Overview

What is Screenloop?

Screenloop is an AI-native applicant tracking system that its publisher also calls a Talent Operations Platform, sold under the line Automate the Mundane, Amplify the Human. The pitch is consolidation: one product instead of the eight or more separate tools a hiring team usually stitches together, with every module included at no extra cost once the ATS is in place.

Seven modules make up the platform. Applicant Tracking provides a role-by-role dashboard, job management, branded careers pages and custom application forms, automatic distribution to more than 3,000 job boards, candidate self-scheduling and structured scorecards. Interview Intelligence adds an AI Notetaker that joins video interviews, transcribes them word for word, summarises them, sorts answers by predefined attribute, generates shareable clips and fills scorecards in; a conversational assistant answers questions about the interview itself. Pulse runs anonymised candidate and hiring-team surveys, computes a Candidate NPS with benchmarking and score explainability, and adds a team leaderboard and post-hire evaluations. References automates reference requests, claiming a 97% completion rate with references captured within 48 hours. Background Checks cover criminal records, education and employment across 193 countries, run in one click through Certn. Interviewer Training works as a small learning management system with pre-built or in-house modules, assessments and engagement tracking. Data & Analytics closes the loop with live dashboards, granular permissions, benchmarking, selective redaction and interview metrics such as talk ratio, speaking pace and sentiment.

The intended buyer is a lean in-house talent acquisition team at a startup, SME or scale-up rather than an external recruitment agency. Screenloop is published from London by a British company that raised $7m in seed funding announced in June 2023, and claims a 4.9/5 rating on G2. Named customer results include AssemblyAI (+255% hires), Housr (-74% time to hire), Indeed Flex (-50% time to hire and +39% CNPS), Choco (+26% CNPS) and amicable, which reports 55 to 75 minutes saved per interview. The site describes itself as trusted by scaleups and challenger brands across the UK, US and EU.

What it does

  • Publish jobs automatically to more than 3,000 job boards and let candidates book their own interview slots
  • Launch background checks in one click across more than 190 countries and automate reference requests
  • Train interviewers with pre-built or in-house modules, assessments and engagement tracking

When to use Screenloop / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Screenloop is the right fit.

When to use Screenloop

  • Lean in-house talent acquisition teams at startups, SMEs and scale-ups that hire continuously without a large recruiting operation
  • Companies currently paying for several separate hiring tools — applicant tracking, interview notetaker, references, background screening — and looking to consolidate them into one platform
  • Talent teams that want to measure hiring quality and candidate experience through candidate NPS, post-hire evaluations and time-to-hire dashboards
  • Organisations recruiting across borders, since background checks are advertised across 193 countries
  • Hiring managers and interviewers who need structured scorecards, interview training and coaching rather than ad hoc note-taking

When not to use Screenloop

  • Buyers who want to compare prices and sign up on their own: no rate card is published and the pricing URL redirects to a demo booking page
  • Teams looking for a free plan or a free trial before committing, since neither is advertised anywhere on the site
  • External recruitment agencies and search firms: the product is pitched explicitly at in-house teams
  • Developers who need a documented public API to build on, or teams that need a mobile app or a browser extension — none of these exist
  • Teams that need an interface or transcription in a language other than English, as no language list is published
Get started

How to use Screenloop

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Book a demo from the site: there is no self-service sign-up, and the homepage even lets you type "DEMO" anywhere on the page to open the booking flow
  2. Discuss scope and pricing with the sales team, since no rate card is published anywhere
  3. Go through the tailored, interactive onboarding sessions run by Screenloop
  4. Migrate from your current applicant tracking system using the published ATS Transition Guide, or stay connected to it (Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby, Pinpoint)
  5. Connect calendars — Google Calendar, Office 365, Outlook, Exchange, iCloud — so candidates can book their own interview slots
  6. Connect video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) so the AI Notetaker can join interviews and produce notes, transcripts and scorecards
  7. Connect Slack and Gmail for notifications and candidate correspondence, and an HRIS such as BambooHR, HiBob or Personio if needed
  8. Publish jobs to the careers page and to the job board network, then work the applications from the role dashboard
  9. Run interviews, review the AI summaries and clips, complete the scorecards, then trigger references and background checks
  10. Follow results on the analytics dashboards and use the regular reviews and best-practice sessions offered by the vendor; existing customers log in at app.screenloop.com

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • One platform where recruiting teams usually run several: the site states that choosing the ATS unlocks the full Talent Ops Platform at no extra cost
  • SOC 2 Type II compliance, audited by a named third party, Prescient Assurance LLC
  • The data processing addendum is published in the open, names eleven sub-processors with their addresses and purposes, and commits to prior notice before any new one is engaged
  • Both the EU standard contractual clauses and the UK international transfer addendum are provided, which matters for a British publisher serving EU customers
  • Customers keep ownership of their Customer Data under clause 6.4 of the terms and conditions
  • Customer results are named and quantified on public case study pages rather than left anonymous, and the vendor claims a 4.9/5 rating on G2
  • Broad connectivity: 23 named integrations including six competing applicant tracking systems and five HRIS, plus background check coverage across 193 countries

Cons

  • No public pricing at all: the /pricing URL returns a 308 redirect to the demo booking page, so nothing can be budgeted without a sales call
  • Neither a free plan nor a free trial is advertised anywhere, and the demo is the only way in
  • No hosting country or region is stated for the product, while the privacy policy openly announces transfers outside the EEA
  • No published position on whether customer data is used to train AI models, even though OpenAI is a declared sub-processor, and no training opt-out is documented
  • Clause 6.5 makes aggregated anonymous data the publisher's property, still usable after the contract ends, and the retention period is left open-ended as "as long as necessary"
  • No Article 27 EU representative and no data protection officer are named, no support or legal email address is published (support runs through Intercom chat), and four different postal addresses coexist across the terms, the DPA, the contact page and the companies register
  • No mobile app, no browser extension, no public API and no interface language other than English; the site itself is imperfect, with every team member on the about page linking to the same LinkedIn profile (the CEO's) and only two of the eleven FAQ answers loading in static HTML
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

Screenloop publishes no pricing. No amount appears on any of the site's pages, and the /pricing URL returns a 308 redirect to the demo booking page, so a quotation is obtained only through a sales appointment; the pricing model is therefore contact-sales. No free plan and no free trial are advertised. The only commercial indication given is that choosing the ATS unlocks access to the whole Talent Ops Platform "at no extra cost". Two free calculators — cost per bad hire and cost per hire — are offered on the site as marketing resources and carry no price information.

No public pricing tiers
  • the site names no plan or package
  • publishes no rate card
  • and states only that choosing the ATS unlocks the full Talent Ops Platform at no extra cost. Pricing is quoted individually after a demo.
Prices and plans listed above may evolve. Always check the official pricing page before subscribing.

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Screenloop handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR implementation here is documented, not merely claimed. The applicable law declared is the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and EU Regulation 2016/679. A data processing addendum is published openly at /legal/data-processing-addendum rather than supplied on request; it carries the EU standard contractual clauses (Decision 2021/914) in Exhibit 1 and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in Exhibit 2. Annex III names eleven sub-processors, Screenloop commits to prior notice before engaging a new one, and declares itself responsible for their acts and omissions. The privacy policy details access, erasure, objection and portability rights, and openly discloses transfers outside the EEA. SOC 2 Type II compliance was audited by Prescient Assurance LLC. Two gaps remain: no Article 27 representative and no data protection officer are named, and no hosting country is stated. Privacy contact: privacy@screenloop.com.

Who owns the data?

Screenloop's terms and conditions keep ownership where it starts: clause 6.4 states that, as between the parties, the customer retains all rights, title and interest in its Customer Data. The customer grants Screenloop a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free licence for the term of the contract, limited to two uses — providing the service, and improving it for that customer's own use. Clause 6.5 is less symmetrical: metadata and usage data that Screenloop aggregates and renders non-identifying become Screenloop's property and remain usable after the contract ends, although the clause forbids identifying the customer publicly as the source.

Reuse rights

Customers keep their own data and may use it freely; the licence granted in the terms runs the other way, towards Screenloop, and is limited to providing and improving the service. On the processing side, Screenloop acts as a processor for candidate data and as a controller for its own website and marketing data. The declared purposes are recording and transcribing interviews, analysing them, producing hiring insights, coaching interviewers and reducing bias. Annex III of the data processing addendum names eleven sub-processors, each with an address and a purpose: OpenAI, described as "Chat GPT (Machine Learning)"; AssemblyAI for speech recognition and analytics on recordings; Affinda for CV parsing and blind hiring, described as processing data within Europe; Certn and Credence Background Screening for background checks; and AWS EMEA SARL in Luxembourg for hosting and processing interviews. The privacy policy adds that personal data is shared within the ScreenLoop Group, which involves transfers outside the European Economic Area. What the documentation never states is whether customer or candidate data is used to train AI models, and no training opt-out mechanism is documented anywhere on the site.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
No retention period is given in figures. The privacy policy states only that personal data is kept for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, including satisfying legal, accounting and reporting requirements. The criteria said to set that duration are the volume, nature and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm, the purposes of the processing and whether those purposes could be achieved otherwise, plus applicable legal obligations. Individuals can request erasure. Data may also be anonymised for research or statistical purposes, without notice to the individual. At the end of a contract, the data processing addendum provides for the return or destruction of the data, except where retention is legally required, in which case the data is isolated and protected from any further processing.

Hosting summary

No hosting country or region is stated for Screenloop itself. What the documents reveal is indirect. AWS EMEA SARL, a Luxembourg company trading as AWS Europe, appears in Annex III of the data processing addendum as the sub-processor that hosts and processes interviews, and Affinda, which handles CV parsing and blind hiring, is described as processing data within Europe. Against that, the privacy policy states that personal data is shared within the ScreenLoop Group and that this involves transferring data outside the European Economic Area. The DPA anticipates processing outside the UK and the EEA and frames it with the EU standard contractual clauses in Exhibit 1 and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in Exhibit 2. The public site resolves to an Amazon anycast address (35.71.142.77, AS16509), but that describes the marketing site's delivery network, not where customer data lives. Buyers with a data residency requirement should therefore ask in writing which regions hold interview recordings, transcripts and candidate records, because the site does not answer it.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Screenloop.

  • Screenloop records and transcribes job interviews. Candidate consent and a lawful basis must be checked under local law before the AI Notetaker is switched on, as recording rules vary from one country to another
  • The AI fills scorecards and sorts answers by attribute, which feeds a hiring decision. Bias and Article 22 of the GDPR on automated decision-making apply, and human judgement has to stay in the loop rather than rubber-stamping a generated summary
  • Under clause 6.5, aggregated anonymous data becomes the publisher's property and stays exploitable after the contract ends: worth negotiating before signing
  • Nothing is published about training AI models on customer data, while OpenAI is a declared sub-processor and no opt-out mechanism exists. A written commitment should be requested
  • Transfers outside the EEA are announced without any hosting country being specified, which makes a transfer impact assessment harder; no Article 27 representative and no data protection officer are named
  • Background checks process criminal record data, whose legal framework varies widely by country: running the same check everywhere is not safe by default
  • The absence of public pricing rules out any budgeting without a sales call, and four divergent postal addresses across the terms, the DPA, the contact page and the companies register make it harder to know which entity you are contracting with
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. Screenloop is a web SaaS with nothing to install, and the vendor drives the rollout through tailored, interactive onboarding sessions. The work is connective rather than technical: link calendars (Google Calendar, Office 365, Outlook, Exchange, iCloud), video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams), Slack and Gmail, then optionally an HRIS and an existing applicant tracking system. Migration is supported by a published ATS Transition Guide. No development skills are required, and there is no public API to integrate against. The site markets it as fast to set up, but gives no deployment timeframe.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Screenloop only an applicant tracking system?
No. The vendor describes it as more than an ATS: a unified hiring platform bringing together applicant tracking, AI interview insights, references, background checks, interviewer training and analytics, all in one place.
How much does Screenloop cost?
No price is published. The /pricing URL redirects to the demo booking page, so pricing is only given during a sales conversation.
Is there a free trial or a free plan?
Neither is advertised anywhere on the site. The demo booking is the only documented way in.
Who publishes Screenloop?
Screenloop Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 13406009, incorporated on 18 May 2021 and based in London.
What certifications does Screenloop hold?
SOC 2 Type II, audited by Prescient Assurance LLC and announced on the vendor's blog. No other certification is confirmed for Screenloop itself.
Is a data processing agreement available?
Yes. The DPA is published openly on the site and includes a named list of eleven sub-processors, the EU standard contractual clauses and a UK international transfer addendum.
Is my data used to train AI models?
The site does not say. OpenAI appears on the sub-processor list, described as "Chat GPT (Machine Learning)", and no training opt-out mechanism is documented.
Where is the data hosted?
No hosting country is stated. AWS EMEA SARL in Luxembourg is listed as the sub-processor that handles interviews, and the privacy policy announces transfers outside the EEA.
Which tools does Screenloop integrate with?
23 integrations are named, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Teamtailor, Ashby, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Gmail, BambooHR, HiBob and Personio, plus distribution to more than 3,000 job boards.
Is there a mobile app or a public API?
No. No iOS or Android application was found, and no public API documentation is published for customers.
Conclusion

Should you pick Screenloop?

Screenloop's proposition is easy to state: one platform instead of a stack of separate recruiting tools. An AI-native applicant tracking system sits at the centre, and interview intelligence, candidate surveys, references, background checks, interviewer training and analytics come with it, presented as included at no extra cost.

What supports it is unusually well documented for a young company. SOC 2 Type II compliance was audited by a named firm, Prescient Assurance LLC. The data processing addendum is published openly, names eleven sub-processors with their purposes, and provides both EU standard contractual clauses and a UK transfer addendum. Clause 6.4 leaves Customer Data with the customer, and the case studies name their subjects and quantify their results.

What weighs against it is opacity on three points. There is no public pricing at all: the pricing URL redirects to a demo booking, so no budget can be framed without a sales conversation, and no free plan or trial softens the entry. No hosting country or region is stated, while the privacy policy openly announces transfers outside the EEA. And nothing is published about whether customer or candidate data trains AI models, even though an AI provider sits on the sub-processor list and no opt-out is documented. Clause 6.5 also hands aggregated anonymous data to the publisher for good.

The buyer this fits is a lean in-house talent acquisition team at a startup or scale-up, willing to go through a sales appointment and to consolidate several subscriptions into one. Screenloop Ltd is a young British company, incorporated in May 2021 and backed by a $7m seed round. Teams with a strict data residency requirement, or a firm policy on AI model training, should get written answers before signing.
