Overview

What is Leadzai?

Leadzai is a cloud platform for buying and managing digital advertising across several networks. Its own terms describe it as cloud-based digital advertising software which allows users to estimate the outcome of and run Digital Marketing Campaigns across multiple channels. It is sold to digital agencies, media partners, performance teams, SMB-focused shops and resellers rather than to advertisers directly, and the contract reflects that: it separates the Reseller, Leadzai's commercial partner, from the End User, the advertiser whose campaigns actually run.

The platform covers Google Ads (Search, Display, Performance Max), Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network, Messenger), Microsoft Advertising, YouTube and, since 31 August 2026, TikTok. A single builder pushes campaigns to all of them in minutes; the AI then handles bidding, pacing and budget arbitration, shifting spend in real time towards what performs. Automation is not left alone: Leadzai states that every campaign goes through human validation, a second set of expert eyes.

Named capabilities include a unified campaign builder, goal-based campaign logic, smart budget shifting, a Budget Estimator, ACS for auto-generating ad creatives, and Location Matcher, an AI function that translates a campaign's geographic areas between Google Maps, Google Ads, Meta and Microsoft in both directions with a shared memory. Reporting is built for agency use: white-label dashboards, branded client reports, real-time tracking of ROI, spend and margin, and automated Smart Report emails.

The About page claims 500K ads produced, more than 20,000 campaigns managed per month, more than 250,000 AI operations per month, 7 platform languages and 12 content languages, alongside a 72% reduction in campaign setup time. These are self-declared figures, not audited ones, and the languages are never listed anywhere.

Access is through the web application at app.advertio.com and through a public REST API documented in OpenAPI 3.0.3 with JWT authentication. The company is remote-first and advertises 24/7 support. On TikTok specifically, Video and Carousel formats are supported, AI video creation runs through TikTok Symphony, which turns a still image into a five-second animated video, linking a verified organic account as the ad identity is mandatory, and daily budgets can sit below TikTok's standard minimums thanks to Leadzai's partnership.

What it does

  • Launch and manage Google, Meta, Microsoft and TikTok campaigns from a single interface
  • Pay only for the goals, meaning the defined clicks, that campaigns actually reach
  • Recover part of the efficiency gains as a rebate paid back to the partner
  • Produce white-label client reports without exports or spreadsheets
  • Have every campaign reviewed by a human specialist before it goes live
  • Roll unspent budget forward instead of spending it at a loss
  • Match campaign geography automatically between Google Maps, Google Ads, Meta and Microsoft

When to use Leadzai / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Leadzai is the right fit.

When to use Leadzai

  • Digital agencies and marketing providers managing a large portfolio of SMB advertising accounts
  • Resellers and media partners looking to raise the number of campaigns each person can run
  • Agency owners who want to remove fixed licence fees and protect their margin on small budgets
  • Teams that must prove ROI to SMB clients with readable, white-label reports
  • Marketing providers modernising a legacy campaign system, a target named on the About page

When not to use Leadzai

  • Direct advertisers wanting self-service: there is no autonomous sign-up, the only way in is a sales demo
  • Buyers who require a published price list, since the Cost per Goal is calculated case by case and never displayed
  • Advertisers whose campaigns run outside Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and YouTube, as no other network is covered
  • Teams looking for reporting on non-advertising channels such as SEO, email or CRM, which are out of scope
  • Organisations whose procurement demands a published DPA, a subprocessor list or an ISO/SOC certificate, none of which exists
Get started

How to use Leadzai

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Start from the demo page: 'Book a demo' opens a form asking for name, email, phone, country, company, website and the number of SMB clients you serve
  2. Expect no self-service alternative: the site offers no sign-up button and no autonomous account creation
  3. Once you are a partner, sign in to the web application at app.advertio.com
  4. As a Reseller, create and administer the End User accounts and provision their credentials yourself, as the terms require
  5. Plan for a go-live in days rather than weeks, the onboarding pace the site advertises
  6. Connect the network prerequisites, for example a verified TikTok organic account linked through an authorisation link generated by the platform
  7. Build a campaign by defining its goal; the Cost per Goal is then calculated during setup from structure, targeting and budget
  8. Review that Cost per Goal before committing: it stays valid for 30 days as long as the campaign is not launched, and launching means accepting it
  9. Launch and let the AI run bidding, pacing and budget shifts, with a human specialist reviewing the campaign; budgets and goals stay under your control
  10. Optionally plug into the public REST API to create a business, create a campaign and auto-generate content from your own systems

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No platform fee, no per-seat licence and no announced setup cost: billing is tied to the result, summed up on the site as 'If we don't hit the goal, you don't pay for it'
  • An efficiency rebate paid back to the partner, and unspent budget carried forward when results cannot be delivered
  • Real and actively maintained multi-network coverage, with TikTok added on 31 August 2026 and product releases documented month after month
  • Documented human validation on top of the automation, rather than an entirely hands-off algorithm
  • A fully documented public REST API (OpenAPI 3.0.3, JWT authentication), which is rare in this segment
  • Third-party recognition: Google Premier Partner and Microsoft Advertising Select Partner, plus a Siinda Innovation Award 2026 in the Location Platforms and Lead Generation category for Location Matcher, whose measured effect was that 2% of campaigns were serving out-of-area clicks, covering 2,460 euros of monthly advertising spend, with targeting errors down to zero on new campaigns and the feature active on 100% of them
  • Personal data stored on servers located in the European Union, under GDPR with the Portuguese CNPD as supervisory authority, and a robots.txt that openly allows AI crawlers such as ClaudeBot, GPTBot and PerplexityBot

Cons

  • No public amount of any kind: no entry price, no grid, no range. The Cost per Goal only appears once a campaign is being configured, which makes any comparison with a competitor impossible before contact
  • No free trial and no permanent free plan announced, and no self-service sign-up either: a sales demo is mandatory to get in
  • Thin compliance documentation: no published DPA, no subprocessor list and no security certification, neither ISO 27001 nor SOC 2
  • Nothing is said about whether customer data is used to train AI models or whether an opt-out exists, and no minimum age is given, the terms merely requiring legal capacity under Portuguese law
  • No geographic restriction is published, but no list of served countries either, so coverage has to be confirmed with the vendor
  • The site contradicts itself: the how-we-compare page still lists 'Google, Meta, Microsoft, YouTube' although TikTok has been fully supported since 31 August 2026; two social links in the structured data differ from the clickable footer links; and the share capital shown on the site, 60,046.89 euros, differs from the figure in the Portuguese commercial register
  • Loose ends around the documentation: two links point to deleted pages, /archive/pricing-static and /archive/customer-stories, which return 404, the Zendesk knowledge base refuses automated access, and the claimed 7 platform languages and 12 content languages are listed nowhere
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

No price is published. Leadzai announces neither a free trial nor a permanent free plan, and it publishes no price list, no entry price and not even a range. Billing follows a pay-per-goal model: the client pays only when a campaign delivers the defined clicks, and there is no platform fee, no per-seat licence, no monthly software cost and no setup fee. The price itself is the Cost per Goal, a dynamic per-objective figure calculated during campaign setup according to the campaign's structure, targeting and budget; it remains valid for 30 days unless the campaign is launched, and launching it constitutes acceptance of that price. A share of the efficiency gains is returned to the partner as a rebate, and unspent budget is carried forward when the results cannot be delivered. Marketing budgets are quoted exclusive of VAT and invoicing is monthly, by email, on the basis of results. No minimum term is imposed. For the avoidance of doubt, the euro amounts that do appear on the site relate to share capital, a contractual liability cap, an example of mis-targeted advertising spend and investment received: none of them is a tariff.

Prices and plans listed above may evolve. Always check the official pricing page before subscribing.
Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Leadzai handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR compliance is stated explicitly and in some detail. Leadzai is established in Portugal, inside the EU, so the regulation applies directly and no Article 27 representative is required or named. The Privacy & Cookie Policy was updated on 22 July 2025 and the terms have been in force since July 2025. Processing rests on consent, contract performance, legal obligation or legitimate interests, and Leadzai declares itself a processor acting for its clients, the Reseller being the controller. The rights listed are access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, withdrawal of consent, portability, opting out of marketing and complaint to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the CNPD. Requests go to legal@leadzai.com. Security measures cited: HTTPS encryption, secure cloud hosting with strict access controls, network segregation and monitoring, two-factor authentication and regular security reviews. Not published: any DPO, DPA, subprocessor list or security certification.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms (§17) you keep all rights, title and interest in the content, data, logos, images and other materials you upload, defined as User Content. In exchange you grant Leadzai a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify and display that material, solely to operate, maintain and improve the platform and to deliver your campaigns. Leadzai and its licensors keep everything on their own side: software, algorithms, design, interface, documentation, updates and derivative works. Feedback you send is assigned to Leadzai without restriction, with moral rights waived as far as the law allows. For data protection purposes Leadzai acts as a processor on behalf of its clients; the Reseller is the controller and supplies the End User personal data.

Reuse rights

Your own material stays yours to reuse: nothing in the terms restricts what a client does with the content, data, logos or creatives it uploads, and the licence granted to Leadzai runs the other way round. Leadzai's own use is bounded by the purposes declared in the privacy policy: managing the account, delivering and improving the services, communicating about updates, features and support, keeping billing accurate, meeting legal obligations and enforcing the terms. The legal bases invoked are consent, performance of the contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests such as product improvement and fraud prevention. The data collected covers name, email, company name and sector; billing details (VAT number, address, city, country, postcode); optional items such as a profile picture and social profiles; technical data including IP address, browser, device, pages visited, interactions, referring and exit URLs; and anonymous statistics. Cookies and tracking technologies serve visitor recognition, preferences, usage analysis and performance, with third-party tools named (Google Analytics, advertising cookies). Data may be shared with service providers under processing agreements, with authorities, with advisers and investors under confidentiality, and with partner platforms such as Google Ads and Meta when a campaign requires it; anonymous usage data may also be shared for analytical or commercial purposes. The terms (§23) reserve the use of artificial intelligence tools to enhance platform performance, "always in accordance with applicable data protection regulations". What the site never says is whether customer data is used to train models, or whether any opt-out exists.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Leadzai keeps personal data for up to three years from your last interaction, unless a longer period is required by law. Before closing an account for inactivity, the company says it will notify you first. No separate retention period is published for individual categories of data: billing records, technical logs and campaign data all fall under the same three-year rule, with no detail on how they are archived or anonymised along the way. Deletion is available on request through the GDPR rights the policy lists, by writing to legal@leadzai.com. In practice, an account left dormant for three years may be closed and its data removed, while anything a Portuguese accounting or tax obligation covers will be kept for longer.

Hosting summary

Leadzai states that personal data is stored on secure servers located within the European Union. No specific hosting country is named and no region outside the EU is mentioned, so the jurisdiction is EU-wide rather than pinned to a single member state, under Portuguese supervision since the publisher is established in Leiria. The site's llms.txt file declares an infrastructure running on Google Cloud, and a technical detail points the same way: images in the API documentation are served from Google Cloud Storage. One distinction matters here. The public website is delivered behind Cloudflare, on an anycast address whose node geolocates to the United States; that concerns the delivery of the marketing site, not the hosting of customer data. Declared safeguards include secure cloud hosting with strict access controls, network segregation and monitoring. What is not published: the names of hosting providers or data centres, a subprocessor list, and any security certification. A buyer with data-residency requirements will need written confirmation of the exact location.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Leadzai.

  • The terms let Leadzai modify, complete or replace the content of a submitted campaign, and withdraw or suspend it without notice or authorisation; if that happens, no refund of sums already paid is due unless the law requires one
  • Invoices reflect the total cost of the campaign and are not itemised: there is no breakdown of margins or internal costs, so a partner cannot audit where the money went, and Leadzai reserves the right to adjust prices to reflect market conditions
  • Total liability is capped at the lower of 5,000 euros or the fees paid over the preceding twelve months, and the platform is supplied 'as is' and 'as available', with no guarantee of results or availability
  • The Reseller carries the financial responsibility for every amount invoiced for its End Users, media included, and also assumes the lawfulness of End User data collection and the duty to inform the people concerned
  • Disputes go to arbitration before the Associacao Portuguesa de Arbitragem, seated in Lisbon and conducted in English, rather than to a state court; late payment can trigger suspension without notice, with interest at the Portuguese statutory commercial rate
  • The terms reserve the use of artificial intelligence tools to improve the platform without saying which data feeds them, and the site says nothing about model training on customer data or any opt-out: worth settling before uploading a client's material
  • User content remains the client's property but is licensed to Leadzai worldwide, royalty-free and with the right to sublicense, while feedback and suggestions are assigned outright; and on the human side, the comfort of automation plus human review can quietly erode a team's own habit of checking targeting, creatives and results
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for the day-to-day user, but gated at the entrance. There is nothing to install: the platform runs in a browser at app.advertio.com, going live is advertised in days rather than weeks, a 72% cut in campaign setup time is claimed, and the interface is presented as deliberately simple. The friction is organisational: onboarding always goes through a sales demo, and end-advertiser accounts are provisioned by the reseller partner rather than opened independently. Per-network prerequisites apply, TikTok for instance requiring a verified organic account linked through an authorisation link. Only the optional REST API needs a developer.

Fundraising

A 5 million euro round announced in September 2022, led by Lince Capital, with Portugal Ventures, Olisipo Way and Luis Baptista-Coelho taking part. It was made public on the same day as the rebrand from Advertio to Leadzai and reported by the Portuguese business press (ECO News, Observador, Dinheiro Vivo, Jornal de Negocios). The stated aim of the round was to hire 50 more people by the end of 2023.
A 1,000,000 euro investment through Portugal Ventures and the 'Regiao de Leiria Crescimento' closed venture capital fund, under the 'Call Leiria Crescimento' programme. This one comes from a first-party source: a PDF poster published by Leadzai on its own About page, which describes the funded project as the development of a technology platform for buying and selling digital advertising.
A co-financed operation registered as LISBOA2030-FEDER-00593000, documented in an operation sheet PDF also published on the About page.
Leadzai appears in the portfolio published by Portugal Ventures.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does pay-per-goal actually mean?
You pay only when Leadzai delivers the clicks defined as the campaign's goal. If the goal is not reached, it is not invoiced. Nothing is charged on top for the software itself: no platform fee, no per-seat licence, no monthly cost and no setup fee.
Which advertising networks does Leadzai cover?
Google (Search, Display and Performance Max), Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network and Messenger), Microsoft Advertising, YouTube, and TikTok, fully supported since 31 August 2026 with Video and Carousel formats. No other network is covered.
Are the prices public?
No. Leadzai publishes no price list and no range. The Cost per Goal is calculated during the setup of each campaign, from its structure, targeting and budget, and stays valid for 30 days as long as the campaign is not launched.
Is there a free trial or a free plan?
The site announces neither. The only entry point is a demo. The absence of platform fees should not be read as a free plan: the service is paid for on results.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No lock-in is announced. Invoicing is monthly, sent by email and based on the results delivered, with marketing budgets quoted exclusive of VAT.
Who controls the budget?
The client does. You set the budgets, the goals and the pacing, and the site is blunt about it: 'Who controls the spend? You do. Always.' Unspent budget is carried forward when the results cannot be delivered.
Is there an API?
Yes. A public REST API is documented in OpenAPI 3.0.3 with JWT authentication, served from app.advertio.com. It covers creating a business, creating a campaign and auto-generating content.
Where is the data hosted?
On secure servers located within the European Union. The site's llms.txt file declares an infrastructure running on Google Cloud, but no specific country or data centre is named.
How long is data kept?
Up to three years from your last interaction, unless a longer period is required by law. Leadzai says it will notify you before closing an account for inactivity.
Who publishes Leadzai, and who should I contact?
Leadzai, S.A., a Portuguese company based in Leiria and registered under Portuguese commercial register number 514.339.098. Legal and GDPR questions go to legal@leadzai.com, support to support@leadzai.com, sales to sales@leadzai.com and partnerships to partner@leadzai.com.
Conclusion

Should you pick Leadzai?

Leadzai's strongest argument is its business model rather than its feature list. Pay-per-goal billing, no platform fee, no per-seat licence, an efficiency rebate paid back to the partner and unspent budget carried forward all point at one buyer: the agency or reseller running a high volume of small SMB campaigns and watching its margin closely. The network coverage is credible and actively maintained, with TikTok fully supported since 31 August 2026 and monthly product releases documented publicly. Outside signals back this up: Google Premier Partner and Microsoft Advertising Select Partner status, a Siinda Innovation Award 2026 for Location Matcher, a fully documented public API, and personal data stored on servers in the European Union.

The main reservation is pricing opacity. Nothing is published, and the Cost per Goal only surfaces once a campaign is configured, so comparing Leadzai with another vendor means going through a sales demo first. There is no self-service sign-up, no free trial and no free plan.

The second reservation is the thinness of the compliance paperwork: no published DPA, no subprocessor list, no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certificate, and nothing at all on whether customer data feeds model training or whether an opt-out exists, while the terms do reserve the use of AI tools to improve the platform.

For a digital agency handling SMB volume, Leadzai is a serious candidate, provided the Cost per Goal holds up in a real campaign and the contractual points are read first: Leadzai may edit or withdraw a campaign, invoices are not itemised, liability is capped low and disputes go to arbitration in Lisbon. For an advertiser wanting to buy directly and alone, it is simply the wrong shape of product.
