Input is deliberately broad. A deck can start from a topic or a prompt, from pasted text, from meeting notes or a script, or from an uploaded Word document, PDF or Google Doc; a document URL or an existing presentation can also serve as the source. Before anything is generated, the user sets the presentation type, the audience, the tone, the context and the design style, then reviews the proposed outline. Slides are built only once that outline is approved, which keeps the structure under human control.
After generation, individual slides can be rewritten, shortened, translated or regenerated with AI. Themes and layouts can be swapped, a Style Builder and custom themes carry brand rules, and fonts can be uploaded. Visuals come from AI generation or a stock library, alongside icons, charts with editable data and annotations, and Mermaid diagrams; animations and transitions are applied automatically at generation. Teams can co-edit in real time, leave comments, share a protected link or embed a deck in a web page.
The tool covers 22 languages and can translate a presentation, so a deck written in one language can be delivered in another. The publisher reports more than 14 million installs, over 3.7 million presentations created and a 4.3 rating on Google Workspace. A set of free utilities - PowerPoint compression, PDF, Word and HTML conversion, image extraction, merging and splitting - sits alongside the paid product.

GDPR overview
Compliance is claimed, but in only one place. An FAQ block on the home page states that content is processed securely, not stored permanently, never used to train the models, and that the company complies with GDPR and other privacy regulations. That sentence does not appear in the privacy policy, which was last updated on 10 May 2025 and never mentions the GDPR, data subject rights, a legal basis or a retention period. No EU representative under Article 27 is designated, no data processing agreement is offered, and no formal subprocessor list is published, although OpenAI is named as the only third party receiving content. Deletion is available on request at privacy@slidesai.io. The governing law is that of the United Arab Emirates.
Who owns the data?
The published documents keep user content with the user. SlidesAI states that it collects only an email address, used solely to authenticate access, and that this address is never shared with third parties. It also states that it does not sell user-generated data or personal information for commercial purposes. One processor is named: text submitted for generation is sent to OpenAI's servers, and the vendor states that no other data reaches OpenAI or anyone else. The QuickAnimate Chrome extension collects nothing, storing preferences locally on the device. Ownership of the decks produced is never addressed in the terms, which grant only a licence to use the software itself.
Reuse rights
The End User Licence Agreement grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use SlidesAI for personal or business presentation creation. Nothing in the published terms restricts what a user may do with the decks the tool produces: there is no clause reserving rights over generated output and no permission step before editing, presenting, distributing or commercialising a presentation. The restrictions run the other way, against the software. Users may not reverse engineer, modify, resell or redistribute the add-on, nor use it for illegal or unauthorised purposes, and all rights, title and interest in SlidesAI itself remain with the publisher.

Hosting summary
The vendor publishes no hosting location. Neither the privacy policy, the terms nor the help centre names a country, a region or a cloud provider for storage, so no hosting jurisdiction can be stated. What is documented is the processing path: text submitted for generation is sent to OpenAI's servers, and the vendor states that nothing else is shared with OpenAI or any other third party. Security is described in general terms - all communication runs over HTTPS, encrypting data in transit, and data is said to be encrypted at rest.
