What is Plazmapunk?
Plazmapunk is an AI music video generator published by AdaLab UG, a German company based in Ahrensburg. You bring the music; the tool analyses the track's rhythm, mood and structure and builds a video that follows it. Everything runs in the browser at app.plazmapunk.com, with nothing to install.
Since version 2.0 there are three ways in. One Prompt Video takes a single written idea and returns a finished clip. The Scene Editor hands over control: you build the film shot by shot, edit each prompt, insert new scenes between existing ones, re-take the ones that miss, import clips from other projects, cut against the waveform, then stitch your selection into a final export. Spotify Canvas produces the short 9:16 vertical loops that streaming profiles use.
Under the hood Plazmapunk runs several models rather than one. Still frames come from Kandinsky 2.2, Stable Diffusion XL and ZImageTurbo, with FLUX[schnell] handling thumbnails. Veo covers the premium end, generating more realistic four, six or eight second clips in all three modes. Gemini 3 Flash powers track analysis, style suggestions, the Magic Enhance feature and a lyrics cleanup pass that strips transcription artefacts out of silent passages. An AI Director turns a one-line story into detailed scene prompts, and the homepage also advertises AI music generation for original soundtracks.
Input is an MP3 or WAV file of at least fifteen seconds; output is MP4 in H.264. A render usually takes two to four minutes. The economy runs on credits: 200 granted free on sign-up, then roughly one to two credits per second of standard video and fifty to a hundred per second for Veo, with unused credits rolling over on paid plans.
Around the generator sits a community, with a public gallery that supports voting and tags, a Discord server, and usage the company puts at more than 100,000 creators. The team shown on the site is three people: Florian Woeste as chief executive, Anton Wiehe as chief technology officer and Alexander Busch on quality assurance. A developer API is advertised, though access goes through the contact form rather than public documentation.

GDPR overview
AdaLab UG is established in Germany, so the GDPR applies to Plazmapunk as a matter of law, but the site never says so. Neither GDPR nor DSGVO appears anywhere across the eleven pages collected, and no data protection officer, no Article 27 representative and no legal basis for processing is named. What is documented is practical rather than formal: an account and all data attached to it, uploaded songs included, can be deleted permanently from the account settings; contact form data is kept until you ask for its deletion, withdraw consent or the purpose lapses, subject to statutory retention periods; Matomo tracking can be disabled from the footer. There is no data processing agreement on offer, no subprocessor list and no stated hosting location, and the privacy policy carries a single date, March 2024.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of use, you own the assets you create with Plazmapunk. That ownership comes with a broad reservation attached: by using the service you grant AdaLab, its successors and assigns a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicensable, royalty-free and irrevocable copyright licence to reproduce, adapt, publicly display, perform, sublicense and distribute both your uploads and the videos produced. That licence survives termination of the agreement by any party, for any reason. AdaLab also warns that outputs may not be unique between users. Uploaded songs are stored on its servers, tied to your account, and are not shared with third parties without your explicit consent.
Reuse rights
You may reuse your own videos without asking AdaLab for permission, and commercial rights are included with every paid plan; the free plan is personal use only. The restrictions run the other way: the terms forbid using the platform for benchmarking or competitive research, scraping it, building a derivative product from it, or reselling access. Responsibility for the music stays with you, since you must own the track or have cleared it. On AdaLab's side, the terms expressly authorise the company to use any content, upload or asset to train machine learning models, and no opt-out is documented. Plazmapunk publishes no hosting information. Neither the privacy policy, the terms of use nor the imprint names a country, a region or a cloud provider, and the privacy policy says only that uploaded songs are stored on the company's servers. What can be established is jurisdictional rather than technical: AdaLab UG is registered in Ahrensburg, Germany, under the Hamburg commercial register, the terms are governed by German law, and the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Hamburg. That places the company inside the European Union and within GDPR scope, but it says nothing about where the data itself sits. A DNS lookup on the marketing site resolves to an Amazon-operated anycast node exiting in the United States, which describes the website's delivery network rather than the storage of user tracks and videos, and should not be read as a hosting statement. Matomo is named as the analytics service, again with no hosting location given. Anyone with a data residency requirement will need to ask AdaLab directly.
