Sloneek
Sloneek is an all-in-one HR system for European SMEs, covering recruitment, onboarding, documents, attendance, performance and people analytics. Its Sloneek Intelligence layer turns the entire HR stack into a single conversational AI agent, billed per active user.
What is Sloneek?
Sloneek is an all-in-one human resources information system published by Sloneek Europe s.r.o., a Slovak company based in Košice and incorporated in October 2020. It targets small and mid-sized European organisations that want to replace a patchwork of spreadsheets and disconnected tools with a single system of record covering the entire employee lifecycle.
The product is organised around six areas: Core HR, time management, performance management, people analytics, hiring and onboarding, and payroll and finance preparation. Core HR holds employee records with configurable fields, encrypted document storage, eIDAS-ready electronic signature, equipment and asset tracking, an organisational chart, a company wiki, a whistleblowing trust box and a holding structure for multi-entity groups. Time management covers start-stop time tracking, timesheets, absence management, an attendance system with GPS geolocation and a physical terminal, business trip planning, and billable client and project reporting. Performance management brings competency models, employee evaluations, KPIs and OKRs, and 360-degree feedback. The applicant tracking system adds AI shortlisting of candidates, bulk CV import and a talent pool, while workflows automate preboarding, onboarding and offboarding.
The AI layer is the current focus. Sloneek Intelligence turns the whole HR stack into a single conversational agent: instead of navigating menus, a user simply writes an instruction such as starting an exit interview, launching a pulse survey or creating an absence. The Terms confirm that AI functions are embedded across Sloneek Intelligence, time management, surveys, hiring and workflows, and the published sub-processor list shows the models come from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google Cloud. AI also generates tailored surveys, summarises their results and drafts document templates. This layer is currently offered as early access.
The service runs as a web application with genuine iOS and Android apps, an open API, Okta single sign-on and synchronisation with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory. Customer data is hosted on AWS in Frankfurt and contractually kept inside the European Union, and the vendor commits never to train AI models on it. The site is published in English, Czech, Slovak, Polish and Italian, and names Lindt, Volvo, Savills, Knight Frank, Carvago and Košík among its customers.

When to use Sloneek / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Sloneek is the right fit.
When to use Sloneek
- HR managers in European SMEs who run the whole employee lifecycle alone or in a two-person team
- Scale-ups replacing a patchwork of spreadsheets with a single system of record
- Companies with hybrid or distributed teams spread across several countries
- Operations and finance leads who need attendance and project time to feed payroll preparation
- Multi-entity groups needing a holding structure and consolidated people reporting
When not to use Sloneek
- Very small teams and freelancers, since billing starts at a contractual minimum of ten licences, used or not
- Buyers who need a published price list, as every pricing block routes to a sales quote
- Companies looking for full payroll calculation, because the module only prepares payroll inputs
- Anyone wanting a permanent free tier, which does not exist beyond the 14-day trial
- Developers expecting public API documentation, which is only shared on request
How to use Sloneek
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Start the 14-day free trial from the website; no credit card is required
- Alternatively book a demo or request a quote for a guided evaluation
- Import and synchronise your people from Google Workspace or Microsoft Active Directory
- Set up the organisational chart, contract types and configurable employee fields
- Use the onboarding portal and the knowledge base to configure each module
- Switch on the modules you need: Core HR, time, performance, surveys, ATS and workflows
- Connect calendars, Jira, Looker Studio or Okta single sign-on
- Roll out the mobile apps so employees can log time and request absences themselves
- Ask Sloneek Intelligence in plain language instead of navigating the menus
- Request a quote and move to a paid subscription before the trial period ends
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Broad functional coverage in a single subscription, with more than 100 features claimed
- Strong contractual commitment never to train AI models on customer data
- Customer data contractually kept within the European Union and hosted on AWS in Frankfurt
- Published Data Processing Agreement and a named, public list of sub-processors
- Genuine iOS and Android applications rather than a merely responsive website
- Fourteen-day trial with no credit card, and setup assistance included
- A Data Protection Officer is named and directly reachable
Cons
- No prices on the pricing page: every module routes to a sales quote
- Billing starts at a contractual minimum of ten licences, whether used or not
- Payment is annual in advance by default and explicitly non-refundable
- No permanent free plan once the 14-day trial has ended
- No public API documentation; access is granted through a contact form
- The ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications displayed belong to AWS, not to Sloneek
- Sloneek Intelligence is still offered as early access rather than generally available
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan; the only free access is a 14-day trial that requires no credit card. The lowest published entry point is EUR 6.00 per active user per month. That figure appears only in the comparison tables on the site and not on the pricing page itself, where every module routes to a quote request. A contractual minimum of ten licences applies whether or not they are used, so the effective floor is approximately EUR 60 per month, exclusive of VAT. Payment is annual in advance by default, and monthly billing is accepted by payment card only.
- Essential — tier named in the site's return-on-investment calculator

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Sloneek handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is documented rather than merely declared. The security page states that Sloneek is fully compliant with Regulation (EU) 2016/679. A Data Protection Officer is appointed under Article 37 and reachable at jan.verespej@sloneek.com. A Data Processing Agreement is published, together with a named list of sub-processors including HubSpot, Zendesk, Stripe, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Google Cloud and OpenAI. Processing happens primarily in the EU and EEA; where partners process data in the United States, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses apply. The supervisory authority named is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic. One inconsistency deserves note: the security page cites Czech Act No. 110/2019 while the DPA cites Slovak Act No. 18/2018.
Who owns the data?
Under the Terms & Conditions, the customer retains all rights to Customer Data as between the parties. Sloneek Europe s.r.o. acts as processor and the client company as controller. The provider may access data only to deliver, operate, maintain and secure the service, provide support, follow documented instructions, comply with the law and investigate security incidents, and it undertakes not to sell Customer Data. Customers may export their data at any time during an active subscription, but access to the service and to the stored data ceases immediately once the licence expires or is terminated, so any export must be taken before the contract ends.
Reuse rights
Customer Data stays under the customer's control and can be reused freely for the customer's own purposes, subject to its own obligations as data controller. On the provider's side reuse is tightly bounded: access is limited to delivering, operating, securing and supporting the service, following documented instructions, meeting legal obligations and handling security incidents. Sloneek states it does not sell Customer Data and, under clause 11.1, never uses it to train, retrain or improve AI models; third-party AI providers are reached only through enterprise or API environments that forbid training on that data. Marketing messages, analytics and advertising cookies rest on separate consent that can be withdrawn at any time.

Hosting summary
Customer data is hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure with servers in Frankfurt, Germany; the sub-processor is named as Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL. Video calls run on Contabo bare metal servers, also in Germany. The Terms commit the provider to keeping all customer data within European Union member states, except where required by law or agreed with the customer. The privacy policy states that processing takes place primarily in the EU and EEA with no active transfers to third countries; where partners process data in the United States, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses apply. Operational measures listed include daily backups, HTTPS/SSL 256-bit transport security, 24/7 availability monitoring and an announced 99.999% availability. The ISO 27001, SOC 2 and SOC 3 certifications referenced are those of AWS. Note that the public website is served through Cloudflare, whose anycast address geolocates to the United States: that is the content delivery network, not the place where customer data is stored.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Sloneek.
- AI outputs must not be the sole basis for hiring, pay, disciplinary or termination decisions; the Terms themselves require human review
- The ISO 27001, SOC 2 and SOC 3 certifications shown on the security page belong to AWS, the hosting provider, not to Sloneek
- Access to your data is cut off immediately when the licence expires, so exports must be taken before the contract ends
- The non-training commitment is contractual and qualified by "unless agreed otherwise", not an absolute technical guarantee
- Concentrating employee records, attendance, GPS location and performance data in one system raises real surveillance and proportionality questions
- Delegating routine HR judgement to an AI agent can gradually erode a team's own grasp of its people data
- The security page cites Czech law although the publisher is Slovak, and the legal documents carry an effective date later than their publication
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Sloneek is a cloud service with nothing to install: the trial opens immediately with access to all functions, and setup and onboarding assistance is included. Users can be imported and synchronised from Google Workspace or Microsoft Active Directory, and Okta handles single sign-on. An onboarding portal and a knowledge base support configuration. One published case study reports a full rollout in one month with no external help and no onboarding fee, while a customer review describes going live in a few hours. Integrations are presented as a few clicks thanks to the open API.

Should you pick Sloneek?
Sloneek is a credible all-in-one HR system for European small and mid-sized companies, and one of the few in its class to put a conversational AI agent at the centre rather than bolting AI onto the edges. Its functional breadth is genuine: records, documents with eIDAS-ready signature, attendance, absences, project time, performance, surveys and applicant tracking all sit in one subscription, reachable from web and mobile.
Its strongest argument is contractual rather than technical. The Terms commit the vendor never to use customer data to train or improve AI models, extend that obligation to the third-party providers behind the AI features, and keep customer data inside the European Union. A Data Processing Agreement and a named sub-processor list are published, a Data Protection Officer is identified, and hosting sits on AWS in Frankfurt. For a system that by nature concentrates sensitive employee data, that posture matters more than a feature count.
The main reservation is commercial transparency. The pricing page carries no figures at all, and the only published rate, six euros per active user per month, appears in comparison tables. A contractual minimum of ten licences, annual payment in advance and a non-refundable policy mean the real commitment is larger than the headline figure suggests. Buyers should also read the security page closely: the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications displayed there belong to AWS, not to Sloneek.
Prospective users should treat the AI as an assistant rather than an authority. The vendor's own Terms require human review of AI outputs and forbid using them as the sole basis for hiring, pay or termination decisions, which is sound guidance to build into internal processes. With venture backing and European expansion under way, Sloneek is best evaluated through its free trial and a direct quote.
