PressPulse AI
PressPulse AI is an AI assistant for media outreach that monitors journalist requests across HARO, Substack, Twitter, LinkedIn and more, surfaces only the queries matching your expertise, and helps you draft and refine each pitch.
What is PressPulse AI?
PressPulse AI is an AI assistant for earned media: it watches the places where journalists ask for expert sources, decides which of those requests actually fit you, and helps you answer them. The company positions it as a successor to HARO, the service that connected reporters and sources for years and whose successor Connectively shut down in December 2024 — an event the vendor's own blog ties to a 50% to 64% drop in journalist request volume since 2024.
The product works in three stages. First it reads your profile: professional background, areas of expertise and the media goals you declare. Then it monitors journalist requests published daily across several platforms — HARO, Substack, Twitter, LinkedIn and Help A B2B Writer are named on the homepage, while the terms add Connectively, Featured and Qwoted — and scores each one against that profile. The homepage claims this filtering delivers 96% less spam than other HARO-style platforms. Finally it pushes what survives to you, either as instant FirstMover notifications or as three digests a day, with the outlet's domain authority and backlink policy attached so you can judge where the effort is worth spending.
From there the AI helps you write: brainstorming angles, producing a draft, giving feedback on it, and running a GPTZero check so your text does not read as machine-generated. It stops short of sending anything. Automated pitch writing and sending are explicitly refused by the vendor, which frames authenticity as the whole point; you send your own pitches, in your own name.
The platform has two sides. Experts pay: Pro at $36 a month, Agency at $80 a month plus $39 per profile for teams handling several clients. Journalists do not: submitting a query is free, and the vendor advertises a vetted pool of 5,100 sources, an 83% email open rate and an email relay that keeps a reporter's address private.
PressPulse AI runs as a web application at app.presspulse.ai with email notifications; there is no mobile app, browser extension or public API. It is published by Solar Flare Ventures Inc., a Canadian federal company founded in Toronto by Elvis Sun and incorporated on 3 November 2023.

When to use PressPulse AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if PressPulse AI is the right fit.
When to use PressPulse AI
- Established experts and thought leaders who want media coverage but no time to sift through journalist queries
- Founders, consultants and coaches building authority through expert commentary
- PR and communications managers running media relations in-house, without an agency
- SEO and growth marketers chasing editorial backlinks from high-authority outlets
- Agencies handling press outreach for several clients on the multi-profile Agency plan
When not to use PressPulse AI
- Newcomers with no established track record: the vendor states the tool targets seasoned professionals, not people starting out
- Anyone expecting pitches to be written and sent automatically, which PressPulse explicitly refuses to do
- Buyers who need a permanent free tier: beyond the seven-day trial, a paid subscription is required
- Teams that need an API, a mobile app or a browser extension, none of which exists
- Organisations whose procurement requires a signed DPA, a subprocessor list or a documented GDPR position
How to use PressPulse AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Start the seven-day free trial from the homepage; no credit card is asked for
- Build your expert profile: background, areas of expertise and the coverage you are aiming for
- Choose how you want to be alerted, with instant FirstMover notifications or three digests a day
- Review the matched journalist requests, each with its domain authority and backlink policy
- Tune the feed with favourites, a blocklist and domain-authority thresholds
- Use the AI to brainstorm an angle, generate a draft and get feedback on your pitch
- Run the GPTZero check, then edit the text back into your own voice
- Send the pitch yourself to the journalist and follow up if they answer
- Watch for the notification telling you an article quoting you has been published
- On the Agency plan, add client profiles, invite team members and pipe the feed into Slack, Airtable or Google Sheets
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Removes the manual triage that made HARO-style outreach a chore, with a claimed 96% cut in irrelevant queries
- Pulls from several sources at once, which matters now that HARO and Connectively are gone
- Domain authority and backlink policy shown up front, so SEO-driven users can prioritise
- AI support across the whole pitch, from angle to final review, including a GPTZero check
- Seven-day trial without a credit card, cancellation at any time and three months free on annual billing
- A 30-day publicity guarantee: full refund if five pitches in thirty days produce no coverage
- Free and unlimited for journalists, with an email relay that protects their address
Cons
- No permanent free plan on the expert side: after seven days a subscription is required
- The Agency plan adds $39 per client profile per month on top of its $80 base
- Prices are shown as bare dollar amounts, with no currency code anywhere on the site
- No public API, no mobile app and no browser extension
- No GDPR statement, no DPA, no subprocessor list and no hosting country disclosed
- Terms and privacy policy untouched since 9 December 2024, and no postal address published
- The tool depends on third-party sources whose volume the vendor itself reports falling 50% to 64% since 2024
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan on the expert side of PressPulse AI, only a seven-day free trial that does not require a credit card. The cheapest paid entry point is the Pro plan at 36.00 USD per month, with three months free on annual billing; the Agency plan starts at 80.00 USD per month plus 39.00 USD per client profile per month. Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how PressPulse AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no GDPR implementation to report: the words "GDPR" and "General Data Protection Regulation" appear nowhere on the site, neither in the privacy policy nor in the terms, and no Article 27 EU representative, no Data Processing Agreement and no subprocessor list is published. What the privacy policy does offer is a designated Data Protection Officer, reachable at support@presspulse.ai; rights of access, correction, deletion and portability exercised from the account dashboard or through the privacy team; a stated response time of 48 hours for urgent matters and around 30 days for formal requests; international transfers covered by standard contractual clauses and data protection agreements; and a minimum age of 16. A dedicated section covers California CCPA rights. The policy is governed by Canadian law, with exclusive jurisdiction in Ontario, and was last updated on 9 December 2024.
Who owns the data?
Under the Terms of Service you keep full ownership of everything you create, submit or display on PressPulse AI. By using the service you grant a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, reproduce and distribute that content, but only to deliver and improve the service: displaying it inside the platform, submitting it to media opportunities, analysing it for matching, and improving the AI matching algorithms. The licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for material already shared with other users or kept for legal, security or technical reasons. The vendor claims no ownership and undertakes never to sell or transfer your content without your explicit consent.
Reuse rights
You keep control of what you put in and of what comes out. The terms confirm that you own your User Content and place no restriction on reusing the pitches you build with the AI's help: you edit them and send them yourself, in your own name. The one condition attached is compliance. By using the service you authorise PressPulse AI to act on your behalf on third-party platforms such as HARO, Connectively, Featured and Qwoted, and you remain responsible for respecting those platforms' own rules on submissions and on the use of information obtained there; that authorisation can be revoked at any time through your settings or by contacting the vendor. On the company's side, your data is used to match you with journalist requests, to personalise the platform, and to run support and billing. Relevant parts of your profile — professional credentials, expertise areas and the contact details you designate for media work — are shared with journalists when you engage with an opportunity, while your past responses and interaction history stay private unless you share them. The privacy policy adds that the AI system continuously learns from user interactions to improve match accuracy, and no opt-out from that is documented.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
PressPulse AI does not say where its data is hosted. The privacy policy refers only to "secure cloud hosting providers", which it never names, alongside payment processors and specialised AI services described in equally generic terms. What the policy does establish is jurisdiction: the service is explicitly based in Canada, it may transfer, store and process information in other countries, and it states that such transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses and data protection agreements with its providers. The policy is governed by Canadian law, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Ontario. Security is described in general terms only, with enterprise-grade encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular audits and continuous monitoring, and no certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed. On the infrastructure side, the domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast address, which identifies the CDN sitting in front of the site and says nothing about where user data actually lives. No hosting country and no hosting region can therefore be stated.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting PressPulse AI.
- Handing relevance judgement to an AI narrows your media horizon: you only ever see what the model considers a match
- Leaning on AI drafts can flatten the personal voice journalists are looking for, which is precisely why a GPTZero check ships with the tool
- Your profile, expertise and designated contact details are shared with journalists once you engage, and published exposure cannot be taken back
- The terms let the tool act on your behalf on HARO, Connectively, Featured and Qwoted, while you remain responsible for respecting those platforms' rules
- Content you submit falls under a licence that includes improving the AI matching algorithms, with no documented way to opt out
- Chasing mentions and backlinks can turn into a volume game: the refund guarantee itself is measured in pitches sent, not in stories well told
- Compliance-minded buyers get almost nothing to work with: no GDPR position, no DPA, no subprocessor list, no hosting country, legal pages frozen since December 2024
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Setup is non-technical. You create an account, start the seven-day trial without a card, and the only real work is writing your expert profile, since match quality depends on it; the vendor publishes a guide for that step, and one reviewer notes the leads are good once the profile is set up well. After that you pick a notification rhythm and add favourites, a blocklist and domain-authority filters. Nothing to install: a web application and email. The Agency plan adds profiles, team seats and Slack, Airtable or Google Sheets connections.

Who is behind the tool?
Should you pick PressPulse AI?
PressPulse AI answers a real and recent problem. HARO and its successor Connectively are gone, journalist requests are scattered across half a dozen platforms, and the vendor's own blog puts the drop in request volume at 50% to 64% since 2024. Filtering what remains by relevance, attaching domain authority data and helping write the pitch is a coherent answer, and the 53 verified reviews published on the site, averaging 4.81 out of 5 and coming from therapists, founders, freelance writers, real estate agents and marketers alike, suggest it works for people who already have something to say.
The limits are just as clear. This is a tool for established experts, and the vendor says so itself. It assists, it does not act: you still write and send every pitch. Beyond seven days it costs $36 a month, and the Agency tier adds $39 per client profile. There is no API, no mobile app and no browser extension.
The weakest area is documentation rather than product. No GDPR mention anywhere, no DPA, no subprocessor list, no hosting country, no postal address, a single support address for legal and data protection questions alike, and legal pages untouched since December 2024. A homepage banner now pushes visitors towards Medialyst, a sibling product from the same founder, under a campaign named migration, which is worth watching even though nothing announces the end of PressPulse.
Verdict: a well-targeted, fairly priced tool for an expert who wants earned media without an agency retainer, with a 30-day refund guarantee that limits the risk of trying it. Buyers with compliance requirements will find very little to hold on to.
