What is HandtextAI?
HandtextAI is a handwriting generator built for one narrow, clearly stated job: taking text that already exists and making it look handwritten. It does not compose anything. You paste a draft, or import a PDF, DOCX, PPTX or image, into a rich web editor that accepts headings, lists, tables, images and LaTeX maths, then decide how the finished page should look.
Two output paths split the product. Print mode produces flat, printable pages with real paper styles (plain, lined, ruled, grid, exercise book) across A3 to A6, US Letter, Legal, Tabloid and JIS B5. Photo mode drops the handwriting into a notebook or desk scene, for when the photographed look is itself part of the result. Realism is tuned rather than automatic. You choose among 95 handwriting fonts, set font size, line height, letter and word spacing and margins, then layer ink-flow variation, paper texture, blur, shading and rotation. Premium subscribers can upload a font made from their own handwriting; for building that file the site points to Calligraphr, a free third-party tool.
The published limits are refreshingly concrete: 700,000 characters of document text, PDFs up to 500 pages, 20 MB per page image and 120 MB per download. Each generated page costs one page credit, and plans cap monthly output at 150, 600 or 2,000 pages.

GDPR overview
The GDPR is never named. Neither "GDPR" nor "General Data Protection Regulation" appears anywhere on the site, there is no data processing agreement, no Article 27 representative and no designated data protection officer. What HandtextAI publishes instead is the regulation's vocabulary without its label: the privacy policy, effective 24 May 2026, sets out legal bases for processing (contract performance, legitimate interests, consent and legal obligations) and states that residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent "where applicable". Who owns the data?
HandtextAI's terms state that you keep whatever rights you already hold in your User Content: the text, formatting, images, documents, fonts, prompts, settings and generated pages you put through the editor. In exchange you grant the vendor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit, display, store, modify and create generated output from that content, but only as far as providing, securing, maintaining, improving and supporting the service requires. Content passes through named providers along the way: Google for sign-in, Stripe for billing, Resend for email, Sentry for diagnostics, plus unnamed AI model and OCR providers for optional features. HandtextAI itself owns the software, built-in fonts, papers and scenes.
Reuse rights
Yes, within limits. Provided you comply with the terms, you may use the generated output for personal, educational or business purposes without asking permission, which covers printing it, submitting it, mailing it or including it in paid work. What you may not do is strip out the raw materials: extracting, redistributing, reselling or separately using HandtextAI's fonts, paper assets, scene assets, software or templates outside the generated output is forbidden, as is removing watermarks or access controls, reselling the service, or building a competing product from it. The terms also place the checking burden on you, and warn that no institution, scanner, printer or reviewer is guaranteed to accept a handwritten-style page.
