Overview

What is Potis AI?

Potis AI is a recruitment platform published by Potis Inc, a Delaware company, and reached through a browser at app.potis.ai. Its premise is that résumés stopped showing what a person can actually do, so instead of filtering applications on keywords it interviews everyone. The hiring team describes the role, the platform derives the skills to assess, the key questions and a business scenario, and each candidate is then invited by the platform itself to a virtual interview conducted as a chat or a voice conversation with a virtual assistant.

Three modules are sold. AI Video Screening automates the first round across the whole applicant pool. AI Behavioural Assessment runs a STAR-style interview built on a scenario modelled on the employer's real situations, to observe how a candidate decides, prioritises and collaborates. AI Interview Assistance joins a live video call on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams once its email address is added to the invitation, then suggests questions, transcribes the conversation in full, summarises it and highlights strengths.

Around those modules the site lays out a six-stage path — Role Clarity, Talent Reach, Screening, Behaviour Insight, Interview Assist and Final Compare — presented elsewhere as four AI agents covering sourcing, screening, assessment and interviewing. The vendor puts the human effort at roughly 32 minutes from sourcing to offer, and claims the process surfaces the top 5% worth a recruiter's time. What comes out is a performance heat map, a skill tree of strengths and weaknesses, a unified score, and automatic personalised feedback to every candidate, including those turned down.

Potis AI claims more than 100,000 candidates assessed, a 95% interview completion rate, roughly 55% lower cost per vacancy and 30,000 recruiter hours saved on screening. A separate candidate-facing side offers mock video interviews of 15 to 25 minutes, feedback within minutes and career coaching. Use is strictly business-to-business: the terms prohibit consumer use, and the hiring decision remains entirely the customer's. Entry pricing is 99 USD per month with a five-day trial, and the three higher tiers are quote-only. At the time of this review the application itself did not respond.

What it does

  • Interview every applicant automatically, by chat or by voice, with nothing to schedule
  • Run a STAR behavioural assessment on a business scenario modelled on your own company
  • Return a performance heat map, a skill tree of strengths and weaknesses, and a fit recommendation for each candidate
  • Send personalised written feedback to every candidate, not only to the shortlisted ones
  • Sit in on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams interviews to suggest questions, transcribe and summarise
  • Define the role brief, draft the job post, distribute it to job boards and source on professional networks
  • Benchmark, rank and compare finalists side by side before deciding

When to use Potis AI / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Potis AI is the right fit.

When to use Potis AI

  • Hiring managers drowning in applications who still want every candidate interviewed rather than filtered out on CV keywords
  • Small and remote tech teams hiring across time zones, since screenings run asynchronously around the clock
  • Founders and solo hiring managers who need unlimited vacancies on a single seat at a published price
  • Recruiters filling management-level roles, where the vendor's own named customers report the largest time and cost savings
  • Job seekers preparing for interviews, who are offered a free mock video interview and structured feedback within minutes

When not to use Potis AI

  • Individuals and households: the terms restrict access to authorised representatives of a business and expressly prohibit consumer use
  • Buyers who need a signed DPA, a subprocessor list or an EU Article 27 representative, none of which the site publishes
  • Organisations required to keep candidate data inside the European Union, since the terms commit to US data centres only
  • Teams that need a firm budget before talking to anyone, as three of the four tiers are quote-only
  • Anyone who must start immediately: as of 17 August 2026 the sign-up, login and demo links all return a server error

How to use Potis AI

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Sign up at app.potis.ai and open the five-day free trial on the Personal tier
  2. Paste an existing job description, or generate one with the AI assistant
  3. Review the skills and discussion topics the platform proposes: they become the scoring grid
  4. Let the platform generate the interview questions and build the business scenario
  5. Enter each candidate's contact details; the platform sends the interview invitation itself
  6. Let the chat or voice interviews run asynchronously, around the clock, without supervision
  7. For live interviews, add the assistant's email address to your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams invitation
  8. Read the per-candidate reports: heat map, skill tree, transcript, summary and fit recommendation
  9. Compare and rank the finalists, then make the decision yourself
  10. On the Recruiter and Enterprise tiers, push scores into your ATS, connect the API, and apply your branding, custom domain and single sign-on

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Every applicant is interviewed instead of being screened out on CV keywords, which two named customers cite as the main change
  • Every candidate receives detailed feedback, which few hiring processes offer
  • The entry price is public and low for the category: 99 USD per month with unlimited vacancies
  • Unlimited vacancies from the first tier and unlimited users from the second
  • The five-day trial starts without going through a salesperson
  • Asynchronous and always on, which suits distributed teams and candidates in other time zones
  • Hosting is contractually restricted to US data centres, a written commitment that is unusual at this price

Cons

  • As of 17 August 2026 the application is unreachable: sign-up, login and the homepage demo link all return a server error
  • No email address is published anywhere on the site, for support, legal or privacy matters; contact runs through a web form or the founder's booking page
  • The privacy policy twice points to contact details at the end of the page, and that section does not exist
  • Three of the four tiers are quote-only, so the real cost of team use cannot be known without a sales call
  • No DPA, no subprocessor list, no Article 27 representative, no data protection officer, and no explicit GDPR compliance claim
  • Nothing is said about whether customer or candidate data trains AI models, so there is no opt-out to rely on
  • The API is sold on two tiers but no public documentation exists, and the site's editorial content has not moved since April 2025

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Potis AI handles your data.

GDPR overview

Implementation is thin and largely implicit. The site never claims GDPR compliance in so many words. The regulation appears once, in clause 5 of the terms, and only to allocate roles: Potis Inc is the processor, the customer the controller. The privacy policy acknowledges that automatically collected data may qualify as personal data in jurisdictions including the European Economic Area, and lists rights of access, rectification, deletion and restriction of processing, subject to applicable law; portability and objection are not mentioned. It then directs readers to contact details at the end of the page, and no such section exists. There is no published DPA, no subprocessor list, no data protection officer, no Article 27 EU representative and no transfer mechanism named, even though hosting is exclusively in the United States.

Who owns the data?

The terms make the customer the controller of candidate personal data and Potis Inc the processor, so the hiring company carries responsibility for the lawfulness of the processing. Ownership of uploaded content stays with the customer, but the customer grants Potis Inc a non-exclusive licence, unlimited in territory and in duration, to use that content as far as performing the contract requires, including reproducing it and making it available to candidates according to the customer's settings. Potis Inc may sublicense to its own assistants, may entrust its contractual obligations to third parties, and may keep backup copies and accounting, documentation and billing records after the contract ends. It states that it neither sells nor leases personal information.

Reuse rights

Rights of use are narrow. The customer receives a non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right, limited to the contract term, and may use the platform for internal purposes only: letting third parties use it, or running recruitment processes on behalf of other companies, requires a separate written agreement. Source code access is excluded. On the data itself, the platform collects candidate contact details, work history, skills, qualifications, working style, interview answers and video or audio submissions, plus site telemetry such as IP address, device type and identifiers, browser, coarse location and page interactions. Potis says it does not solicit sensitive data such as health, financial or government identifiers, and that it does not sell or lease personal information. Data is shared with prospective employers, with legal and regulatory bodies where the law requires it, with unnamed hosting and analytics providers, and with an unnamed third-party meeting capture API under a contract limiting its use, retention and disclosure. The site says nothing at all about whether customer or candidate data is used to train AI models.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Potis says it keeps personal data only while a legitimate business or legal purpose lasts, then deletes or anonymises it securely, and reviews retention periods regularly. Detailed interview information is kept only until all interviews for a vacancy are complete, after which it is deleted, and it is never shared with candidates. Deleting an account or requesting deletion triggers prompt removal. When a contract ends, the terms say Potis deletes the customer's data, but also that Potis is entitled, though not obliged, to keep it for two years for security reasons, and longer where commercial or tax law requires. Backup copies and billing records may also outlive the contract. No duration is given for site logs, cookies, video recordings or transcripts.

Hosting summary

Clause 2 of the terms commits Potis Inc to providing the service exclusively from data centres within the United States, and defines the place of service transmission as the outbound router of the data centre it uses. No hosting provider is named and no European region is offered. The privacy policy adds that data is shared with third-party providers of essential support services such as hosting and analytics, again without naming them, and that certain data is disclosed to a third-party meeting capture API under a contract restricting that provider's use, retention and disclosure. No transfer mechanism is documented for European data: no standard contractual clauses, no adequacy decision. On the network side, the marketing site is served behind Cloudflare on an anycast address, while the application subdomains resolve to a separate DigitalOcean address. Buyers with an EU data residency requirement should treat the United States commitment as a hard constraint rather than a default that can be changed on request.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Potis AI.

  • As of 17 August 2026 the application does not answer: sign-up, login and the candidate demo link all return a server error, so a paid subscription could buy access to nothing
  • It is easy to let a heat map and a unified score stand in for judgement; the terms are explicit that the hiring decision remains yours, and a behavioural model can be confidently wrong about a person
  • Total liability is capped at fifty US dollars, however many claims are brought
  • The customer grants Potis Inc a licence, unlimited in territory and in duration, over all content sent to its servers as far as performing the contract requires
  • Merely using a trial or free version authorises Potis Inc to use your company name, logo and employees' testimonials for marketing until you object in writing
  • No email address is published anywhere, so exercising data rights means a web form or a calendar booking, and the privacy policy points to contact details that do not exist
  • Candidates never see the detailed interview data held about them, and it is deleted once the vacancy closes, leaving little with which to contest an evaluation
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for the standard path. Nothing is installed: the platform runs in a browser, and the vendor claims a five-minute start. You paste a job description, review the suggested skills and enter a candidate's details, and the platform writes the questions and sends the invitation itself. The live interview assistant needs only an email address added to a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams invitation. ATS and API integration, single sign-on and a custom domain sit on the upper tiers and require technical work, with no public API documentation to prepare it. As of 17 August 2026, sign-up itself fails.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does Potis AI actually do?
It runs automated behavioural interviews with every applicant, as a chat or a voice conversation with a virtual assistant, using questions and a business scenario generated from the job description. It then returns a performance heat map, a skill tree of strengths and weaknesses and a fit recommendation for each candidate, and sends every candidate personalised written feedback.
How much does it cost, and is there a free plan?
The Personal tier is 99 USD per month for one user with unlimited vacancies, and opens with a five-day free trial. The Team, Recruiter and Enterprise tiers are quote-only. The pricing page shows no permanent free plan, although other pages advertise closing one job for free and a free mock interview without tying either to a tier.
Which video conferencing tools does the interview assistant work with?
Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. You add the assistant's email address to your online interview invitation, and it then suggests questions, transcribes the whole conversation, summarises it and highlights the candidate's strengths. Past and scheduled meetings can be viewed per vacancy across the team.
Can Potis AI be connected to an applicant tracking system?
Yes, on the Recruiter and Enterprise tiers, which include both ATS integration and API integration. No specific ATS is named anywhere on the site, and no public API documentation is published, so the integration work has to be scoped with the vendor directly.
Where is candidate data hosted?
Clause 2 of the terms commits Potis Inc to providing the service exclusively from data centres within the United States. No hosting provider is named and no European region is offered. Nor is any transfer mechanism documented for European data, such as standard contractual clauses.
Is candidate data used to train AI models?
The site does not say, in either direction. No document on potis.ai mentions training AI models on customer or candidate data, so there is no commitment not to do it and no opt-out to point to. Buyers who need that assurance will have to obtain it in writing.
How do I contact Potis Inc, and how do I exercise my data rights?
No email address is published anywhere on the site. The only routes are the web form and a Cal.com booking link labelled Contact Us in the footer. The privacy policy asks readers to use the contact information at the end of the page in order to exercise access, rectification, deletion or restriction rights, but that section does not exist.
Does the AI make the hiring decision?
No. The terms state plainly that deciding which candidates proceed, and whom to hire, is solely the customer's. Potis AI produces structured assessments, scores and comparisons; the judgement stays with the hiring team.
Can an individual sign up to practise interviews?
The candidate-facing pages advertise free mock video interviews of 15 to 25 minutes with feedback and career coaching. However, the terms restrict access to authorised representatives of a business and expressly prohibit consumer use, and non-commercial use is listed as grounds for blocking an account.
Conclusion

Should you pick Potis AI?

Potis AI rests on a genuinely useful idea: if candidates now tune their résumés with AI to get past filters, then screening on résumés selects for the wrong thing, so interview everybody instead. The execution described on the site is coherent. Questions and a business scenario are generated from the job description, every applicant sits a structured behavioural interview by chat or voice, and what comes back is a heat map, a skill tree, a unified score and written feedback for each person, including those rejected. Unlimited vacancies from 99 USD per month, with a five-day trial that needs no sales call, is a low entry point for that scope, and the contractual promise to host only in US data centres is more than most vendors put in writing at this price.

The reservations are substantial, and two are practical rather than editorial. First, the compliance file is thin: no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list, no EU representative, no data protection officer, no explicit GDPR compliance claim, complete silence on whether data trains AI models, and a privacy policy that twice sends readers to contact details that are not on the page. No email address is published anywhere on the site. Second, and more immediately, at the time of this review the product itself did not answer: the sign-up, login and candidate demo links all returned a server error, and the site's editorial content had not moved since April 2025.

The honest reading is therefore conditional. The approach deserves attention and the entry price is attractive, but anyone considering Potis AI should confirm that the platform is actually running, and obtain the missing data protection commitments in writing, before committing candidates' personal data or a budget to it.
