Overview

What is RivalFlow AI?

RivalFlow AI is a content optimisation tool built by the team behind SpyFu, the Scottsdale competitive research company. It arrived in late 2023 and does one narrow job: it takes a page you have already published, sets it beside a competing page that outranks it on Google, and tells you precisely what yours is missing. The analysis comes back as questions. RivalFlow separates the questions your competitor answers and you do not, the ones they answer more thoroughly, and the ones you both cover. For each gap it drafts the answering copy, then points at the spot in your existing article where that paragraph belongs, through the feature the site calls Show Me Where It Goes. If you would rather not assemble anything, Copy Full Draft returns the whole article with the new answers already blended in. Work is organised into Projects, one page at a time, grouped under a Campaign for each website. Two entry points feed them: Easy Wins, a queue the tool builds automatically, and Pick a Page, where you supply a URL or simply a keyword. Custom Compare lets you override the algorithm and name the competing page yourself. There is nothing to install. No JavaScript, no CMS connector, no developer and no third-party API key: the vendor covers the ChatGPT prompts, access and cost. Everything travels through the clipboard, so the tool sits alongside any publishing platform. Connecting Google Search Console is optional and serves measurement only. Track Results then charts impressions, keywords and clicks and marks the date each update shipped, giving a genuine before-and-after read. Around that core sit a REST API for creating and managing campaigns, seven free AI generators on the public site, white labelling on the Pro and Elite plans, and ranking data covering thirty-three countries. Release notes run through June 2026. The product is deliberately not a content generator: the vendor presents it as complementary to writing assistants, and useful only on sites that already carry roughly twenty pages of published copy.

What it does

  • Compare one of your published pages with the competing page that outranks it
  • Surface the questions and subtopics your competitor covers and you do not
  • Generate the answering copy, ready to paste into the page
  • Show the exact spot in the existing article where the new copy belongs
  • Hand over the whole article already merged, through Copy Full Draft
  • Queue up the pages worth improving first, in Easy Wins
  • Track impressions, keywords and clicks before and after each update via Google Search Console

How to use RivalFlow AI

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account and add the domain you want to work on, your own or a client's
  2. Confirm the country or region of the site so the right Google competitors are compared
  3. Let the tool build its list of suggestions in Easy Wins, or choose a page yourself through Pick a Page
  4. Start from a keyword instead of a URL if you have no specific page in mind
  5. Use Custom Compare to pick the competing page or the target keyword by hand
  6. Click Generate Project and wait a few minutes, or none at all on the Zero Wait option
  7. Read the analysis: unanswered questions, partially answered questions, questions you both cover
  8. Copy the suggested snippets, or the whole merged article through Copy Full Draft, into your CMS
  9. Insert the new copy where the tool indicates, then publish
  10. Connect Google Search Console and follow the effect in Track Results, allowing a few days for the chart to fill

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how RivalFlow AI handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy devotes a full section to residents of the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Spy Fu, Inc., trading as RivalFlow.com, declares itself data controller under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and names four lawful bases: performance of the contract, legitimate interest, consent and legal obligation. It lists the rights of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent, erasure and restriction, portability, objection, protection against solely automated decisions, access to transfer safeguards, and complaint to a supervisory authority. Requests go to legal@spyfu.com, with identity verification. The vendor also commits to assisting its business customers when it acts as processor. Three things are missing and worth noting: no Article 27 representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, and no Data Processing Agreement is published. Policy dated 7 November 2023.

Who owns the data?

The terms state that RivalFlow claims no ownership over Customer Content and that what you create remains yours. The same clause, however, grants the vendor a royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify and publish that content, expressly including for modifying, improving and enhancing artificial intelligence models. Aggregated Statistics compiled from your use are the exclusive property of RivalFlow, assigned irrevocably by you, and any Feedback you send is assigned outright with no compensation. Ownership on paper therefore sits with the customer, while the practical rights sit with the vendor. Terms in force since 7 November 2023.

Reuse rights

You may reuse the output freely for its intended purpose: the suggested snippets and full drafts are meant to be copied and pasted straight into your own pages, on any CMS, with no further permission required. Agencies on the Pro and Elite plans can go further and deliver or resell those improvements to clients without RivalFlow branding, through white labelling. The service itself is another matter: access is granted as a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right, limited to your internal business operations for the duration of the contract, and the terms forbid copying, distributing, selling, reselling or disclosing any part of the Services, including by automated scraping. Documentation carries the same internal-use-only licence. On the vendor side, Spy Fu, Inc. acts as data controller and shares personal data with named service providers for analytics, advertising, email and payment processing.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Personal data is kept only as long as the purposes in the privacy policy require, plus whatever legal obligations, disputes and enforcement of agreements demand. Usage data is generally kept for a shorter period, unless it serves security or functionality or the law requires longer. Retention periods vary by purpose and no figure in days or months is published. Contact details are kept so the vendor can stay in touch and are deleted on request to the privacy team. Data may be retained unused for as long as legal requirements and proceedings need. Aggregated non-identifiable information is kept without any limit. Erasure is not instant: residual copies may persist on active servers, in backups and with third parties.

Hosting summary

No hosting country and no hosting region are named anywhere on the site. The privacy policy states only that information is processed at the company's offices and in any other place where the parties involved in the processing are located, and that it may be transferred to and maintained on computers outside the user's own state, province or country, where data protection law may differ. The vendor undertakes to take reasonably necessary steps so that such transfers are covered by adequate controls, but names none: there is no mention of standard contractual clauses, of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or of any hosting subprocessor. The company and its offices are in Scottsdale, Arizona, in the United States, which is the only jurisdiction the documents actually anchor. As a technical observation rather than a vendor claim, the domain resolves behind Cloudflare on an anycast address. Buyers with data residency requirements should treat the hosting question as unanswered and raise it directly.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting RivalFlow AI.

  • The terms grant a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide licence over your content that expressly covers improving AI models, with no documented way to opt out
  • Aggregated Statistics built from your usage become the vendor's exclusive property through an irrevocable assignment, as does any feedback you send
  • Subscriptions renew automatically every month; cancellation runs through the settings page or a written notice to support, and only takes effect the following month
  • Beyond the thirty-day guarantee the terms exclude refunds entirely, including for unused subscription time
  • Sources disagree on the trial: a blog article promises no credit card is required while the help centre describes a five-dollar bank authorisation during the trial
  • No DPA, no Article 27 EU representative, no disclosed hosting country and no security certification, which matters for regulated or European buyers
  • Publishing AI-drafted answers without editing them risks flattening your own voice; the vendor itself recommends blending the copy into the existing article rather than pasting it verbatim
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. There is no code, no script and no developer involved: being able to edit your own pages is the only prerequisite, and no third-party API key has to be supplied. Connecting Google Search Console is optional, runs through an authorisation screen in Track Results with automatic property detection, and has a dedicated troubleshooting guide when data fails to appear. Analysis takes a few minutes per page, or none on the Zero Wait option. The vendor states no training is needed, while still offering one-to-one demos.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does RivalFlow AI actually do?
It compares a page you have already published with a competing page that outranks it on Google, lists the questions and subtopics your page fails to answer, writes the missing copy for you, and shows where in the article it should go.
Do I need a developer or any integration to use it?
No. The vendor states that no JavaScript, no integration and no developer are required, and that no third-party API key is needed: prompts, access and costs for the underlying model are covered. If you can edit your own pages, you can use the tool.
Do I have to connect Google Search Console?
No, it is optional. RivalFlow produces recommendations for any site without it. Connecting Search Console only powers Track Results, which charts impressions, keywords and clicks and marks the date each update shipped for a before-and-after view.
Is there a free plan, and how much does it cost?
There is no permanent free plan. A fourteen-day free trial is available, during which the bank is asked to authorise five US dollars as a card check that is never actually taken. Paid plans start at 79 USD per month on annual billing.
How many websites does a subscription cover?
Each paid plan includes three websites, with additional slots at 49 USD per month or 490 USD per year. Agency plans start at five websites, with extra slots at 10 USD per month and pricing built self-service.
How big does my site need to be?
The help centre states that the tool works best on sites carrying at least twenty pages of written content, and that more content generally produces better results. Pages that have no ranking history at all are accepted but are a weaker fit.
Does it work outside the United States and in other languages?
Yes. The vendor says pages from domains across the globe can be improved and that non-English sites are supported; you confirm the country when you add a site. Ranking data and Google SERP competitors are available for thirty-three countries.
Is there an API?
Yes. A REST API handles campaigns, which are the websites you analyse: creating a new campaign, retrieving all campaigns, retrieving one campaign and deleting a campaign. Project-level operations are not exposed. The API key is found in Account Settings.
Is my content used to train AI models?
The terms grant RivalFlow a perpetual, irrevocable and worldwide licence over Customer Content that expressly covers modifying, improving and enhancing artificial intelligence models. No opt-out from that clause is documented anywhere on the site.
Can I get a refund, and what is the minimum age?
A thirty-day money-back guarantee applies with no questions and no contract; beyond that window the terms exclude refunds, and subscriptions renew automatically. Use is prohibited below thirteen years old, or sixteen in Europe.
Conclusion

Should you pick RivalFlow AI?

RivalFlow AI knows exactly what it is, and that focus is its main strength. It does not try to write your next article; it takes the ones you already have and closes the distance between them and the pages beating them on Google. The output is unusually easy to act on, because the tool writes the copy and then tells you where to put it, and the whole thing works through the clipboard rather than through connectors that break. The commercial package is generous in places that matter to agencies: three websites and unlimited team members on every plan, white labelling from the Pro tier, custom agency pricing, and a thirty-day refund window with no justification required. Measurement through Google Search Console is optional but genuinely useful, since it dates each update and shows what moved. Two reservations deserve weight. The first is contractual: the terms grant the vendor a perpetual, irrevocable licence over your content that explicitly covers improving artificial intelligence models, and no opt-out is documented. The second is compliance: there is no Data Processing Agreement, no Article 27 representative for the European Union, no named hosting jurisdiction and no security certification on display. A European buyer with a procurement checklist will find the file thin, whatever the quality of the product itself. Practically, the tool suits sites that already publish regularly, that carry at least twenty pages, and that rank in one of the thirty-three covered countries. Below that threshold it has little to work with. At 79 USD per month on annual billing, with no permanent free tier and a card required for the trial, it asks for a real commitment. The publisher, SpyFu of Scottsdale, Arizona, is established and the release notes run to mid-2026, which is reassuring on continuity.
