The product gathers four working tools, plus one that was unavailable at the time of review. Text to Pattern, on the home page, is the core generator: it takes a prompt, offers 19 artistic styles, among them Watercolor, Line Art, Cartoon, Minimalist, 3D Render, Oil Painting and Kawaii, and returns 1 to 4 variations in 10 to 30 seconds as standard PNG files. The Seamless Checker previews any uploaded image in a repeat grid so the seams can be inspected. The Mockup Generator applies a finished pattern to product renders. Upscale HD re-exports a tile at 4096x4096 pixels for print. AI Image to Pattern was under maintenance on 13 August 2026.
Usage is metered in credits: one credit per standard generation, two per HD export, two per mockup render and two per image-to-pattern generation. Credits come with monthly plans and reset at each cycle. The free tier grants no generation credits at all and only exposes cached Random samples, gallery browsing and the Seamless Checker, as section 4.1 of the terms states. Commercial rights begin with the first paid plan and cover print-on-demand, client work and advertising.
Confidentiality is also a paid feature: guest and free results go to the community gallery by default, and the public/private toggle belongs to paid plans. The gallery runs on a 30-day window and requires an account to browse.
The interface exists in seven languages: English, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian, French and Italian. AI processing relies on third-party infrastructure, with Hugging Face named in the terms, payments run through Creem and sign-in uses Google OAuth. Pro costs 28 USD per month or 336 USD per year for 400 credits, and Team 55 USD per month or 660 USD per year for 800 credits. Annual billing is announced with a 20% saving, and prices are displayed in USD only. One credit covers a standard generation, while an HD export, a mockup render or an image-to-pattern generation each cost two credits. Credits reset at every cycle without carry-over. GDPR overview
The word GDPR appears nowhere on the site, neither in the privacy policy nor in the terms nor on any of the thirteen published pages. The privacy policy (section 7) nevertheless lists GDPR-style rights, namely access, correction, deletion, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, conditional on the user's location and exercised only by email to support@patternaly.com. No Article 27 EU representative, no data protection officer and no DPA are published. Section 10 acknowledges international transfers without naming a destination country or a transfer mechanism. The minimum age of 13 follows the US COPPA threshold, not a GDPR one. Governing law is that of the People's Republic of China, with courts in Shenzhen. Both documents display an effective date of 16 December 2024, a year before the domain was registered, most likely a typo that makes their dating unreliable.
Who owns the data?
Section 6.2 of the terms states that users own the patterns they generate and that paid plans include a commercial licence, while free accounts receive no generation credits and therefore no commercial rights. Section 6.4 specifies that Patternaly claims no ownership over AI-generated patterns, but gives no guarantee that a pattern does not resemble or infringe an existing work: verification is left to the user. Section 6.3 forbids reselling patterns as standalone assets, replicating protected logos or trademarks, and using outputs to train a competing AI service. The privacy policy (2.3) treats prompts, generated images and style preferences as collected user content.
Reuse rights
According to section 3 of the privacy policy, collected data is used to deliver the service, process generations, manage accounts and subscriptions, handle payments and fraud prevention, communicate with users, improve the service and meet legal obligations. Section 4.1 states that prompts are processed in real time and are not permanently stored after generation, and that neither prompts nor generated images are used to train AI models. Section 4.2 acknowledges the use of third-party AI providers, and the terms (7.3) name Hugging Face for AI processing. Section 5 rules out any sale of personal data and limits sharing to service providers (database hosting, payment processing, AI infrastructure), legal obligations, a corporate transfer or the user's consent. Section 4.3 of the privacy policy states only that account data is stored on industry-standard cloud infrastructure, without naming a provider.
