GDPR overview
Prompt Hunt never claims GDPR compliance in so many words, yet its privacy notice, effective 15 September 2022 and unrevised since, does address the regulation substantively. A dedicated section sets out the legal bases relied on under GDPR and UK GDPR: consent, legal obligations and vital interests, with legitimate interests named but not developed. Users in the EEA, the UK and Canada are told they may request access and a copy, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to their supervisory authority, with links to the European Commission directory and the Swiss FDPIC. Requests go through a Termly form or privacy@prompthunt.com. Who owns the data?
Under the terms of service, effective 15 September 2022, you keep what you make: Prompt Hunt asserts no ownership over Contributions, and the FAQ confirms you hold all rights, title and interest in the images you generate, for personal or commercial use. Ownership is not the whole story. Publishing a Contribution automatically grants the company an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free licence to host, copy, sell, resell, publish, broadcast, reformat and distribute it, with a waiver of moral rights, and it may edit, recategorise or delete any contribution without notice. Submissions such as suggestions and feedback become its exclusive property, uncompensated. The site, its content and its models remain Prompt Hunt's.
Reuse rights
End users may reuse their own output without asking permission: the FAQ grants you all rights, title and interest in the images you generate, for personal or commercial purposes. Content published by other members stays with its author, so the community gallery is not a free stock library. On the platform's side, the privacy notice, effective 15 September 2022, lists email addresses and usernames as data you provide, plus automatically collected IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, referring URL, device name, country and usage logs; GPS location may be collected and can be refused in device settings. Logging in through a social provider such as Facebook or Twitter shares your name, email, friend list and profile picture. Prompt Hunt's documentation says almost nothing about hosting beyond one sentence in its terms of service: the Site is hosted in the United States. The same section treats continued use from another region as agreement to transferring and processing data there. No data residency option, no alternative region, no data centre and no cloud provider are named in the legal documents. The only infrastructure partner identified anywhere is Modal, credited in the home page footer as the GPU provider, which is a marketing mention rather than a subprocessor disclosure. The privacy notice refers to service providers bound by written contract without naming any of them, and no subprocessor list is published.
