Samey AI is a British business assistant that connects the apps your team already uses, then searches across them and completes tasks from plain English instructions. It is aimed squarely at legal, finance and accounting teams.

Samey AI sells itself as an AI employee rather than a chatbot: software that plugs into the tools a firm already runs and then does work inside them. You connect your accounts, describe the job in ordinary English, and Samey searches, drafts or executes across the connected systems. The publisher's own line is blunt enough — Samey lets you talk to your apps like you talk to a friend.
Underneath sits a retrieval setup. Uploaded files and folders are indexed in a Datastax AstraDB vector store, authentication runs through Ory, and the language models come from Azure OpenAI. Search returns answers with links to the source documents rather than free-floating text. Twenty-three named integrations cover the Microsoft stack (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel), Google Workspace, collaboration tools such as Slack, Notion, Jira and Confluence, CRMs including Salesforce, Pipedrive and HighLevel, and finance software such as Xero and QuickBooks. Clio brings legal case management into the same net.
The product is organised into three verticals. Legal covers instant retrieval across matters, contracts and email, case summarisation, compliance checking, deadline tracking and billable-hour capture. Finance covers real-time aggregation across systems, tailored client reporting, portfolio tracking and client data lookup. Accounting covers account reconciliation, report generation from QuickBooks, Xero and Excel, automated payroll summaries and expense categorisation. Agentic workflows arrive with the Standard tier; scheduled workflows are advertised for a Premium tier still marked as coming soon.
The numbers on the site are the company's own and unaudited: 200-plus users, two hours saved per employee per day, a 4.0 out of 5 rating, and on the vertical pages 32 hours and £800 saved a month, 30% fewer errors and a twentyfold return. A case study with Axis Solicitors, a UK immigration firm of 11 to 50 staff, claims 75% less review time.
In practice Samey is a browser product. Everything happens at app.samey.ai; there is no public API and no mobile app, and the interface is English only. The company behind it, Samey AI Solutions Private Limited, was incorporated in Manchester on 10 October 2024.

GDPR overview
Samey AI is a UK company and works under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 rather than the EU regulation; no Article 27 EU representative is named. The privacy policy, effective 14 January 2025, relies on four lawful bases — consent, contractual necessity, legal obligation and legitimate interests — and lists the rights it honours: information, access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability. Requests are made free of charge by email to support@samey.ai, and complaints go to the Information Commissioner's Office at www.ico.org.uk. A separate section covers California residents. A GDPR Compliant badge appears on the homepage and on all four pricing tiers, and a Data Processing Agreement is published openly in the Trust Centre. No data protection officer has been appointed.
Who owns the data?
Under the privacy policy in force since 14 January 2025, Samey AI Solutions Private Limited is the data controller for the personal data it collects through its own website. The published Data Processing Agreement reverses the roles for customer content: the customer stays the data controller and Samey acts as data processor, processing personal data on the customer's behalf. Users may delete their account at any time, and the policy states that all stored data is then deleted. No data protection officer has been appointed, the company saying it is not obliged to appoint one, and complaints go to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Reuse rights
The categories collected are identity, contact, marketing, billing, bank and transaction details, plus support and usage records. No special category data — health, opinions, biometrics — and no criminal conviction data is gathered. Samey states flatly that it never trains AI models on customer data, and the privacy policy goes further on one point: nothing obtained from Google Workspace APIs, Gmail data included, is used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine learning models. Aggregated and anonymised data may be used to improve the service and to publish trends. User data is not sold or shared with third parties for unrelated purposes, although it may pass to an acquirer in a change of control. Customers keep the material they upload and can remove it, with their account, whenever they choose.

Hosting summary
Microsoft Azure hosts the infrastructure in its UK region, and the published sub-processor list says who touches what. Datastax AstraDB holds the vector index of uploaded files and folders (PCI DSS 3.2.1); Ory handles authentication and identity management (ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR); Azure Cosmos DB stores email and customer profile data; Stripe processes billing (PCI DSS v4.0, SOC 1/2/3); Datadog covers monitoring and logs. Data is encrypted in transit over SSL/TLS and at rest by the storage partners. The privacy policy of 14 January 2025 states that personal data is not transferred outside the United Kingdom and undertakes to give prior notice and put standard contractual clauses in place should that change. One line of the same sub-processor list cuts across that promise: Azure OpenAI provides AI models hosted in Sweden. Both statements cannot be complete, and the publisher has not reconciled them publicly. Note separately that the website itself is served from an AWS node in Frankfurt, which says nothing about where customer data lives.

- Where the data actually sits is unresolved: the privacy policy promises no transfer outside the UK, the sub-processor page puts the Azure OpenAI models in Sweden. For regulated work, get the answer in writing.
- The security badges belong to other companies. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and PCI DSS are the sub-processors' certifications, and "CASA Tier 2" is a Google application validation, not a general security certification of the publisher.
- Two legal documents disagree on the minimum age — 18 in the terms, 16 in the privacy policy — which is the kind of gap that surfaces at the worst moment.
- A tool that summarises a case file and flags the clauses invites a tired reader to stop reading. The source links exist for a reason: open them before acting on a summary, especially where a client's position depends on it.
- Compliance Checker and Conflict Checker sit in a Premium tier that is not yet available, so no compliance process should be built around them today.
- Only the annual prices are served in the page, onboarding charges may apply on top, and the terms make payments non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
- Housekeeping reads as immaturity: the company name appears in three forms across the site, the footer misspells the registered address, the Partners page is empty, the security FAQ answers need JavaScript to appear, and there is no dedicated legal notice page.
