What is Quickfix AI?
Quickfix AI is a system diagnostics tool for macOS and Windows, published by Micropages BV and given away free. It splits into two halves that never overlap: a desktop agent that reads the state of the machine, and a web report that displays and explains it.
The agent is strictly read-only. It gathers data through the operating systems' own diagnostic interfaces, system_profiler and ioreg on macOS and WMI on Windows, and the terms are blunt that it cannot modify a setting, install software or perform a repair. Two modes are offered. A Quick scan takes around thirty seconds and covers CPU model, usage and temperature, memory capacity and pressure, storage type, space and health, battery charge, cycles and condition, GPU and displays, and Wi-Fi status. An Advanced scan runs one to two minutes and adds USB and Bluetooth peripherals, audio devices and printers, every running process with its CPU and memory cost, a full inventory of installed applications, and a network quality test measuring download, upload, latency, jitter and packet loss.
Results collapse into a health score from 0 to 100, calculated on a published scale: a critical finding costs 15 to 25 points, a warning 5 to 15, an informational note 1 to 5. Above 80 the system is healthy, between 50 and 79 it needs some attention, below 50 something is affecting performance or reliability.
The report itself lives on the web, reached with a randomly generated six-character share code, with no account and no email address. That code is what makes the tool useful to help desks: a user runs the scan, reads out six characters, and the technician sees the whole machine without screen sharing or remote control. Inside the report, an AI assistant answers questions in plain language with the scan results already in context, capped at thirty messages a minute.
Security is a first-class category rather than an afterthought: firewall, FileVault, Gatekeeper, System Integrity Protection, app permissions, open ports and VPN status are all checked. An Enterprise tier promising fleet dashboards, scheduled scans, SSO and API access is advertised, but remains unreleased.

GDPR overview
Concrete, and unusually detailed for a free tool. A full Data Processing Agreement is published, forms part of the terms and prevails over them where they conflict. It cites the GDPR (EU) 2016/679, the UK GDPR and the CCPA, assigns Processor and Controller roles, and restates the six processing principles. It commits to assisting with access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection requests, and to notifying a personal data breach within 72 hours. Transfers outside the European Economic Area rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Two gaps stand out. Sub-processors are declared by category only, never by name. And no Article 27 EU representative, no data protection officer and no privacy address are given: every request goes through the contact form. Both texts are dated January 2026.
Who owns the data?
Neither the terms nor the privacy policy transfers ownership of diagnostic data to the vendor. The Data Processing Agreement sets the roles out explicitly: Quickfix AI acts as Processor, while the person or organisation running the scan acts as Controller and carries responsibility for having a lawful basis. The vendor commits to processing personal data only on the Controller's documented instructions, and states plainly that it does not sell data. One reuse right is granted simply by using the service: figures from every scan feed anonymised, aggregated benchmarks. The publisher, Micropages BV, is named nowhere in these documents; it surfaces only through the code-signing certificate.
Reuse rights
The person who runs the scan keeps practical control of the result. A report can be opened from any device with its six-character share code, forwarded to a technician, a colleague or a relative, and exported to PDF from the online viewer while it is still live. No permission has to be requested, no attribution is imposed, and nothing in the terms restricts what a recipient may do with that output. The limits sit in the other direction. By running a scan you accept that your measurements are reused, stripped of identifiers, to build the aggregated benchmarks displayed inside reports, and that your system data is transmitted to third-party AI providers for analysis, with OpenAI named as the example.

Hosting summary
The site never states where diagnostic data is stored. The privacy policy mentions cloud hosting providers without naming one, and the documentation says uploads travel directly to Quickfix AI servers with no third party in the transmission path. Protection is described rather than located: HTTPS with TLS 1.3 in transit, encryption at rest, and cryptographically signed uploads. Jurisdiction appears only in the Data Processing Agreement, which anticipates transfers outside the European Economic Area and relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or other approved mechanisms, where no adequacy decision applies. No hosting country and no region are declared, so neither can be reported as fact. For context only, the domain resolves to an address geolocated in the United States on Amazon's network, but that address is flagged as anycast and points to a content delivery edge rather than to a storage location. Organisations with data residency requirements should put the question to the vendor directly.
