Proxima
Proxima is a conversion intelligence platform for ecommerce and DTC brands. It connects Shopify, Meta, Klaviyo and Google, then turns real cross-brand purchase behavior into buyer personas, data-backed creative briefs and ad audiences for paid media teams.
What is Proxima?
Proxima is a conversion intelligence platform for consumer brands, published from New York by Innovation Brands Corp. Its pitch draws a line between reporting and direction: "Analytics tell you what happened. Conversion Intelligence tells you why it happened and what to do next."
The product comes in three layers. Conversion Intelligence handles the why, reading conversion behavior across the market rather than inside a single ad account. The Creative Engine handles what to do next, converting those signals into creative direction: angles, narratives, buyer-aligned messages and ready-to-brief concepts. Proxima Audiences handles activation, assembling Persona, Performance and Enhanced Lookalike segments and passing them back into Meta, Google, TikTok and Klaviyo.
Underneath sits the Commerce Graph, a behavioral map of real shoppers aggregated across thousands of ecommerce brands. Its published figures move from page to page, and it is worth attributing them: the homepage claims 100M+ unique US shopper profiles, 2,200+ brands, $60B+ of cross-referenced transactional signal and 500+ creative and buyer lenses per brand; the dedicated commerce graph page cites 73M+ shoppers, 2,000+ brands and billions of commerce events; the April 2024 Series A announcement spoke of 65M+ anonymized shoppers and $17B+ in purchases. The signals it works from are product and bundle affinities, tastes and aesthetics, lifecycle and income indicators, seasonality and interests. What comes out is personas, message angles, ad concepts, storyboards and test plans.
The positioning is deliberately anti-slop: "AI slop is what happens when models learn from prompts instead of verified conversions." The intelligence layer is free by design rather than by promotion, because the denser the graph, the more each member gets out of it.
Proxima launched in May 2022, claimed 400%+ growth and 12,000+ B2C connections at the time of its Series A, and names customers including Hint Water, mindbodygreen, Joe & The Juice, Venus et Fleur, Obvi, melin, LifeMD, SolaWave, Zak Designs, Caraway, gorjana and Bubs Naturals. Its case studies cover health and wellness, fashion and apparel, home and decor, pets and agencies. It describes itself as a Shopify-certified app and says it runs regular third-party penetration testing. The scope is narrow and worth naming: US shopper data, Shopify-centric ingestion, no public API and no mobile app.
What it does
- Connect Shopify, Meta, Klaviyo, Google and TikTok in five to ten minutes
- Generate behavioral personas built from verified purchases rather than surveys or declared interests
- Produce creative briefs ready to hand to a designer, a UGC creator or an agency
- Surface the creative angles and message variations worth testing next
- Build Persona, Performance and Enhanced Lookalike audiences and push them back to Meta and Google
- Benchmark your brand against signals aggregated from thousands of other ecommerce brands
When to use Proxima / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Proxima is the right fit.
When to use Proxima
- Ecommerce and DTC brands spending $50k or more per month on paid media, the audience the homepage names outright
- Performance marketers who have run out of road with broad targeting and want more than Meta Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns can infer on its own
- Creative strategists and in-house creative teams who need a constant supply of tested angles and ad variations
- Agencies producing advertising for several clients at once, which the Pro tier and the agency partner programme are built around
- Shopify merchants already running Meta, Google and Klaviyo who want to pressure-test their assumptions about who actually buys from them
When not to use Proxima
- Businesses outside ecommerce: everything rests on Shopify transaction data and social advertising, so there is nothing here for a service company or a purely physical retailer
- Brands selling outside the United States: the graph is described as US shopper profiles, and the privacy policy states Proxima tries to process data only from people located in the U.S.
- Very small or early-stage stores: the paid tier starts at $250 per month and the stated target is $50k+ of monthly ad spend
- Advertisers working outside Meta, Google, TikTok and Klaviyo: no other integration is published, and TikTok is still flagged Coming Soon on the integrations page
- Anyone unwilling to connect a live store and active ad accounts: the product produces nothing until your own conversion data is plugged in
How to use Proxima
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account on app.proxima.ai; no credit card is required to start
- Connect Shopify so Proxima can read your orders and product catalogue
- Connect Klaviyo for customer and lifecycle signals
- Connect Meta and TikTok for performance signals, and Google to receive audience passback; the whole connection step is announced at five to ten minutes
- Wait 24 to 36 hours while Proxima normalises the catalogue and order history, identifies high-signal behaviours around conversion, repeat purchase and basket size, and assembles the first personas and creative directions
- Explore your personas: what they buy, which messages move them, what to lead with, what to avoid and how they differ from the rest of your buyers
- Generate creative briefs: hooks, positioning, proof points, hero products, bundles, suggested formats such as UGC, statics and short video, plus testing guidance
- Activate the output: launch the creatives, brief UGC creators and spin concepts into variations
- Push Persona, Performance and Enhanced Lookalike audiences back to Meta and Google
- Upgrade to the Pro tier whenever you want, keeping your data and insights, and lean on help.proxima.ai for its Proxima Basics and Integrations collections
Pros & Cons
Pros
- A free intelligence tier with no time limit and no credit card, so the platform can be evaluated on real data before any spend
- Insight built on actual cross-brand purchase data rather than surveys or inferred interests
- Outputs you can act on: briefs ready to hand over, not another dashboard to interpret
- Fast to stand up: five to ten minutes of account linking, first results in 24 to 36 hours
- Sits on top of the existing stack instead of replacing it, and is presented as a complement to Meta Advantage+ campaigns rather than a substitute
- Twenty-four published case studies with named brands and quantified results across several verticals
- A dedicated agency partner programme, backed by a company that raised a $12M Series A in April 2024 from named institutional investors
Cons
- The business model rests on data sharing: the privacy policy explicitly permits licensing, selling and sharing Subscriber Content with advertisers, agencies, publishers and adtech companies, and the Do Not Sell page acknowledges data may be considered sold to third parties over the past 12 months
- No documented way to keep a brand's data out of the Commerce Graph, and submitted content may be retained for as long as Proxima reasonably needs it, even after an account is closed
- No DPA published, no sub-processor list, and no certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claimed anywhere on the site
- GDPR compliance is asserted only in a marketing FAQ and never in the privacy policy, which covers US state laws exclusively; no Article 27 EU representative is designated
- The terms of use are served by a JavaScript application, so the contractual text cannot be read directly
- Commerce Graph figures are inconsistent across the site: 100M+ shoppers and 2,200+ brands on the homepage against 73M+ and 2,000+ on the page dedicated to the graph
- Scope and transparency gaps: data coverage centred on the United States, TikTok still Coming Soon, no public API and no mobile app, a Pro price quoted only as starting at with no published grid, and no support address published in plain text
Pricing & Plans
Proxima offers a free plan. The Conversion Intelligence tier costs $0, requires no credit card and is not time-limited: according to the pricing FAQ, a brand may stay on it indefinitely. The paid tier, Intelligence + Execution, is advertised starting at USD 250 per month. No higher price points are published, the Pro tier links to a demo request rather than to an online checkout, and no currency other than the US dollar is displayed.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Proxima handles your data.
GDPR overview
The GDPR appears exactly once on the whole site, in a marketing FAQ stating that Proxima "undergoes regular third-party penetration testing and is fully compliant with GDPR and CCPA, including the right to be forgotten". The privacy policy, the only contractual document available, never mentions the GDPR. It addresses US state privacy laws only, listing rights for residents of twenty states from California to Virginia: access, deletion, correction, portability and objection to sale. Requests are acknowledged within five business days and processed within forty-five; opt-outs are often actioned the same day, and appeals go to privacy@proxima.ai with APPEAL in the subject line. No Article 27 EU representative, no DPO, no DPA and no sub-processor list are published anywhere. California residents also have a privacy line, (844) 540-0070.
Who owns the data?
The privacy policy, effective 19 November 2025, is published by Innovation Brands Corp., trading as Proxima.ai. It separates Customers, the subscribing brands, from Subscribers, the consumers on those brands' marketing lists. Brands hand over Subscriber Content: names, emails, phone numbers, postal addresses, gender, occupation, date of birth and purchase history. Proxima grants itself broad latitude: content submitted to the service may be retained by us for as long as we reasonably need it, even after you terminate your account. Inside what it calls the Shopper Universe, data is hashed and anonymized on arrival, personal identifiers serving only as a one-way match; Proxima states no customer ever sees another brand's raw data.
Reuse rights
The terms of use are served by a JavaScript application and could not be read, so what follows comes from the privacy policy and the Do Not Sell page. Proxima uses the data it collects to communicate with customers, analyse campaign performance, operate and improve the services, build customer profiles, personalise content, run market research and handle billing. The consequential clause is explicit: Proxima may license, sell or otherwise share Subscriber Content with third-party advertisers, ad agencies, publishers and adtech companies, subject to written agreements, for advertising, market research, ad targeting, profiling and device recognition. Its Do Not Sell page states plainly that it "may be considered to have sold data to these third parties over the past 12 months". Web beacons and pixels are shared with third parties, Meta among them. Connecting a store also feeds the shared Commerce Graph, which the homepage frames as the ecosystem getting more signal to refine the graph and deliver greater impact for every member. Opt-outs covering sale, sharing, profiling, targeted advertising and automated decision-making are requested by email to privacy@proxima.ai. Do Not Track signals are not honoured; Global Privacy Control is respected where the law requires it. What a customer may do with the personas, briefs and audiences Proxima generates is governed by terms that could not be retrieved, so nothing on the readable side of the site grants or withholds that right.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Proxima publishes very little about where data physically lives. The privacy policy states that the services are operated from the United States and that any information obtained "may be processed and stored in, and subject to the laws of, the United States or other countries", without naming a single one of those other countries. It warns that the laws of the places where data is processed may protect it less than those of the user's own country. There is no trust or security page, no named hosting provider and no published data-centre region. The domain is served behind Cloudflare, which describes content delivery rather than a storage location. The only description of the processing environment comes from a FAQ: incoming data enters what Proxima calls the Shopper Universe, where it is hashed and anonymized on arrival, and the company says it undergoes regular third-party penetration testing. No DPA, sub-processor list or certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is published.

Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Proxima.
- Connecting your store feeds a graph shared with every other member brand. Proxima says the data is hashed and anonymized on entry and that no brand sees another's raw data, but there is no documented way to keep your data out of the Commerce Graph once it is in
- The privacy policy permits licensing, selling and sharing Subscriber Content with advertisers, agencies, publishers and adtech companies, and the Do Not Sell page acknowledges data may be considered sold to third parties over the past 12 months. Opting out is possible, but it is a manual request by email
- Content submitted to the service may be retained for as long as Proxima reasonably needs it, and public activity from before a deletion request stays on its servers even after the account is closed
- GDPR compliance is claimed in a marketing FAQ but is absent from the privacy policy, and no Article 27 EU representative, DPO or DPA exists. A European brand cannot rely on that FAQ as a contractual guarantee
- The terms of use are served by a JavaScript application and cannot be read outside a browser, which means committing to clauses on intellectual property, liability and termination that are hard to review
- The Commerce Graph headline figures contradict each other from one page of the site to the next. Treat them as marketing claims, not as audited metrics, when sizing the value of the data
- There is a human risk in outsourcing buyer understanding. Personas and briefs assembled from aggregated market behaviour are a powerful shortcut, and using them instead of talking to your own customers gradually flattens a brand's voice, converges its creative on whatever the market already does, and erodes the team's own instinct for who it is selling to
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Setup is account linking rather than installation: connecting Shopify, Meta, Klaviyo, Google and TikTok is announced at five to ten minutes, with no code to write, nothing to deploy and no API to integrate. The prerequisites are commercial rather than technical, a live Shopify store and active ad accounts to connect. Then comes an unavoidable wait of 24 to 36 hours while Proxima ingests the catalogue and order history and builds the first personas, a delay that varies with order volume. An online help centre carries two collections, one of them devoted to integrations.

Should you pick Proxima?
Proxima is a serious tool for United States ecommerce brands that already spend meaningfully on paid media. Its differentiator is real: personas and creative briefs derived from transactional behavior aggregated across thousands of stores, not from surveys or inferred interests. The output is usable rather than decorative, a concept, a four-frame storyboard and the data rationale behind it, and the setup is genuinely light, five to ten minutes of account linking followed by a day or so of ingestion.
The trade-off deserves to be said plainly, because it is the business model. Proxima gets stronger as more brands connect, and its privacy policy explicitly permits it to license, sell or share Subscriber Content with advertisers, agencies, publishers and adtech companies; its own Do Not Sell page acknowledges it may be considered to have sold data to third parties over the past twelve months. Nothing documents a way to keep a brand's data out of the graph, and submitted content may be kept for as long as Proxima reasonably needs it, even after an account is closed.
The compliance paperwork is thin. GDPR compliance is asserted once, in a marketing FAQ, and never in the privacy policy, which addresses US state laws only. No DPA, no sub-processor list, no Article 27 representative, no SOC 2 or ISO 27001. The terms of use sit behind a JavaScript application and cannot be read outside a browser.
Financially the entry point carries no risk: the intelligence layer is free permanently, with no card, and the paid tier starts at $250 a month, making Proxima easy to judge on its results. The questions worth settling first are the other ones, whether US-centric shopper data fits your market, and whether your legal team is comfortable with a graph that grows by pooling customer data.
