Overview

What is hypt?

hypt is a Swiss conversational feedback and customer activation platform built primarily for banks and insurers. Its premise is that measuring satisfaction is not enough: every customer moment should also produce an action. After a meaningful interaction — an advisory meeting, a service call, a claim — a short feedback dialogue opens through a link or a QR code. Instead of a standard questionnaire, an AI-led conversation asks why, which the vendor argues yields more context and depth than stars or an NPS score alone.

The platform is organised around three product modules. Conversational Feedback handles the collection itself. Online Reputation Manager & Schutz centralises reputation monitoring and protection. Word-of-Mouth converts happy customers into referrals. Two further modules, the Feedback Platform and Analyse, provide the chat funnel builder, the dashboards and the reporting.

What happens next is the part hypt emphasises. Responses are evaluated in real time and structured by location, team, role and touchpoint, so patterns surface within hours rather than weeks. Dissatisfied customers are routed into a private clarification process before their experience becomes public. Satisfied ones are invited, at the right moment, to leave a Google or Trustpilot review or to refer someone through WhatsApp, SMS or email. The vendor reports average rates of roughly 70% feedback, 40% referral and 30% online review among activated users, alongside headline figures of 274% return on investment and a doubling of feedback volume in the first year — all publisher claims, not audited results.

Compliance is the second pillar. hypt runs on Microsoft Azure with all data processed and stored exclusively in Switzerland, and states that the product works without processing personal data at all, which is what makes it compatible with Swiss banking secrecy. GDPR and DORA requirements are presented as built into the product rather than added afterwards.

Delivery is deliberately light. The tool is browser-based with nothing to install, works through links and QR codes without any integration, and the vendor puts a typical setup at two to four weeks even for enterprise projects. CRM connections to HubSpot, Salesforce or BSI can be added later.

What it does

  • Collect customer feedback through short AI-led conversations instead of star ratings or surveys
  • Catch dissatisfied customers privately before they publish a negative review
  • Turn satisfied customers into Google, Trustpilot and app store reviews
  • Generate referrals automatically through WhatsApp, SMS, iMessage and email
  • Break results down by location, team, role and touchpoint in real time
  • Trigger feedback funnels from CRM events in HubSpot, Salesforce or BSI
  • Run the whole loop without processing personal data, for regulated industries

When to use hypt / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if hypt is the right fit.

When to use hypt

  • Banks and insurers that need customer feedback without processing personal data
  • Customer experience teams measuring service quality by branch, team and touchpoint
  • Marketing teams looking to grow online ratings and word-of-mouth referrals
  • Compliance-heavy organisations bound by GDPR, DORA or Swiss banking secrecy
  • Retail, real estate and consumer brands with frequent, repeated customer contact

When not to use hypt

  • Organisations with few or irregular customer contacts, since the vendor itself ties the effect to contact frequency
  • Buyers who need a published price or a self-service signup, as all three plans are quote-only
  • Teams wanting to test before committing, because the vendor states there is no free trial
  • Contact centres needing telephone speech analytics, as the product is text and chat based
  • Developers expecting API access, since no documentation, endpoint or developer subdomain could be found despite the vendor's FAQ claiming an API exists

How to use hypt

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Book a demo through the website, which opens a scheduling page with the hypt team
  2. Discuss the use case and agree on a pilot scope, since most customers begin with a pilot project
  3. Identify the customer moments worth measuring: advisory meetings, service cases, claims, events or post-purchase
  4. Build the chat funnel with the hypt Chatbuilder, adapting wording and branding to the use case
  5. Place hypt links or QR codes in existing channels — email, SMS, print, receipts, portals — with no integration required
  6. Optionally connect HubSpot, Salesforce or BSI so funnels trigger on CRM events
  7. Configure dashboards and reporting together with the hypt team, typically within two to four weeks
  8. Monitor conversion, referral and feedback rates live, broken down by location, team and touchpoint
  9. Run A/B tests on funnel wording and triggers, adjusting them while the campaign is running
  10. Review results with the Customer Success team in regular check-ins and extend to further touchpoints

  • Can be operated without processing personal data, which is what makes it viable under Swiss banking secrecy
  • All data processed and stored exclusively in Switzerland on Microsoft Azure
  • One customer contact serves three purposes at once: feedback, online review and referral

Pricing

Pricing & Plans

There is no free plan and no free trial. The vendor states plainly that a classic free trial does not exist, and that use is based on a monthly licence. hypt publishes no amount at all: the three plans on the pricing page — Starter, Pro and Enterprise — each display only a request-a-quote button, so no lowest price point can be quoted here. Pricing is described as depending on team size, feature scope and integration needs, and the licence is said to include unlimited feedback, referrals and Google reviews. The terms specify that fees are exclusive of statutory VAT, that invoicing is in advance, and that three- or six-month subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 30 days before term. The only way to evaluate the product without a full commitment is a scoped pilot project, during which the vendor says part of the cost may be waived.

  • standardised solution with simple data visualisation
  • suited to a single touchpoint or a limited use case
Enterprise — monthly licence, price on request

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how hypt handles your data.

GDPR overview

hypt claims full GDPR compliance in plain terms and states it also meets the Swiss Data Protection Act. The controller is named as hypt AG, Worblaufenstrasse 147, 3048 Worblaufen, reachable at hello@hypt.ch. An Article 27 representative is declared for the EEA and Austria, but is not named: the privacy policy says the contact details are supplied on request only. Transfers to countries without adequate protection are covered by the European Commission's revised standard contractual clauses, decision (EU) 2021/914. The listed rights cover access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability. The strongest concrete argument is structural rather than contractual: the product can be operated without processing personal data at all. No named security certification is published — no ISO 27001, no SOC 2, no certificate number or auditing body.

Who owns the data?

The terms are explicit on this point: under clause 4.6 the customer remains in every case the sole party entitled to the data, and may demand that hypt hand over some or all of it at any time during the contract, with no right of retention on the provider's side. Delivery is made on data media or over a network, at the customer's choice. What the customer does not receive is the software needed to exploit that data: clause 14 keeps all intellectual property in the services, the hypt software, the website and the documentation with the provider. On termination, clause 10.8 blocks the customer login and dashboards and stops the QR-code redirections, so continued access depends on exporting beforehand.

Reuse rights

The customer keeps full control over the feedback data and can request its release at any point during the contract, in a portable form and without the provider withholding it. Nothing in the terms restricts what the customer may then do with that material internally. On the collection side, hypt states that numeric ratings and text feedback are captured anonymously through a web chatbot; only negative feedback is personalised, and only because the respondent is then asked for contact details so the issue can be followed up. The vendor says sensitive data collection can be switched off entirely without loss of effectiveness, and that no registration, cookies or user profiles are required from respondents. Personal data is also processed for marketing and relationship management, with a right to object at any time. Nowhere on the site is there any statement about training AI models on customer data.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The privacy policy sets retention by purpose rather than by a single rule: data is kept as long as the processing purposes, statutory retention periods and the company's legitimate interests in documentation and evidence require, or as long as storage is technically necessary. Two concrete figures are given. Exchanges through the contact form, email, telephone or chat are normally kept for 12 months from the last contact, extendable where evidence, legal or contractual obligations require it. Emails held in personal mailboxes and written correspondence are normally kept for at least 10 years. Technical usage data is limited to what is necessary, ranging from a few days upwards depending on purpose. Note that no specific retention period is published for the feedback data collected through the funnels themselves, and that ratings and text feedback are stated to be collected anonymously in the first place.

Hosting summary

hypt states that it runs on Microsoft Azure and that all data is processed and stored exclusively in Switzerland, which it presents as one of the four pillars of its security position alongside Swiss banking secrecy compatibility, the absence of sensitive data collection and GDPR compliance. The chatbot funnels themselves are served from subpages of the vendor's own join-hypt.com domain, protected by TLS on what the privacy policy describes as current server infrastructure. Jurisdiction is therefore Swiss rather than European Union, which matters for buyers who specifically require EU residency. Where data does reach a country without an adequate level of protection, the privacy policy applies the European Commission's revised standard contractual clauses, decision (EU) 2021/914. One limit is worth stating: no formal subprocessor list is published. The privacy policy names tools used on the marketing site, and the security page names Azure, but neither amounts to a disclosed list of the parties processing customer data in the product itself.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting hypt.

  • The company is far older than the brand: the legal entity dates from 2011 under a previous name and business, while hypt only appeared in the register in 2022 and became a company limited by shares in 2025
  • No amount is published anywhere, so total cost of ownership cannot be estimated before entering a sales process, and three- and six-month subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 30 days ahead
  • The performance figures used throughout the site are vendor claims without independent audit, and the same is true of the compliance statements, since no named certification is published
  • Some legal material has aged: the terms are dated August 2021, before both the rebrand and the change of legal form, and the privacy policy still invokes the Privacy Shield framework invalidated in 2020
  • The vendor's FAQ states that an API exists, yet no documentation, endpoint or developer subdomain could be found; confirm what integration actually means contractually before relying on it
  • Steering customers towards public reviews at the moment they are happiest shapes the resulting ratings; treat aggregate scores produced this way as an activation outcome, not a neutral measurement
  • Routing dissatisfied customers into a private channel resolves individual cases but can also keep legitimate criticism out of public view, which is a governance question worth settling internally
  • The privacy claim rests on how the tool is configured: sensitive data collection is optional, and negative feedback is personalised by design, so the no-personal-data position depends on choices made at setup
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. hypt is deliberately built to avoid an IT project: it is browser-based with nothing to install, and it is deployed by placing links or QR codes into channels that already exist — email, SMS, print, receipts, customer portals. No system integration is required to start. The chat funnel, dashboards and reporting are configured jointly with the hypt team rather than by the customer alone, and the vendor puts a typical setup at two to four weeks including enterprise projects. CRM connections to HubSpot, Salesforce or BSI are optional and can be added later, once the first funnels are running.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is hypt?
hypt is a Swiss conversational feedback and customer activation platform, built primarily for banks and insurers. It captures customer feedback in real time through short AI-led chat conversations and converts it directly into actions: private issue resolution, online reviews or referrals.
How does it differ from a survey tool or an NPS system?
The difference the vendor emphasises is action rather than analysis. Feedback is collected as a natural conversation instead of a standardised form with stars, which surfaces the reasons behind a rating, and every response is routed automatically into a next step rather than into a report.
How much does hypt cost?
hypt publishes no prices. Three plans exist — Starter, Pro and Enterprise — each sold as a monthly licence with a request-a-quote button instead of an amount. The vendor says cost depends on team size, feature scope and integration needs. Fees are quoted exclusive of statutory VAT.
Is there a free trial?
No. The vendor states explicitly that there is no classic free trial. What is offered instead is a free initial consultation call and the option of a scoped pilot project, during which the vendor says part of the cost may be waived.
Do we have to hand over customer data?
According to hypt, no. The platform is designed to work without processing or storing personal data: respondents need no registration, and the vendor states that no cookies or user profiles are used. Collection of sensitive data can be disabled entirely without reducing effectiveness.
Where is the data hosted?
On Microsoft Azure, with all data processed and stored exclusively in Switzerland according to the security page. The chatbot funnels themselves run on subpages of the vendor's own join-hypt.com domain, protected by TLS.
Is hypt usable by a regulated bank or insurer?
That is its primary market. The vendor claims GDPR compliance, alignment with the Swiss Data Protection Act and compatibility with Swiss banking secrecy, and cites DORA among the regulatory requirements the platform is designed for. Note that no named security certification is published.
How long does implementation take?
The vendor puts a typical setup at two to four weeks, including enterprise projects, on the grounds that no IT project or system integration is needed. hypt is deployed through links and QR codes placed in existing communication channels.
Which integrations and channels are supported?
CRM integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce and BSI. Distribution runs over email, SMS, push notifications and QR codes, with referrals through WhatsApp and iMessage. Review destinations include Google, Trustpilot, the App Store and Google Play.
Is there an API, and is there a mobile app?
No public API could be found: the 216-URL sitemap contains no API page, every /api path returns a genuine 404, and no api, docs or developers subdomain exists. The vendor's own FAQ does answer yes and mentions an API connection, but describes only CRM connectors, so treat this as a question for the sales team. There is no mobile app either: hypt is browser-based and requires no installation.
Conclusion

Should you pick hypt?

hypt is a focused product rather than a general feedback tool, and its focus is what makes it interesting. Built for Swiss banks and insurers, it solves a specific problem: how to hear from customers in a heavily regulated environment where processing personal data is the obstacle. Its answer — running the whole loop anonymously, on Azure infrastructure kept entirely in Switzerland — is a genuinely uncommon position, and it explains a client list that includes several cantonal banks and major insurers.

The design decision worth noting is that hypt does not stop at measurement. Dissatisfied customers are pulled into a private channel before they reach a public review page, and satisfied ones are pushed towards reviews and referrals at the moment they are most likely to act. That is a reputation strategy as much as a feedback one, and buyers should judge it on those terms.

The main obstacle to assessment is commercial opacity. Nothing is priced publicly, there is no free trial and no free plan, and every path leads to a sales conversation. The claimed performance figures — 274% ROI, 40% referral rates — come from the vendor and are not audited. The absence of any named security certification is also worth raising early with a company selling to banks, as is the absence of a published subprocessor list.

One point of context matters for anyone assessing maturity: the legal entity behind hypt has existed since 2011 under an earlier name and a different business, became hypt in 2022 and was converted into a company limited by shares in 2025. The company is older than the product. For a shortlist in Swiss or DACH financial services, hypt is a credible candidate; expect to run a pilot to learn what it costs.
