Overview

What is SalesSage?

SalesSage is an AI sales team intelligence platform. Its stated purpose is to capture the layer a CRM never records — judgment, confidence, risk perception and emotional truth — and the homepage sums it up as a platform that “surfaces the human signals traditional dashboards miss”.

The mechanism is a recurring conversational check-in rather than a survey. An agentic AI, introduced to reps under the first name Shannon, holds a short one-to-one conversation with each salesperson: “This isn't a stale survey or dashboard noise. SalesSage's Agentic AI has authentic, supportive conversations with each rep.” The administrator sets the cadence — every 7, 14, 30, 60 or 90 days, or switched off entirely — and a check-in lasts ten minutes by default, with a timer visible on the rep's side. Reps answer through a dedicated check-in link and never need a manager account.

Six pillars are tracked over time: Morale, Quota Confidence, Sales Strength, Stress, Burnout Risk and Team Dynamics. What the AI reads is the subtext of the answers — tone, word choice, sentiment — and it turns that into team health dashboards, early warning alerts, coaching recommendations and trend detection. The site highlights a Quota Confidence Index, Burnout Risk Alerts, Top Reported Blockers and a Sales Strength Profile. Individual answers are anonymized in aggregate reporting; only authorized managers see detail on their own direct reports.

Three audiences are addressed: Sales Leaders and Managers, Chief Revenue Officers, and People and HR Leaders. The terms of service describe a wider scope than the marketing pages, covering sales hiring with pre-hire assessments alongside performance intelligence — a gap worth noting before signing.

The product is explicit about what it is not: “No. SalesSage does not replace CRMs, forecasting tools, or leadership judgment.” It is sold as a complement to the CRM, not a substitute. Delivery is web-only — the structured data declares Web as the operating system — with no mobile application and no public API. The site itself is a fully JavaScript-rendered single-page application built with Lovable, with nine URLs in its sitemap.

What it does

  • Run private, conversational AI check-ins with every sales rep
  • Read the subtext of each answer: tone, word choice and sentiment
  • Track morale and quota confidence over time
  • Flag burnout risk and reps at risk of leaving
  • Surface the top blockers reported by the team
  • Profile sales strengths and coaching opportunities
  • Deliver concrete action recommendations to the manager

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how SalesSage handles your data.

GDPR overview

The GDPR is never named anywhere on the site, and neither are the CCPA, SOC 2 or ISO 27001. The privacy policy, effective 17/06/2025, lists GDPR-style rights in section 7 — access, correction, deletion, objection or restriction, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority — but introduces them with “Depending on your location” and cites no regulation. No EU representative under Article 27 and no data protection officer are named. No data processing agreement is published or offered, and no sub-processor list exists beyond a generic mention of “service providers”. Section 10 states that SalesSage is based in the United States and that data may be processed and stored in the U.S. or other countries, on the basis of user consent; no standard contractual clauses or other transfer mechanism are mentioned. GDPR compliance should therefore be read as undeclared rather than demonstrated.

Who owns the data?

The published documents contain no explicit clause assigning ownership of customer data: section 6 of the terms claims the platform's own content for SalesSage and says nothing about the assessment data submitted by users. The privacy policy states plainly that “We do not sell your personal data”, but allows sharing with an employer or prospective employer when a candidate is assessed, with service providers (hosting, analytics, support tools), under a legal obligation, in a merger or acquisition, and with the user's consent. Users may request access, correction, deletion, objection or restriction, and may withdraw consent. Rights are exercised at privacy@salessage.co; deletion requests go to hello@salessage.co.

Reuse rights

SalesSage collects identity data (name, email, phone number, password, company, job title) and, for assessed sales candidates, work history, LinkedIn profile and assessment answers. Technical data is captured automatically: IP address, browser, operating system, referrers, pages viewed, device type, screen resolution and language, alongside cookies, pixels and similar technologies used for analytics and preferences. The stated purposes are operating the platform, administering assessments, generating reports, analyzing usage trends, communicating with users, enforcing the terms and meeting legal obligations. Section 3 of the privacy policy adds a decisive point: “We store your assessment inputs and AI outputs to improve our models and deliver better insights over time.” No opt-out from that model improvement is documented anywhere on the site. Nothing in the documents grants or restricts a customer's reuse of platform outputs beyond ordinary use of the service.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The privacy policy, effective 17/06/2025, states in section 5 that information is kept “as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including legal or regulatory obligations and business needs”. No retention period is quantified and no purge schedule is published, so the actual lifetime of check-in answers and AI outputs is left to the vendor's discretion. Deletion is available on request by writing to hello@salessage.co, while access, correction and objection are exercised at privacy@salessage.co. The policy also commits to deleting the data of children under 13 if such data is identified. Anonymization is mentioned only for aggregate reporting, not as a retention measure: nothing states that individual answers are anonymized or purged after a given period.

Hosting summary

Section 10 of the privacy policy, effective 17/06/2025, is the only statement on hosting: “SalesSage is based in the United States, and your data may be processed and stored in the U.S. or other countries where we or our service providers operate.” Transfers are presented as covered by the user's consent. No data center, cloud region or hosting provider is named, there is no data residency option, and no way to confine processing to a given jurisdiction. The policy declares encryption in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest, without naming a standard or a certification. The public front end is served through Cloudflare, the domain resolving to the anycast address 185.158.133.1, so the Polish geolocation returned for that IP identifies a network node and not a country of storage. The United States is therefore the only jurisdiction the vendor points to, and even that is qualified by “or other countries”.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting SalesSage.

  • No identifiable legal entity: “SalesSage” appears with no corporate form, no address and no registry entry, so there is no clearly named counterparty behind the contract
  • The GDPR is absent from the site although the tool processes employee sentiment, which is sensitive material in an HR context
  • Assessment inputs and AI outputs are reused to improve the vendor's models, with no opt-out documented
  • Anonymization is announced only in aggregate reporting: a manager still sees detail on their direct reports, which can discourage honest answers
  • The terms make the customer responsible for validating AI outputs before any hiring or performance management decision
  • European deployments will require employee information and consent, and works council consultation where applicable, none of which the site addresses
  • Two identification traps: the server IP geolocated in Poland is a Cloudflare anycast node rather than a hosting country, and the dissolved UK namesake SALES SAGE LTD is a different entity
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. SalesSage is a web application with nothing to install: the administrator signs up by email, chooses a plan, opens the admin dashboard and invites reps by email; reps answer through a dedicated check-in link without a manager account. There is no CRM connector to configure and no API key to manage — the only settings are check-in frequency and duration. The real difficulty is organizational rather than technical: obtaining honest engagement from reps, and explaining clearly what is anonymized, what a manager sees and how the answers will be used.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is SalesSage?
An AI sales team intelligence platform that captures the judgment, confidence, risk perception and emotional truth of a sales team — the human layer a CRM does not record.
How is it different from a CRM?
A CRM tracks activity and outcomes. SalesSage turns qualitative check-ins with each rep into structured intelligence about morale, confidence and blockers.
How often do the check-ins happen?
The administrator sets the cadence: every 7, 14, 30, 60 or 90 days, or switched off. A check-in lasts ten minutes by default.
Which metrics does SalesSage track?
Six pillars: Morale, Quota Confidence, Sales Strength, Stress, Burnout Risk and Team Dynamics.
How is burnout risk detected?
By following subtle shifts in morale, confidence and stress across successive check-ins, and alerting the manager when the trend turns.
Who is it for?
VP Sales, Sales Directors and front-line managers, RevOps teams, Chief Revenue Officers, and People and HR leaders.
Does it replace my CRM?
No. The site states explicitly that SalesSage does not replace CRMs, forecasting tools or leadership judgment; it is positioned as a complement.
How much does it cost?
$2 per salesperson per month, with a free trial, no contract and no setup fee. Payment goes through Stripe.
Is the data secure?
The site declares encryption in transit and at rest, anonymization of individual answers in aggregate reporting, and access limited to authorized managers for their own direct reports.
Is there an API or a mobile app, and is there a minimum age?
There is neither a public API nor a mobile application: SalesSage is web-only. The minimum age is 18, stated in section 2 of the terms and section 9 of the privacy policy.
Conclusion

Should you pick SalesSage?

SalesSage is a young product with a narrow, clearly stated promise. The domain was registered on 16/09/2024 and the first Wayback capture dates from 24/11/2024; the platform sells one idea — reading the human signals a CRM cannot record — at a price, $2 per salesperson per month, that removes most of the budget objection. The mechanics are coherent: configurable conversational check-ins, six tracked pillars, anonymization in aggregate reporting, and an explicit refusal to present itself as a CRM or forecasting replacement.

What convinces less is the company behind it. No full legal entity name, no postal address, no about or contact page, no named founder and no social presence: the buyer is asked to entrust employee sentiment data to a supplier it cannot identify. The privacy policy, effective 17/06/2025, never names the GDPR, offers no data processing agreement and no sub-processor list, and states that assessment inputs and AI outputs are stored to improve the models — with no documented opt-out.

That combination matters more here than it would for an ordinary productivity tool. Morale, stress and burnout signals are sensitive material in an HR context, and the terms place the responsibility for validating AI outputs before any hiring or performance decision on the customer. European buyers will also have to organize employee information and consent themselves, since the site does not address it.

The reasonable approach is the one the pricing makes easy: run the free trial on a small group, test the outputs and the reps' reaction, and settle the legal questions in writing before any wider rollout.
