Parsio
Parsio is an AI-powered document and email parser that extracts structured data from PDFs, emails, attachments, scanned images and web pages, then sends it to Google Sheets, Excel, CSV, JSON, webhooks and 6,000+ apps.
What is Parsio?
Parsio is an AI-powered document and email parser published from Estonia. The promise on its homepage is straightforward: extract structured data from your PDFs, emails and other documents, automatically.
Four parsing engines sit side by side, and all four are available on every plan, including the free one. The AI parser uses pre-trained models covering 15+ common document types and needs no template at all. The GPT parser applies language models to unstructured documents or layouts that keep changing, with the instruction written in plain language. AI OCR turns scanned PDFs and images into usable text while preserving the layout, running either the default OCR engine or Mistral OCR. The template parser lets you define rules once, by highlighting the text you want captured, and then applies them automatically.
Pre-modelled document types include invoices, receipts, bank statements, business cards, identity documents such as passports and driving licences, and W-2 forms. Accepted formats span PDF, scanned images, XLSX, CSV, DOCX, XML, JSON, vCard, HTML and TXT. Documents come in three ways, by forwarding emails to a Parsio mailbox, by manual upload or through the API, plus extraction from a web page URL. Mailboxes and parsers are unlimited.
Parsio handles tables with a variable number of rows and line items spread over several pages, and adds post-processing on top: formatting, business logic, date normalisation, calculations and field splitting. Output goes to Google Sheets through a native integration, to fully customisable JSON webhooks, to XLSX, CSV or JSON downloads, or through the REST API. Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect, n8n, Integrately and KonnectzIT open onto 6,000+ applications, and named integrations include QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, Wave, Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Airtable, Notion, Slack, Shopify, Dropbox and Mailchimp. Ready-made templates exist for platform emails from HARO, Airbnb, LinkedIn job applications and Etsy.
The stated limits matter too: the OCR is trained to recognise handwritten and printed text in Latin characters and European languages. The interface ships in 14 languages. Parsio claims 10,000+ businesses, a 4.9/5 Capterra rating and 99.95% uptime, and positions itself as offering superior services for a fraction of competitors' prices. The same publisher also runs Airparser, an LLM-driven document parser.
What it does
- Extract structured fields from PDFs, emails, attachments, scanned images and web pages
- Pick a parsing engine per use case: AI parser, GPT parser, AI OCR or template parser
- Capture tables and line items, including line items spread across several pages
- Receive documents through a dedicated Parsio mailbox, a manual upload, the API or a web page URL
- Post-process the output: normalise dates, compute totals, split fields, enrich records
- Export in real time to Google Sheets, webhooks, XLSX, CSV, JSON or 6,000+ applications
- Reprocess emails and documents that have already been parsed
When to use Parsio / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Parsio is the right fit.
When to use Parsio
- Finance and back-office teams still re-keying invoices, receipts, bank statements and purchase orders by hand
- Sales and marketing teams that want contact details pulled from inbound emails and pushed straight into a CRM
- Small businesses and freelancers, thanks to a permanent free tier and a paid entry point at USD 24 per month
- Non-technical users: the vendor advertises a no-code setup taking about five minutes
- Anyone handling the document types Parsio already models: invoices, receipts, bank statements, business cards, ID documents and W-2 forms
When not to use Parsio
- Organisations under HIPAA or FISMA: the terms state the site is not tailored to industry-specific regulations and name both by title
- Any use that would fall under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which the terms explicitly prohibit
- Teams that need a mobile workflow: no iOS or Android application is published
- Documents in non-Latin scripts: the OCR is trained on handwritten and printed text in Latin characters and European languages
- Buyers who expect a refund safety net or occasional use: purchases are non-refundable and accounts inactive for three months may be deleted without notice, free and paid alike
How to use Parsio
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create a free account at app.parsio.io/signup, with no credit card required
- Set up a Parsio mailbox, one per use case: invoices, leads, order confirmations
- Feed it documents: forward emails to that mailbox, upload files, call the API, or point Parsio at a web page URL
- Choose the engine: AI parser for common document types, GPT parser for unpredictable layouts, template parser for a stable format, AI OCR for scans
- With the template parser, highlight the fields to capture once on a sample document
- With the GPT parser, describe in plain language the data you want extracted
- Add post-processing where needed: formatting, business logic, field formatters, Python
- Connect the output: Google Sheets, a webhook, Zapier, Make, n8n or Pabbly, or a file download
- Expect around five minutes to get a first parser running, per the vendor's own claim
- Fall back on the help centre at help.parsio.io, the chat widget at the bottom right of the site, the public API documentation and the downloadable Postman collection
Pros & Cons
Pros
- All four parsing engines are available on every plan, including the permanent free tier
- Permanent free plan: 30 credits per month, no credit card, all features included
- No technical skills required, with a setup the vendor advertises at five minutes
- Explicit commitment that customer data is never used to train or improve AI or LLM models

- Pricing described as unchanged since launch, roughly 17% off on annual billing, and configurable retention up to 180 days on Business
Cons
- No mobile application: nothing is published on iOS or Android
- Sector compliance is out of scope, with HIPAA and FISMA named in the terms as not covered, and the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications cited belong to the hosting providers rather than to Parsio
- Purchases are non-refundable, and unused credits are lost at the end of each billing period
- Accounts left inactive for three months may be deleted without notice, paid plans included
- No contact page, no company page and no published legal contact address; the terms state that postal correspondence is not possible
- Card payment only: no PayPal, no bank transfer, no cryptocurrency
- Free and Starter plans are listed as single-user in the comparison table, OCR is claimed for Latin characters and European languages only, and the privacy policy has not been revised since 17 October 2021
Pricing & Plans
Parsio operates on a freemium model. A permanent free plan, named Sandbox in the comparison table, provides 30 credits per month with no credit card required. The lowest paid entry point is the Starter plan at USD 24.00 per month, or USD 290 per year, covering 100 to 1,000 credits per month through a slider. Growth is priced at USD 124 per month or USD 1,490 per year for 5,000 credits, and Business at USD 249 per month or USD 2,990 per year for 12,000 to 100,000 credits; beyond 100,000 credits, a custom plan is available on request. Annual billing saves approximately 17%. One credit corresponds to one document, or one PDF page, parsed for the first time, and a page consumes one to three credits depending on the engine used, the AI parser being billed at 3 credits per page. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing period. All prices are displayed in US dollars and all payments are made in US dollars, billing is handled by Stripe, which means Parsio does not store card data, invoices are downloadable from Account > Invoices & Usage, and purchases are non-refundable.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Parsio handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is documented in detail. A dedicated GDPR page states that Parsio processes personal data in compliance with the Regulation, and a five-part Data Protection hub covers Overview, Security, Privacy & Cookies, GDPR and the DPA. The company presents this as its Article 13 and 14 information notice and lists the rights it honours: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, exercised at gdpr@parsio.io. A standard Data Processing Agreement is published and described as close to the gdpr.eu template. For transfers outside the EEA, Parsio relies on adequacy decisions and/or Standard Contractual Clauses. Breaches are notified to customers, and to regulators where required, within 72 hours. The company is registered in Estonia, inside the European Union, so no Article 27 representative applies. No Data Protection Officer is named on the site.
Who owns the data?
Parsio's security page states that you retain ownership of every email, document and extracted data set processed through the service. The roles are spelled out: you act as Data Controller, Parsio acts as your Data Processor, and it processes your data strictly according to your instructions. Clause 2.1.2 of the DPA repeats that the processor will not process personal data other than on the controller's documented instructions. You can delete documents, parsers and your entire account at any time. Parsio also states that it never sells or rents customer data, and that employee access is limited to a strict need-to-know basis under confidentiality obligations.
Reuse rights
You retain ownership of the emails, documents and extracted data you run through Parsio, which processes it only to deliver the services you request. The company states that it never trains or improves its AI or LLM models with your data and never sells it, and its privacy policy adds that Google Workspace APIs are not used to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI and/or ML models. Employee access is restricted to a strict need-to-know basis under confidentiality obligations. Two AI subprocessors are declared for the AI features: OpenAI and Mistral. Separately from parsed content, Parsio collects browsing data such as IP address, browser type and version, pages viewed and time spent, and may hold personal details including name, email address, date of birth, phone number and postal address.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Three published documents describe hosting differently, and the gap is worth noting. The terms of service state that the site is hosted in Germany. The features page says data is securely hosted in the EU, with 99.95% uptime. Clause 11.1 of the DPA is broader still: the processor may process personal data on servers located in the European Union and the United States, and may engage subprocessors established in those regions. Where transfers outside the EEA occur, Parsio relies on adequacy decisions and/or Standard Contractual Clauses. Encryption is AES-256 at rest, on encrypted Amazon S3 buckets, and HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher in transit. The cloud infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform and DigitalOcean. Named subprocessors are Amazon S3, Crisp, DigitalOcean, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft, Mistral, MongoDB Atlas, OpenAI and Stripe. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and card data never reaches Parsio's servers, since Stripe handles it under PCI-DSS. The ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications cited are explicitly those of the hosting providers, not Parsio's own.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Parsio.
- All purchases are non-refundable, and the fees for the current period remain due after cancellation, which only takes effect at the end of the paid period
- Parsio reserves the right to delete accounts that remain inactive for three months, paid plans included and without notice, disclaiming liability for the resulting data loss
- Unused credits are lost at the end of each billing period, so over-provisioning is a pure cost, and the terms state that prices may be changed at any time
- Creating multiple free accounts is prohibited: the sanction is termination of all the accounts concerned and forfeiture of their credits, and a fair-use policy applies to every account, with excessive API calls open to sanction
- The terms state that the site is not tailored to industry-specific regulations, naming HIPAA and FISMA, and the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications cited are those of the hosting providers, never Parsio's own
- Clause 11.1 of the DPA allows personal data to be processed on servers located in the European Union and the United States, which matters if your own policy requires EU-only processing
- The privacy policy has been effective since 1 October 2021 and was last updated on 17 October 2021, and the terms state that correspondence to a physical address is not possible despite a registered office in Tallinn, so check the current wording and your escalation route before sending sensitive documents
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for most users. Parsio advertises a five-minute setup with no technical skills required, and shows a No-code & API label under its signup button. The AI parser and the pre-trained models are presented as requiring zero configuration, the template parser is built by highlighting the text to extract, and the GPT parser takes an instruction written in plain language. No credit card is needed to start. Technical users have deeper routes available: a REST API, customisable JSON webhooks, post-processing in Python and a downloadable Postman collection. Published testimonials come from users describing themselves as non-technical.

Should you pick Parsio?
Parsio is a mature product rather than a recent launch: the domain was registered in September 2021 and the first Wayback capture dates from October of the same year. Its security and compliance documentation sits well above what publishers of this size usually offer, with a five-part Data Protection hub, a standard DPA published online, a named list of subprocessors, AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit.
The permanent free plan is the natural way in. Thirty credits a month, no credit card and all four engines available means you can test the AI parser, the GPT parser, AI OCR and the template parser against your own documents before committing to the USD 24 per month Starter plan.
The reservations are real and worth weighing. There is no mobile application and no contact page, and the terms state that postal correspondence is not possible. Purchases are non-refundable, unused credits expire at the end of each billing period, and accounts left inactive for three months may be deleted without notice, paid ones included. The privacy policy still carries a 17 October 2021 date, a long stretch without revision for a product that has clearly moved on since. And the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications mentioned in the security documentation are those of Parsio's hosting providers: Parsio itself does not claim them.
Read together, this is a tool for teams with a repetitive extraction problem and a tolerance for a lean, self-service vendor relationship. Test it on the free tier with your real documents, check the credit arithmetic against your monthly volume, and read the cancellation and inactivity clauses before you commit any budget.
