Overview

What is PitchBob?

PitchBob.io is an AI pitch deck generator and startup co-pilot published by Disruptive Partners OÜ, a company registered in Tallinn, Estonia. It is not a slide editor: the product is a step-by-step question-and-answer chatbot, nicknamed Bob, built on its own methodology and dialogue structure, so the bot decides what to ask and in what order. Answers can be typed or spoken, and two buttons sit beside every question — “Help me to answer”, which drafts a suggestion from previous answers, and “Teach me”, which plays a short video. The user then picks between their own wording and the bot's, asks for other versions, goes Back to fix an answer or Skips a question. The output is a document set rather than a single file. The home page details around twenty deliverables: pitch deck, business model, financial model, lean canvas, investor matching, promotional newsletter, landing page, logo, business plan, a 100-step roadmap, startup visa files, accelerator applications, blurb, sales deck, investor letter, founders agreement, equity tracker, curated databases, an All-in-One document, an SEO article, TAM/SAM/SOM sizing, an 11-criteria score, a pitch trainer and partner perks. Documents arrive by email in batches over a few hours, the email address doubling as the account identifier. The engine is named in the refund policy as the OpenAI ChatGPT-4 API, and the About page says the product is powered by ChatGPT. Access is not limited to the website: the chat also runs on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram, with Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations and a Discord connector still announced as upcoming. Three commercial ranges coexist — one-time plans at $29.90, $49.90 and $99.90, a monthly Co-Pilot subscription, and human services (consultants, scouting, feedback, outreach, mentoring, grants) alongside a white-label offer. The project traces back to a 2016 Lean Startup workshop whose first MVP was a Word template; it became a chatbot during COVID and switched to generative AI in 2023. Founder Dima Maslennikov is an entrepreneur with three exits, a Google Launchpad and Founder Institute mentor, and a business angel. Audience claims differ from page to page: 60,183 entrepreneurs on the home page, 35,000+ in one of its blocks and 14,000 startups on the how-it-works page. The publisher positions the tool explicitly against using ChatGPT alone, and states plainly that it is not a design tool.

What it does

  • Generate a full pitch deck from a guided chat, with 10+ design templates and export to PPTX, PDF or Keynote.
  • Produce the surrounding investor pack: one-pager, blurb, elevator pitch, sales deck, executive summary and investor letter.
  • Build the strategy documents: business model, lean canvas, value proposition, financial model and a detailed business plan.
  • Reformulate and clarify the statement of the business idea itself.
  • Run market work: TAM/SAM/SOM sizing, competitor SWOT and a data-room-ready Q&A document.
  • Match the deck against a 150,000-investor database and return a shortlist of 50.
  • Pre-fill startup visa files for 9 countries and applications for 21 accelerator programmes.
Audience

When to use PitchBob / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if PitchBob is the right fit.

When to use PitchBob

  • First-time founders with no pitching or design background, looking for a structured way out of the blank-page problem the site takes as its starting point.
  • Students and intrapreneurs who need to package an idea into investor-facing documents quickly, without commissioning a consultant.
  • Solo founders who want a whole set at once — deck, one-pager, business plan, lean canvas, financial model — rather than a single slide file.
  • Applicants to startup visa schemes (9 countries) or accelerator programmes (21 pre-filled application files), and founders exploring European grants.
  • Accelerators, incubators, universities, venture studios, VC funds and government hubs that want to run the workflow under their own brand, through the white-label offer from $99 per month.

When not to use PitchBob

  • Anyone shopping for a design tool: PitchBob states it is not one, and its AI “functions solely with text and does not involve the visual aspects or design elements”.
  • Users who need slide-by-slide art direction or brand-exact layouts — the PDF ($19.90) and PPTX ($39.90) exports ship with no specific design.
  • Developers who want to embed the generator in their own product: there is no public API and no API documentation.
  • Founders expecting finished documents with no effort of their own — the output tracks the quality of the answers given, and the publisher warns the bot may hallucinate when information is thin.
  • Teams running an already-funded company and looking for ongoing management tooling: the product is aimed at the earliest stage, beyond the monthly Co-Pilot subscription.
Get started

How to use PitchBob

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Pick a channel: the web chat at pitchbob.io/webchat, or Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Telegram. If you already have a deck or one-pager, you can instead drop the file into the chat for the $99 rework and translation route.
  2. Create an account with a valid email address: it serves as your identifier and receives the documents.
  3. Answer the bot's structured questionnaire, one question at a time, by text or by voice.
  4. Use the help buttons: “Help me to answer” drafts a suggestion from your previous answers, “Teach me” plays a short video.
  5. Arbitrate between your own wording and the bot's, and ask for fresh versions when the answer is not right yet.
  6. Use Back to correct an answer and Skip to pass a question; the financial model and fundraising blocks can also be postponed to a later iteration.
  7. Respect the character limits shown and avoid pasting large volumes of text.
  8. Choose one of the 10+ design templates when the bot asks for it.
  9. Enter a promo code through “Redeem promo code” at the end of the dialogue, then pay for the plan through Stripe.
  10. Collect the documents — part in the chat, the bulk by email in staggered batches — then iterate by restarting a cycle (Quit, then Hello) or move on to the monthly Co-Pilot follow-up.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • A single dialogue produces a very broad document set, where most competing tools stop at the deck itself.
  • The flow is guided: the bot knows what to ask and in what order, which helps when the user does not yet know what to look for.
  • Low entry point — $29.90 as a one-time payment — with a free plan and a free All-in-One tool alongside it.
  • Reachable from consumer messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger), not only from the web.
  • Voice input is accepted on the same footing as typing, and the outputs are editable (PPTX) and translatable, with a generated landing page in 14 languages.
  • Side tools come at no extra cost: founders agreement, equity tracker, investor and grant databases, 400+ perks; the interface itself is offered in 9 languages.
  • A genuine institutional offer exists — white label from $99 per month for accelerators, universities and funds — and support answers within a stated 24 hours, 9am to 6pm CET, Monday to Friday.

Cons

  • No public API: PitchBob cannot be embedded in a third-party product or workflow.
  • No fine graphic control — the AI works on text only and never touches the design of the deliverables.
  • Refunds are limited to technical failures; dissatisfaction with the result opens no right to one.
  • Thin data documentation: a privacy policy dated 1 June 2023 built on a generic template, no clause on model training, no documented opt-out, no named subprocessor, no DPA offered and no published security certification.
  • The services are hosted in the United States although the publisher is Estonian, and the Terms name Israeli law as governing.
  • Documents are delivered by email in batches rather than as an immediate full download, and the result depends on the quality of the answers given, with a hallucination risk the publisher itself acknowledges.
  • Site upkeep shows gaps: audience figures differ from page to page (60,183 on the home page, 35,000+ in one of its blocks, 14,000 startups on the how-it-works page), the home page's “Live example” link returns HTTP 404, the Advanced Research block is still Coming Soon, and the Discord integration announced for Q4 2025 is still listed as upcoming.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how PitchBob handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy devotes a section to GDPR and UK GDPR legal bases, naming consent, contract performance, legal obligations and legitimate interests. Rights are set out for the EEA, the United Kingdom and Canada: access and a copy, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, with consent withdrawable at any time. Requests go through a DSAR form hosted by Termly and linked in the footer, or by email to hi@pitchbob.io; postal contact is Disruptive Partners OÜ in Tallinn, Estonia. California (CCPA) and Virginia (CDPA) notices are also included. Two limits deserve naming: no data protection officer is appointed and no Article 27 representative is designated, and although the publisher is established in the EU, the services are hosted in the United States, a transfer consented to by use. The phrase “GDPR compliant” never appears on the site.

Who owns the data?

Under the Terms, PitchBob owns or licenses the service itself, its content, software and trademarks. Two clauses move rights the other way. Any question, comment, suggestion, idea or feedback sent to the publisher counts as a Submission, and all intellectual property rights in it are assigned to the company, with no compensation. Anything posted as a Contribution is covered by an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide licence that includes copying, reselling, publishing and translating it, together with the user's name, trademarks and logos. Users warrant they own what they submit and stay solely responsible for it. The FAQ adds that the administrator can see every answer and every generated document.

Reuse rights

The privacy policy, dated 1 June 2023 and built on a Termly template, declares the collection of names, phone numbers and email addresses, with sensitive categories processed only on consent or another legal basis. Data may also come from third parties: public databases, marketing partners and social networks. The stated purposes are providing, improving and administering the service, communicating with users, security and fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Cookies and tracking technologies are used, and Google Tag Manager is present on the site. Recipients are described by category only, never by name: Cloud Computing Services, Payment Processors, Data Analytics Services, Ad Networks, Retargeting Platforms, Government Entities and others. The California section states that no personal data has been sold to third parties and commits not to. The engine behind the bot is named in the refund policy as the OpenAI ChatGPT-4 API, and nothing in the document addresses model training on customer data.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Section 6 of the privacy policy says personal information is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described, or longer where the law requires it, and it sets an explicit ceiling: no purpose in the notice will require keeping personal information for longer than 10 years. Once that period ends, data is deleted or anonymised; where deletion is not possible, it is isolated in backup storage. Users can ask for access, correction or erasure through the Termly DSAR form linked in the footer or by writing to hi@pitchbob.io, and California residents under 18 can have publicly posted content removed. Two gaps are worth noting: data may survive in backups after a deletion request, and no specific retention period is given for the generated documents or for the chat transcripts.

Hosting summary

The Terms state plainly that the Services are hosted in the United States, and that transferring data there from any other region is consented to by using the product. The publisher, Disruptive Partners OÜ, is established in Tallinn, Estonia, inside the European Union, while a separate US entity, PitchBob, Inc, is listed at a San Francisco address. For a European user this means personal data and everything typed into the chat leave the EU by design, under a privacy policy that describes the transfer but designates no Article 27 representative. The site itself is served behind Cloudflare, on the anycast address 198.202.211.1 announced by AS209242 (Cloudflare London LLC), which says nothing about where the application or the generated documents are actually stored. What is not documented matters as much: no alternative hosting region is announced, no data residency option is offered, and no hosting subprocessor is named, the privacy policy listing only a Cloud Computing Services category. Anyone with a data localisation requirement will have to raise it directly with the publisher at hi@pitchbob.io.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting PitchBob.

  • The Submissions clause assigns full intellectual property in any idea, suggestion or feedback sent to the publisher, with no compensation; the Contributions licence is unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual and worldwide, and covers resale and publication.
  • Every answer and every generated document is visible to the administrator, so anyone describing a confidential idea should assume it will be read.
  • Governing law and exclusive jurisdiction are Israeli — neither Estonia nor the user's own country — while the services are hosted in the United States, a transfer consented to simply by using the product.
  • Refunds are excluded outside a technical failure, including when the user is unsatisfied with the results, so a purchase should be treated as final.
  • The privacy policy has not changed since 1 June 2023, sits on a generic template with no AI clause, names no subprocessor, offers no DPA and no security certification, and announces retention of up to 10 years as a ceiling.
  • Two different Estonian addresses coexist on the site — Tornimäe tn 3/5/7, 10145 in the home page footer against A. H. Tammsaare tee, 11316 in the Terms and the privacy policy — and the domain is registered to a holder declared in Israel, distinct from the Estonian and US entities displayed.
  • Leaning on the questionnaire can quietly replace the founder's own thinking: the documents read as finished work, but their quality tracks the quality of the answers, and the publisher warns that “in case of insufficient information, the bot might hallucinate, and the final documents will require tuning and revision from your side”.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Setup is minimal. Nothing is installed: the tool runs in a web chat or inside a messaging app the user already has: WhatsApp, Telegram or Messenger. The only prerequisite is a valid email address, which doubles as the account identifier. No design or writing skill is required, with no configuration, no API key and no technical integration to plan. Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations exist for team deployment. The real effort is answering the questionnaire well: the All-in-One document is announced at around five minutes of chat, while full document sets arrive in batches over a few hours.

Fundraising

No funding round is announced anywhere on the site: the About, History, Founder and News & Product Updates pages mention none.
A dedicated search found no documented raise either; aggregators describe a self-funded product.
The partnerships announced (HubSpot in April 2025, ISDI Education in March 2025, Infoshare in March 2025) are commercial, not financial.
Founder Dima Maslennikov is himself a business angel, with a personal portfolio including Turing, People.ai, OpenWeb and Trax — unconnected to any financing of PitchBob.

Conclusion

Should you pick PitchBob?

PitchBob is best understood as an idea-packaging tool rather than a design tool, and the publisher says so itself. Its value lies in structure and documentary completeness: one guided dialogue produces a deck, a one-pager, a business plan, a lean canvas, a financial model and a long tail of side documents that most single-purpose generators do not attempt. For a first-time founder, a student or an intrapreneur facing a blank page, that breadth is the point. The price-to-deliverables ratio is unusual on this segment: the entry plan is a one-time $29.90 payment rather than a subscription, a free plan and a free All-in-One tool exist, and the monthly Co-Pilot only becomes relevant for founders who want continuing follow-up, from $19.90 per month on a twelve-month commitment. The reservations are documentary rather than functional. The privacy policy is a generic template dated 1 June 2023, the services are hosted in the United States although the publisher is Estonian, the governing law is Israeli, and nothing is said about whether customer data feeds model training. No subprocessor is named, no DPA is offered, and refunds are restricted to technical failures. The tool therefore suits early-stage work and support programmes — accelerators, incubators and universities also have a white-label route from $99 per month. It suits far less anyone who needs art direction, a programmatic integration or a contractual footing they can show to a legal department. Three things are worth checking before committing: whether the documents a plan promises match what you actually need, since delivery arrives by email in batches; how much the output depends on the quality of your own answers, a dependency the publisher acknowledges; and whether the Submissions and Contributions clauses in the Terms are acceptable, since they assign or licence broadly whatever you send in.
