Parliant.AI
Parliant.AI runs surveys as AI-led conversations instead of fixed forms. The AI asks follow-up questions in real time, respondents type or speak their answers, and open-ended replies are categorized into themes automatically. Web app, permanent free plan.
What is Parliant.AI?
Parliant.AI replaces the rigid survey form with a conversation run by an AI. The pitch is blunt: no rigid forms, just AI-guided conversations that encourage honest, complete answers. The bet behind it is that when a survey feels like a conversation, people share more, and the qualitative data that comes out is richer.
Creation comes first. Instead of designing a form or phrasing perfect questions, you describe the insights you are after and the AI builds the entire conversation flow, on the homepage promise of creating in minutes rather than hours.
Collection is where the product earns its name. The AI asks relevant follow-up questions based on previous answers and adapts in real time, and respondents can type or speak their replies. Several guardrails frame the experience: a cap on the number of questions per survey, a character limit per message, voice recordings limited to one minute, at most three resumptions of a conversation, and an optional name-and-email step at the end that respondents can skip.
Analysis closes the loop. Responses are categorized automatically, themes are identified and actionable insights are extracted from open-ended answers without manual coding, which is normally what makes open questions expensive. A live Insight Level score rates how rich a conversation is, and a 'Current Evaluation' comment points out what an answer is still missing.
Surveys go out as public links, respondents create no account, and a survey can be closed to new responses. A real demo survey is open from the homepage without signing up, so the format can be judged before committing.
The technical perimeter is narrow: a web app and nothing else, with no public API, no mobile app, no third-party integration and no developer documentation. The business model is a permanent free plan (3 surveys, 100 responses per month, basic analytics), Pro at 49 USD per month (unlimited surveys, 1,000 responses per month) and Enterprise on quote.
The publisher stays invisible: no company, address, team or about page is published, and the domain dates from May 2025, so this is a young product. No AI model or provider is named anywhere on the site.
What it does
- Build a survey from a plain description of the insights you want, with no questionnaire to write
- Run the interview itself: the AI asks follow-up questions tailored to each answer, in real time
- Collect answers by keyboard or by voice, with automatic transcription of spoken replies
- Categorize open-ended responses and surface recurring themes without any manual coding
- Rate the richness of a conversation live, through an 'Insight Level' indicator and an evaluation comment
- Frame a survey with a maximum number of questions, and close it to new responses when collection is over
- Distribute the survey through a public link, with no account to create on the respondent's side
When to use Parliant.AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Parliant.AI is the right fit.
When to use Parliant.AI
- Product and user-research teams that need discovery interviews at a scale one-to-one sessions cannot reach
- CX and insights managers investigating why customers leave, which is exactly the example the homepage puts forward
- HR teams running engagement surveys, exit interviews and post-training feedback
- Marketing and market research teams testing concepts, brand perception or post-purchase e-commerce feedback
- Founders and small teams with no research budget or technical skills, since the free plan is permanent rather than a trial
When not to use Parliant.AI
- Teams that need large-sample quantitative surveys with closed questions: the tool is built for open-ended answers, and response quotas are low (100 per month on the free plan, 1,000 on Pro)
- Anyone who has to feed survey data into an existing information system: there is no public API, no documented webhook and no third-party integration
- Buyers who need contractual GDPR guarantees or a documented data location: no DPA, no subprocessor list, no Article 27 representative, no published business address and no hosting country or region
- Anyone handling sensitive data or minors: the service is not intended for under-16s and the terms forbid collecting sensitive personal data without consent
- Anyone wanting a mobile app or a risk-free purchase: Parliant.AI is web-only, with no iOS or Android app, and subscription fees are explicitly non-refundable
How to use Parliant.AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open the public demo survey from the homepage to feel the format before creating anything
- Create a free account from the 'Get started' call to action
- Describe to the AI the insights you are looking for, instead of writing a questionnaire
- Let the AI generate the complete conversation flow
- Frame the survey, starting with the maximum number of questions it may ask
- Share the survey's public link with your respondents
- Respondents converse by keyboard or by voice while the AI follows up on their answers
- At the end, respondents optionally leave a name and an email address, or skip the step
- Review the automatic categorization, the identified themes and the extracted insights
- Close the survey once collection is done, and move to Pro if you reach the 100 responses per month cap
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuine differentiation: adaptive follow-up captures what closed forms structurally miss
- No research expertise required, since describing the objective is enough for the AI to build the questionnaire
- Very low friction on the respondent side: voice or keyboard, no account to create, optional identification
- Qualitative analysis is included, and manual coding is the real cost of any open-ended survey
- The free plan is permanent rather than a time-limited trial, and no credit card is mentioned for it
- An unusually clean privacy posture for a survey tool: essential cookies only, no third-party analytics, no advertising or tracking cookies, no sale of personal data, and encryption claimed in transit and at rest
- Simple public pricing with a displayed entry point at 49 USD per month, an open demo survey to judge the product beforehand, and ownership of surveys and responses left to the customer
Cons
- A completely opaque publisher: no company, no address, no team, no about page and no social profile
- No AI model or provider is ever named, so there is no way to know who processes the responses
- Tight quotas, with 100 responses per month on the free plan and 1,000 on Pro, and no published overage terms; Enterprise pricing is not public either
- Subscription fees are billed in advance and explicitly non-refundable
- No contractual tooling: no DPA, no subprocessor list, no Article 27 GDPR representative, and no certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001
- No hosting country or region is published even though international transfers are acknowledged, and the privacy policy says nothing about whether customer data is used to train models
- No public API, no third-party integration and no mobile app, on a very thin site with no documentation, security page, changelog or status page
Pricing & Plans
Parliant.AI operates on a freemium model. Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Parliant.AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
Parliant.AI never states that it is GDPR compliant, and claims no certification of any kind. What exists is concrete but partial. The privacy policy invokes Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Recital 32 of the GDPR to justify the consent exemption for its essential cookies. Section 7 opens a GDPR-shaped list of rights, namely access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, 'depending on your location'. Section 8 acknowledges international transfers with 'appropriate safeguards', without naming any mechanism. Section 9 sets 16 as the minimum age, and section 4 claims encryption in transit and at rest. What is missing matters: no compliance statement, no DPO, no Article 27 representative, no DPA, no subprocessor list, no stated legal basis, no legal entity or business address. A privacy contact does exist: privacy@parliant.ai.
Who owns the data?
Section 5 of the terms is explicit: you retain ownership of your survey content and responses. Parliant.AI owns the platform itself, since the Service, its original content, features and functionality are its intellectual property, protected by copyright and trademark law. The privacy policy states that personal information is never sold to third parties, but allows sharing with service providers that help operate the platform, with payment processors, and with authorities when the law requires it. Those are categories, not companies: no subprocessor is ever named. Nothing in the documents lets the publisher reuse customer content to train models, but the subject is never raised either.
Reuse rights
Because you own your surveys and the responses they produce, you can reuse, publish or analyze that material elsewhere without asking Parliant.AI for permission. The obligations sit on your side. Section 6 of the terms makes the customer responsible for obtaining the necessary consents from survey respondents, complying with data protection laws and protecting respondent privacy. Section 5 forbids collecting sensitive personal data without consent, using the service for spam or harassment, and infringing intellectual property rights. One practical gap deserves attention: data portability is listed in the privacy policy among the rights available 'depending on your location', yet no export feature, CSV or otherwise, is documented anywhere on the site. Portability is announced as a right, not described as a function.

Hosting summary
Parliant.AI publishes almost nothing about where survey data lives. Section 4 of the privacy policy mentions 'secure data centers and cloud infrastructure', along with encryption in transit and at rest, regular security assessments, access controls and authentication. Section 8 acknowledges that information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the user's own, with 'appropriate safeguards' in compliance with applicable laws. That is the entirety of it. No country, no region and no hosting provider is named anywhere in the documents. No specific transfer mechanism is cited, neither standard contractual clauses nor an adequacy decision, and no subprocessor list is published. The tool's country of origin is the United States, but the publisher never links that to where survey data is actually stored or processed. For anyone who has to document a processing chain, or to tell respondents where their answers are kept, this is a blank that should be raised directly with the publisher before any deployment involving personal data.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Parliant.AI.
- The AI keeps probing until answers are detailed, so respondents may disclose more than they intended, the fluency of the conversation lowering their guard
- Responsibility for respondent consent and for compliance with data protection law sits with the customer, not with the publisher
- Open-ended answers routinely contain unsolicited personal data; the terms forbid collecting sensitive data without consent, but nothing technically prevents it from arriving
- No hosting location is published even though international transfers are acknowledged, so a European controller cannot document its processing chain
- Because the documents say nothing about model training, you cannot promise respondents that their verbatim answers will not be reused elsewhere
- No AI model or provider is named, so the theme synthesis is not auditable, and a wrong automatic categorization can quietly steer a real decision
- Delegating question design to the AI can flatten methodological thinking and introduce invisible phrasing bias, while relying on a young service from an unidentified publisher, with non-refundable fees and no status page or availability commitment, carries a genuine commercial risk
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low. Parliant.AI is a web application: nothing to install, no code to write and no integration to connect. You create a free account online, then describe the insights you want instead of designing a form, and the AI produces the conversation flow, on the site's promise of creating in minutes rather than hours. Distribution is a single public link, and respondents have no account to create. The only real skill required is being able to state a clear research objective, which is also what determines the quality of the questions the AI will ask.

Should you pick Parliant.AI?
Parliant.AI does one thing and does it with conviction: it turns the survey form into a conversation, and it goes after a real gap: the qualitative signal closed questionnaires never capture. Its strength lies as much in the analysis as in the collection, since automatic categorization, theme detection and insight extraction remove the manual coding that is the true cost of open-ended research.
Its privacy posture is remarkable for this category: essential cookies only, no third-party analytics, no tracking or advertising cookies, no sale of personal information, encryption claimed in transit and at rest, and ownership of surveys and responses left with the customer.
The counterweight is the publisher. No company, no address, no team, no about page: Parliant.AI is a brand name, not an identified legal entity. The product is young, its domain dating from May 2025, and the compliance tooling an enterprise buyer expects simply does not exist, with no DPA, no subprocessor list, no Article 27 representative, no published hosting location, no certification and no named AI provider. For an individual or a small team that is a footnote; for a procurement or DPO review it is a blocker.
Response quotas are low, at 100 per month on the free plan and 1,000 on Pro, and fees are billed in advance and non-refundable, which makes the sequence obvious: try the public demo open from the homepage, validate your real use case on the permanent free plan, and pay only once the format and the volume clearly fit.
Before committing, check three things: whether 1,000 responses per month is enough for your study, whether you can live with no disclosed hosting location and no named AI provider, and whether your own consent process holds, because the terms put that responsibility squarely on you rather than on Parliant.AI.
