GDPR overview
The Privacy Policy carries a dedicated “General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Rights” section. It grants EEA residents the rights to erasure, access, correction, update, objection, restriction and portability, a marketing opt-out through “Unsubscribe”, withdrawal of consent at any time without retroactive effect, and the right to complain to a data protection authority. Who owns the data?
Neither the Terms of Service (last updated April 27, 2024) nor the Privacy Policy (last updated January 6, 2022) states that you own what you generate: no clause assigns ownership of generated content to the user, while the Terms reserve the service's own Content and Marks to the publisher. The Privacy Policy covers samwell.ai and semihuman.ai jointly and names Semihuman.ai Inc as their owner. It warns that profile information and content submitted through “Community” features may be used and viewed by other users and third parties, that public information linked to your account stays on the servers and remains accessible to the public after you delete that account, and that data may be transferred to an acquirer in a sale, merger or bankruptcy.
