud Platform across multiple availability zones, with AES-256 encryption at rest, 256-bit encryption in transit, SAML single sign-on, two-factor authentication and annual third-party penetration tests.
Is there a mobile app?
No native one. Mobile capture runs through the phone's browser, with no install needed. Desktop apps are available for Windows 10 and later and macOS 11 and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.
How many languages are supported?
More than 50 output languages and over 400 AI voices are advertised, but the site never lists which languages these are, so a specific language cannot be confirmed before trying the product.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, eighteen. The privacy policy states that Guidde does not offer its products or services for use by children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen.
Are sub-processors disclosed?
Yes. A dated list is published on the site, naming Google LLC, Microsoft Corporation, Algolia, OpenAI, HeyGen, ElevenLabs and the group's Israeli entity, each with its purpose and location.
Conclusion

Should you pick Guidde?

Guidde solves a narrow problem thoroughly. If your organisation keeps rewriting the same how-to content because a user interface moved, the ability to re-record a workflow and have the script, voiceover, captions and a matching document regenerate in minutes is worth real money. The dual output is the differentiator: one capture yields both a video and a written guide, which is precisely what help centres and learning management systems each need in their own format.

The legal groundwork is better than average for this category. The terms of service state outright that customer content is never used to train AI models, ownership of both input and output stays with the customer, and a dated sub-processor list names every third party involved, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, HeyGen and Microsoft included. SOC 2 Type 2, AES-256 encryption and SAML single sign-on round out a credible security posture.

Where it gets harder is the commercial shape. The features that make Guidde defensible in an enterprise, single sign-on, SCIM, automatic PII redaction, multi-language translation and in-app Broadcast delivery, are all held behind an Enterprise quote. Free and Pro users are limited to web capture. Billing defaults to annual and payments are non-refundable. Procurement teams should also note the absence of a published data processing agreement, the lack of an Article 27 EU representative, and a Data Privacy Framework link the site itself flags as inactive.

Verdict: a strong fit for support, enablement and learning teams documenting software at volume, especially where subject-matter experts outnumber video producers. Smaller teams should test whether the web-only capture of the cheaper plans is enough before committing to a year.
