SiteSpeakAI
SiteSpeakAI turns your website, docs, PDFs and videos into a trained AI support agent that answers visitors in 95+ languages, captures leads, books meetings and hands complex conversations to your team. Installation takes a single line of code.
What is SiteSpeakAI?
SiteSpeakAI is a hosted platform for building conversational AI agents that live on a website. It is published by Espresso Dev (Pty) Ltd, a South African software studio that also runs SnapWidget and MentionScout. Its stated positioning is deliberately narrower than the word chatbot suggests: the agent is meant to answer and act. Training starts from material the business already owns, namely the site itself, sitemaps, help documentation, PDFs and videos, and extends through connectors to Notion, Confluence, Google Drive, OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint, BookStack and Moodle. Indexing begins with the first source and finishes within minutes for most sites; larger sites keep answering as pages are crawled. Sources resync automatically, monthly, weekly or daily depending on the plan. Once trained, the agent is embedded with a single line of code, or through ready-made connectors for Webflow, Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, BigCommerce, Framer, Bubble, Carrd, Showit, Weebly, Jimdo and GitHub Pages. It answers instantly, captures contact details mid-conversation without a form, books meetings through Cal.com, looks up orders and products with Shopify actions, and hands the conversation to a human with full context through the built-in inbox and live chat. Model choice is unusually open. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and xAI are all available, and customers on Pro and above can bring their own keys. Retrieval is backed by a Pinecone vector database, Cohere reranking, LlamaIndex parsing and ScrapingBee page rendering. Language handling needs no configuration at all: the agent detects the visitor's language and replies in it, across 95+ languages, from a knowledge base written in only one. Guardrails include a configurable fallback answer so the agent does not improvise, Prompt Guard, and PII redaction and an audit log on the higher tiers. Analytics report conversations, AI resolution rate, average response time, negative sentiment and knowledge gaps. The same agent also runs on Slack, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, an AI Search Bar, a Chrome extension and Raycast, and exposes a REST API and an MCP server. The vendor claims 1,000+ businesses across SaaS, e-commerce and agencies, and offers a white-label agency programme.
What it does
- Answer visitor questions around the clock from your own site content, help docs, PDFs and videos
- Capture qualified leads inside the conversation, with no form to fill in
- Escalate to a human with the full conversation context when a question needs one
- Take real actions through any REST API or MCP server, including booking meetings and looking up orders
- Reply automatically in the visitor's own language, across more than 95 languages
- Show what customers actually ask, where the agent fails, and which content gaps to close
- Run the same agent on Slack, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Chrome and Raycast
When to use SiteSpeakAI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if SiteSpeakAI is the right fit.
When to use SiteSpeakAI
- Support teams drowning in repetitive questions, who want front-line volume absorbed before it reaches a human
- Small businesses and agencies with no in-house developer, thanks to the no-code widget and one-line install
- Online stores needing a 24/7 shopping assistant able to look up orders and products through Shopify actions
- SaaS companies and documentation owners wanting an assistant trained on help centres, PDFs and knowledge bases
- Websites serving international visitors, since the agent detects and replies in 95+ languages with no extra setup
When not to use SiteSpeakAI
- Teams that need a native mobile app: no iOS or Android application is published
- Buyers who need API or MCP access on a small budget, since both start on the Pro plan at 79 USD per month
- Organisations requiring PII redaction or an audit log, which are reserved for the Growth and Business tiers
- Anyone who wants the option of a refund, as the terms of service exclude refunds entirely
- Companies that must know their vendor's exact postal address or incorporation date, neither of which is published
How to use SiteSpeakAI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Enter your website URL on the home page and create an account; no credit card is required
- Add your training sources: the site, a sitemap, help docs, PDFs, videos or a connected knowledge base
- Let indexing run. It starts with the first source and finishes in minutes for most sites
- Customise the widget: colours, logo, name, welcome message, suggested questions and personality
- Set the fallback answer used when the agent is unsure, so that it never invents a reply
- Turn on lead capture and configure escalation to your team
- Connect actions: REST APIs, an MCP server, Cal.com for bookings, Shopify for orders, HubSpot for the CRM
- Install with one line of code, the WordPress plugin, or your site builder's connector
- Monitor the inbox and analytics to see what visitors ask and where the answers fall short
- Close the content gaps you find, and let automatic source syncing keep the agent current
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Flat monthly pricing that does not scale with team size or per-conversation volume
- Explicit, unconditional commitment never to train any model on customer content or visitor conversations
- Unusually complete Trust Center: legal entity, registration number, and a subprocessor list giving each provider's country and transfer safeguard
- Public, signable DPA with Standard Contractual Clauses and a 48-hour breach notification commitment
- Open model choice across four providers, plus bring-your-own-key on Pro and above
- Permanent free plan, and a genuine 7-day trial on every paid tier with no card until it ends
- Forty-seven documented integrations, a REST API and an MCP server, installable in one line of code
Cons
- No postal address is published anywhere on the site, and no incorporation date either
- Refunds are excluded outright by the terms of service, whatever the circumstances
- API and MCP server access only begin on the Pro plan, at 79 USD per month
- The free plan is very tight: 30 message credits a month, one agent and ten training sources
- PII redaction and the audit log are reserved for the two most expensive tiers
- No mobile application on iOS or Android, and five advertised integrations are still marked Coming Soon
- The terms of service date from June 2023, name no legal entity, and sit three years behind the privacy policy
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free plan is available, limited to 30 message credits per month, one AI agent and ten training sources. The lowest paid entry point is the Starter plan at 29.00 USD per month when billed monthly, falling to 24 USD per month under an annual commitment. Every paid plan carries a 7-day free trial, and a payment card is required only once that trial has ended. Additional message credits are billed at 25 USD per 1,000. Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record, and no refunds are offered.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how SiteSpeakAI handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly rather than implied: the Trust Center states that SiteSpeakAI is GDPR compliant, and concrete instruments sit behind the claim. A signable Data Processing Agreement incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, Decision (EU) 2021/914, applying Module Two and Module Three, with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Swiss amendments where relevant. A subprocessor list is published naming each provider's country and transfer safeguard: EU-US Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision. Data subject rights are covered end to end, personal data breaches are notified to customers within 48 hours at no additional cost, and EEA and UK visitors are asked for cookie consent. UK GDPR, South Africa's POPIA and California's CCPA/CPRA are claimed as well. No Article 27 EU representative is named anywhere on the site.
Who owns the data?
Under the privacy policy, publisher Espresso Dev (Pty) Ltd acts in two distinct roles. It is the controller for account holders and for visitors to its own marketing site. For everything a customer feeds a chatbot, meaning the indexed content and the conversations that chatbot holds with website visitors, the customer remains the controller and Espresso Dev is only a processor acting on the customer's instructions under the published Data Processing Agreement. Customers choose what content is added and can delete it from the dashboard. When the contract ends, the vendor deletes or returns the data at the customer's choice, and confirms in writing on request. The company states that it does not sell personal data.
Reuse rights
Customers keep the right to use their own content and conversation records freely: nothing in the terms or in the Data Processing Agreement transfers ownership to the vendor, and exporting conversation history to CSV is a product feature rather than a favour. The vendor's own permitted uses are enumerated and bounded, each with a stated legal basis: running the service, processing payments, providing support, securing and improving the product, marketing where permitted, and meeting legal obligations. The decisive restriction is that neither customer content nor visitor conversations are used to train the vendor's models or any third party's, and the AI providers generating the answers are contractually barred from training on that data too. Reusing a visitor's personal data remains the customer's own responsibility, since it is the customer, not SiteSpeakAI, who is the controller of it.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Hosting, database and storage run on DigitalOcean in the United States; the vector database used for content search is Pinecone and the Redis cache is Upstash, both also in the United States. The publisher, Espresso Dev (Pty) Ltd, is established in South Africa, and the privacy policy states plainly that it and some of its subprocessors sit outside the EEA and the United Kingdom, in South Africa, the United States and Canada. Not every provider is American: Cohere is in Canada under an adequacy decision, Paddle and Pusher are in the United Kingdom, and ScrapingBee is in France. Each subprocessor's transfer safeguard is published individually, being either the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum where relevant, or an adequacy decision. Encryption in transit and at rest is claimed. No choice of hosting region is offered to the customer, so a European buyer with a data residency requirement should treat United States hosting as a given rather than a setting.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting SiteSpeakAI.
- An agent trained on your own content answers confidently from whatever is in it, outdated pages included. Content hygiene stops being an internal matter and becomes customer-facing
- Plan prices are rendered by JavaScript and absent from the static page; the amounts shown here were read from the site's structured data. Check the pricing page before committing
- The comparison pages quote competitor prices, such as Drift at 2,500 USD per month or Zendesk at 55 USD per agent. Those are not SiteSpeakAI's prices and are easy to misread
- The 4.8 out of 5 rating from 29 reviews is self-declared in the site's own structured data and cannot be verified independently
- Handing front-line support to an agent erodes a team's direct contact with its customers; the dashboard reports what was asked, never what was felt
- Visitor conversations are processed by third-party AI providers in the United States. Even with contractual safeguards, whatever a visitor types may leave your jurisdiction
- No postal address and no incorporation date are published, and the publisher's register is not publicly searchable, so recourse in a dispute is harder than usual to assess
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for the core product. The agent installs with one line of code, and ready-made connectors cover Webflow, Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, Framer, Bubble and a dozen other builders; training can be launched straight from a sitemap with no development work, and indexing finishes in minutes for most sites. The difficulty rises sharply only at the actions layer: wiring the agent to a REST API or an MCP server means handling endpoints, authentication keys and query quotas, and that part expects a developer.

Should you pick SiteSpeakAI?
SiteSpeakAI occupies a clear position in a crowded market: a website AI agent sold on flat monthly pricing rather than per agent or per conversation, and it competes explicitly on that basis against Zendesk, Intercom, Drift and Tidio on its own comparison pages. What sets it apart from most tools in the category is the seriousness of its documentation. The Trust Center names the legal entity, Espresso Dev (Pty) Ltd, gives its South African registration number, and publishes a full subprocessor table with the country and transfer safeguard for each provider. The Data Processing Agreement is public and signable, incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses, and commits to a 48-hour breach notification. The undertaking never to train any model on customer content or visitor conversations is stated without conditions and extends contractually to the AI providers. Few tools at this price point publish as much. The reservations are real but narrow. No postal address appears anywhere on the site, and no incorporation date is published; the South African register that would settle it is closed to anyone without a national identity number. Refunds are excluded outright. API and MCP access, which is what turns the product from a FAQ bot into an agent that acts, only begins at 79 USD per month. There is no mobile application, and the terms of service have not been revised since June 2023, three years behind the privacy policy. For a small or mid-sized team that wants to stop answering the same question, the free plan and the seven-day trial make the evaluation cheap. Anyone planning to lean on the actions layer should budget for the Pro tier from the outset, and should read the refund clause before committing.
