Repurpose.io
Repurpose.io automatically redistributes your videos, Stories, images and podcast audio from one social platform to every other, stripping watermarks and resizing each file to fit its destination — no manual downloads or uploads once your workflows are running.
What is Repurpose.io?
Repurpose.io is a content distribution engine rather than a creation or editing tool. The premise is simple: you publish once, and the platform pushes that piece everywhere else you have an audience, without you touching the file again.
Work starts with a workflow. You pick a source — a TikTok account, an Instagram profile, a YouTube channel, a Facebook Live, a Zoom recording, a podcast feed, a Google Drive folder — then one or more destinations, and the rules that sit between them. From that point content is pulled automatically. Nothing is downloaded to your desktop and nothing is re-uploaded by hand.
Along the way the service handles the tedious part. It removes the platform watermark that would otherwise mark a TikTok clip as recycled, resizes and optimises the video for whatever aspect ratio the destination expects, keeps captions intact, and can apply a saved template. Anything published can be mirrored to Google Drive or Dropbox as a backup. Posts go out instantly or on a schedule you set.
Three content types are covered. Video was the original use case. Stories arrived later and now sync between Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, with TikTok announced. Image repurposing — photos, carousels, slideshows, graphics, memes — is the newest addition and is presented as the most requested feature. Podcast audio travels in both directions, and three companion WordPress plugins publish podcasts, Facebook Lives and YouTube videos to a self-hosted site.
The destination list named in the product FAQ runs to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Amazon, BlueSky, Twitch, Google Drive and Dropbox. Accounts connect through the platforms' own authorisation screens, so no password reaches Repurpose; the company describes itself as an approved app and official partner of Meta, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok and Amazon.
Repurpose.io Inc. is incorporated in Ontario, Canada, and the domain has been live since 2017. The homepage claims 980,434+ creators and 100,000+ videos repurposed a day. The product is web-only: no mobile app, no browser extension, no public API. Its own marketing is blunt about the boundary — no complex editing tools.
What it does
- Push a video published on one network out to every other network automatically
- Strip platform watermarks before republishing, so clips look native rather than recycled
- Resize and optimise each file for the format its destination expects
- Sync and repost Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat Stories
- Repost photos, carousels and slideshows to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
- Move podcast audio out to social channels, and social video back into a podcast feed
- Back up every published video to Google Drive or Dropbox, and schedule posts ahead of time
When to use Repurpose.io / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Repurpose.io is the right fit.
When to use Repurpose.io
- Solo content creators publishing short-form video across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
- Podcasters who want every episode cut loose on social channels without re-uploading it anywhere
- Small business owners and e-commerce brands promoting products on several networks at once
- Social media and influencer agencies running up to 25 client accounts per network
- In-house social media managers juggling multiple brands, campaigns and platforms
When not to use Repurpose.io
- Teams looking for an editing suite: Repurpose.io distributes finished content, it does not cut, clip or generate it
- Developers wanting to wire distribution into their own stack, since there is no public API and no developer documentation
- Anyone expecting a permanently free tier, because past 14 days or 10 published videos a paid plan becomes compulsory
- European buyers with strict GDPR requirements: the site never mentions the regulation, offers no DPA and names no Article 27 representative
- People who work mainly from a phone, as the product is web-only with no iOS or Android app
How to use Repurpose.io
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account at my.repurpose.io: the 14-day trial starts without a credit card
- Connect your social accounts through each platform's own authorisation screen, so no password is shared
- Pick the source your content will be pulled from: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook Live, Zoom, a podcast feed, Google Drive or Dropbox
- Choose one or more destinations among the connected networks and storage services
- Build the workflow in the template-based editor that sits between source and destinations
- Set the processing rules: watermark removal, resizing, visual template and caption handling
- Decide between instant publishing and scheduling posts ahead of time
- Add Google Drive or Dropbox as a backup destination if you want an archive of everything published
- Activate the workflow and let it run, since content is then pulled and posted with no further input
- Before the trial ends at 14 days or 10 published videos, add a card and pick a plan from the My Account page
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuine end-to-end automation: once a workflow is live, nothing is downloaded or uploaded by hand
- Broad destination coverage, with thirteen networks and storage services named in the product FAQ
- Built-in watermark removal, the feature the product leans on hardest against its rivals
- Accounts connect through official platform APIs rather than passwords, and the company claims approved-partner status with Meta, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok and Amazon
- Public three-tier pricing with no sales call, and unlimited published videos from the 79 USD Pro plan upwards
- Content ownership stays with the user, and any use for AI training requires an explicit opt-in
- Fourteen-day trial with ten publications and no credit card, backed by a structured help centre and live training sessions
Cons
- No permanent free plan: the trial stops at 14 days or 10 published videos, whichever comes first
- No public API, no developer documentation and no mobile application
- No mention of the GDPR at all, no Data Processing Agreement, no Article 27 representative and no data protection officer
- No subprocessor list, so the trusted third-party providers handling your content are never named
- No postal address, no legal notice page and no contact page anywhere on the site
- Liability capped at the greater of twelve months of fees or 100 USD, subscriptions non-refundable, and disputes pushed to arbitration in Toronto
- Structural dependence on third-party APIs, with a detailed force majeure clause excusing outages, rate limiting and revoked access

The cheapest paid entry point is the Starter plan at 35.00 USD per month, or 349 USD per year on annual billing, a saving the company advertises as 17%. All fees are charged in United States Dollars.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Repurpose.io handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no GDPR implementation to report: the regulation is never mentioned anywhere on the site. Searching the text and the archived HTML of every collected page returned only OptimizePress form attributes (optin-gdpr-activate=off), which carry no legal meaning. The framework the company actually claims is Canadian and American: PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25 for Quebec residents, Ontario law as the governing law, plus COPA, the Amended Telemarketing Sales Rule, CAN-SPAM and CASL. No data protection officer is named, no EU Article 27 representative is designated, no Data Processing Agreement is offered and no subprocessor list is published. The only addresses published are support@repurpose.io and legal@repurpose.io. The privacy policy was last revised on 18 June 2024.
Who owns the data?
Under section 4 of the terms you keep full ownership of your User Content. Repurpose.io Inc. receives a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to access, reproduce, distribute, transmit, format, display, store, archive, index and process that content, but strictly to run and improve the service: pushing posts to social platforms, optimising performance, backing files up and analysing usage. Content may also reach unnamed trusted third-party providers such as cloud storage and analytics vendors, which are contractually held to the same terms. The platform itself remains the company's property under section 3, and credentials for the accounts you connect are stored encrypted.
Reuse rights
You may reuse your own content freely and without asking, because ownership never transfers. The restrictions in section 5 bite on the service rather than the material: you may not resell, rent, sublicense or assign access, reverse-engineer the product, build a competing derivative, or use Repurpose.io to breach CAN-SPAM or Canada's anti-spam legislation, to post infringing or illegal content, or to reach a platform you are not authorised to use. Connecting a social account also binds you to that platform's own terms. Content stays out of AI training by default; only an explicit opt-in to the separate AI Content Licensing Program changes that, and the licence it grants is perpetual and irrevocable for anything already licensed.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
The only location the company commits to is Canada. Section 15 of the terms asks users outside Canada to acknowledge that their personal information may be transferred to and processed there. The governing law is that of Ontario, arbitration is seated in Toronto, and the protection framework claimed is PIPEDA plus Quebec's Law 25 for Quebec residents. Beyond that the picture is thin. No data centre, hosting region or cloud provider is named, and no subprocessor list is published: the terms mention trusted third-party providers for cloud storage and analytics without identifying any of them. Security is described in general terms, namely a technically and physically secure environment, SSL encryption for sensitive information and encrypted storage of the credentials you connect, with the usual caveat that no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed secure. No certification such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA is displayed. One caution about network data: the domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast address geolocated in San Francisco. That is a CDN edge node, not a hosting location, and it says nothing about where user data actually rests.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Repurpose.io.
- Opting in to the AI Content Licensing Program is irreversible: the licence is perpetual, survives account closure and cannot be revoked for content already licensed, with no guaranteed payment in return
- A single compromised Repurpose account reaches every social network you have connected, because publishing rights to all of them sit behind one login
- Fully automated posting means nothing is proof-read before it goes live, so one badly judged clip lands on every channel at once
- Stripping watermarks and reposting music you do not own can collide with individual platforms' rules, and the vendor documents the YouTube Shorts copyright risk itself
- Publishing identical content everywhere flattens your voice and can depress engagement on channels that reward native formats
- Handing distribution to a robot erodes your own feel for what works on each platform, which is hard to win back
- With no GDPR framework, no Data Processing Agreement and data processed in Canada, a European user handling personal data in their content carries the compliance risk alone
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Nothing is installed, nothing is coded and there is no extension to add. You sign up by email without a card, link accounts through each platform's standard authorisation screen, then assemble a workflow from templates, which the company describes as easy to set up. The real effort is editorial rather than technical: deciding which content should travel to which platform, in which format and how often. Since there is no API, there is nothing to integrate either. A quick start guide, a Getting Started section, live trainings and an onboarding video cover the rest.

Should you pick Repurpose.io?
Repurpose.io has been doing one thing since 2017, and it does it well. Publish a video, a Story, an image or a podcast episode once, and the platform pushes it everywhere else you have an audience: watermark stripped, aspect ratio corrected, captions intact, no file ever passing through your hands. For anyone whose bottleneck is distribution rather than production, that is a real saving of hours every week.
The commercial proposition is refreshingly plain. Three public tiers, no sales call, unlimited published videos from 79 USD a month, and a fourteen-day trial that asks for no card. The company is bootstrapped, profitable and small, which shows in a product that has stayed narrow instead of sprawling.
The boundary is just as plain, and the marketing says so out loud: this is not an editor. It will not cut a long video into clips, write your captions or generate anything. It presupposes content that already exists.
The reservations are mostly legal. Repurpose.io Inc. is an Ontario company, disputes go to arbitration in Toronto, liability is capped at twelve months of fees or 100 USD, and subscriptions are not refundable. More pointedly for a European buyer, the GDPR is never mentioned anywhere on the site: no Data Processing Agreement, no Article 27 representative, no data protection officer, no subprocessor list, no published postal address. The privacy policy dates from June 2024 and reads like it. The optional AI content licensing programme deserves a second reading, because opting in is irreversible for anything already licensed.
Judged as what it is, a distribution robot for people who publish a lot on a lot of channels, it is a strong and mature choice. Judged as a supplier for a regulated European organisation, it leaves too many boxes unticked.
