Shortimize
Shortimize tracks and analyses short-form video performance across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Snapchat and X in one dashboard. It follows unlimited accounts, including competitors you do not own, and automates creator payouts.
What is Shortimize?
Shortimize is a short-form video analytics platform published by What Time Is It Inc., a company governed by Delaware law whose operating headquarters is announced in Lisbon, Portugal, with a team spread across eight time zones. Its domain was registered on 27 July 2024, which makes it a young product.
The platform covers six networks in a single dashboard: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter/X. Its central idea is that you can monitor any account, including accounts you do not own — a creator, a competitor or a brand — simply by pasting its URL, without ever connecting to that account. The number of tracked accounts is unlimited on every tier; what the plans meter is the volume of tracked video stored, from 1,000 on the entry plan to unlimited on Enterprise.
Refresh cadence is sold as the main differentiator, with data refreshed every 24, 12, 4 or 1 hour depending on the plan and the options bought. Around that core sit smart collections that populate themselves from a hashtag or keyword, outlier detection for sudden view spikes, real-time alerts pushed into Slack and Discord, and multi-seat access with customisable roles running from full admin to read-only, backed by SSO.
A second pillar is monetisation: Shortimize automates creator payouts and tax forms from a social account link. A third is integration, through Mixpanel, Amplitude and PostHog connectors plus a documented REST API, webhooks and an MCP server for AI assistants, all described on a public developer portal. A free Chrome extension starts tracking directly from the platforms themselves, and 45 free side tools — bio and caption generators, Instagram downloaders, blog-to-Reels and tweet-to-TikTok converters — are open without an account.
Commercially the company claims 99.9% uptime backed by an SLA, 24/7 support for enterprise customers, hundreds of client companies, and named testimonials from executives at Amo, Reclip, Airbuds, Bitesight, Playbite and Koodos. One advertised capability, auto-populating competitor collections, is still marked coming soon.

A quick filter to help you decide if Shortimize is the right fit.
When to use Shortimize
- Agencies running short-form video campaigns for several clients at once
- App founders and startup teams scaling creator-driven acquisition
- Social media managers who need a single dashboard across six platforms
- Growth and performance marketers benchmarking competitor accounts they do not own

When not to use Shortimize
- Solo creators on a tight budget: there is no permanent free plan and entry pricing is 99 USD per month
- Teams looking to edit or generate video, since Shortimize measures content rather than producing it

- Pick the refresh cadence your plan allows: 24, 12, 4 or 1 hour
- Connect Slack or Discord from the Integrations page to receive real-time alerts
- Invite teammates and assign roles, from full admin down to read-only

- Refresh rates going down to one hour
- REST API, webhooks and MCP server documented publicly, plus a free Chrome extension
- Creator payouts and tax forms handled inside the product
- 99.9% uptime with an SLA, SSO and 24/7 enterprise support, on a cancellable seven-day trial
Cons
- No permanent free plan: the entry ticket is 99 USD per month once the seven-day trial ends
- Subscriptions are explicitly non-refundable
- API, webhooks and MCP access are paid add-ons on the two lower tiers
- No data retention period is published anywhere on the site
- No hosting country or region is disclosed

Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. Access begins with a seven-day free trial, cancellable at any time, after which the cheapest paid tier, Launch, is billed at 99.00 USD per month on monthly billing. An annual commitment reduces that by 20%, which the pricing page advertises as plans starting at 79 USD per month. Enterprise pricing is quoted on request.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Shortimize handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR is claimed explicitly and in several places. The homepage promises GDPR compliance, the pricing page carries a Trusted & Compliant banner listing GDPR, SSO, 99.9% uptime and an SLA, and section 5 of the privacy policy is devoted to EU and EEA residents. It enumerates the rights to access, update or delete, to rectification, objection, restriction, portability and withdrawal of consent, all exercised by writing to support@shortimize.com, with identity verification possible and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The policy, dated 1 January 2025, adds CalOPPA and CCPA sections. What is missing matters as much: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is offered, no subprocessor list is published and no retention period is stated.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of service you keep every right to the content you submit, post or display through the service: the publisher explicitly claims no ownership over it, and equally accepts no responsibility for it. The service itself, its original content, its trademarks and its trade dress remain the exclusive property of What Time Is It Inc. The privacy policy narrows internal access sharply, stating that a customer account is opened in two situations only, to help with a problem the customer has reported or to resolve a software bug. Third-party service providers may process personal data on the publisher's behalf and are contractually barred from using it for anything else.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the agreement restricts what you do with the analytics Shortimize produces for you. You retain your rights over the content you submit, and no permission is required to reuse the metrics, exports or API responses drawn from your own account. The limits sit elsewhere. A login may be used by one person only, and a single seat shared across a team is forbidden. The publisher reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account used to circumvent a third-party platform's own terms of service, or to open repeated free trials. Reusing Shortimize's own trademarks or trade dress in connection with another product or service requires prior written consent.

Hosting summary
Shortimize publishes no hosting information at all. Neither the terms of service, nor the privacy policy, nor any trust or security page names a hosting country, a region, a data centre or an infrastructure provider. The only third parties identified anywhere are Hotjar, used for usage analytics, and Stripe, which handles all payment information; both are presented as processors acting on the publisher's behalf, not as hosts. Jurisdiction is easier to pin down than location: the terms are governed by the law of Delaware, United States of America, and the publisher, What Time Is It Inc., is a US entity, while its operating headquarters is announced in Lisbon, Portugal. That split indicates where disputes are settled, not where records sit. A lookup of the public IP behind the domain resolves to an anycast CDN node, which carries no information about where data is actually stored. Buyers with a data residency requirement should put the question to the publisher directly.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Shortimize.
- The seven-day trial renews automatically into a paid subscription unless you cancel, and nothing is refunded afterwards
- Video storage overages are billed at 10 USD per 1,000 videos, so costs can drift upward without an explicit decision
- API, webhooks and MCP are add-ons on the two lower tiers, which can turn an apparently sufficient plan into a costlier one
- No retention period is published, so you cannot know how long your tracked data and personal information are kept
- The publisher reserves the right to terminate accounts used to circumvent a third-party platform's terms of service: monitoring accounts you do not own remains your responsibility toward those platforms
- The minimum age of 13 appears only in the terms of service, a page that shows nothing but headings unless JavaScript runs
- Optimising solely for the metrics a dashboard surfaces can narrow editorial judgement, since chasing view spikes and outliers is not the same as building an audience
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low for everyday use. Tracking an account requires nothing more than pasting its URL, and a free Chrome extension shortens even that. Integrations with Slack, Discord, Mixpanel, Amplitude and PostHog are set up from Connect buttons on the Integrations page. There is nothing to install or host, since Shortimize is a hosted web application. Technical skill only becomes necessary for the developer surface: enabling API access in the settings, handling authentication keys, respecting the rate limits and wiring webhooks or the MCP server, which is work for a developer rather than a marketer.

Should you pick Shortimize?
Shortimize occupies a narrow, well-defined slot: it measures short-form video, it does not make it. Within that slot it is unusually complete. Unlimited account tracking on every paid tier, coverage of six networks including Snapchat and Facebook, the ability to follow accounts you do not own from a bare URL, refresh cadences down to one hour and a documented REST API with webhooks and an MCP server add up to a product built for teams operating at volume rather than for individuals experimenting. The creator payout module, tax forms included, is a genuine differentiator for anyone running an ambassador or UGC programme.
The price positions it accordingly. With no permanent free plan and an entry ticket of 99 USD per month, Shortimize asks for a budget that only makes sense once several accounts or several clients are in play. The seven-day trial is long enough to test that, but it renews automatically and subscriptions are not refundable, so the decision has to be made inside the window.
The weak point is transparency rather than product. GDPR compliance is advertised on the homepage and on the pricing page, and the privacy policy does set out the rights an EU resident can exercise. Yet no retention period is published, no hosting country or region is disclosed, no data processing agreement is offered, no subprocessor list exists and no Article 27 representative is designated. The legal pages are themselves hard to read: one returns an empty page without JavaScript, the other shows only its headings. For a procurement team that gap will weigh more than any feature.
Worth shortlisting for agencies, app founders and growth teams already running short-form at scale, provided they ask the publisher directly for the retention and hosting answers the site does not give.
