Talvio
Talvio is a French HR analytics platform that turns payroll exports from Excel or CSV into ready-made dashboards. It computes more than 20 workforce KPIs, layers AI-generated insights on top, and benchmarks each figure against DARES and INSEE sector medians.
What is Talvio?
Talvio is a French software-as-a-service platform for HR analytics, published from France and available in French only. Its promise, stated on the homepage, is to make HR data readable: you export figures from the payroll system you already use — Silae, Sage, Cegid, ADP or PayFit — or simply upload a spreadsheet, and Talvio returns a set of dashboards. The vendor advertises two minutes from raw file to first dashboard, and forty-eight hours to be fully operational.
What it is not matters as much as what it is. Talvio does not run payroll and is not an HRIS. It describes itself as a pure analytics overlay that sits on top of existing tools instead of replacing them, which also explains the absence of connectors: the data path is an export followed by an import.
The engine computes more than 20 indicators: headcount and full-time equivalents, turnover broken into entry, exit and overall rates, absenteeism by rate, average duration and distribution, gross and loaded payroll with average cost per FTE, price/volume/mix effects, age and seniority pyramids, gender split, and permanent-versus-fixed-term ratios.
Its most distinctive feature is sector benchmarking. Rather than showing figures in isolation, Talvio compares them with published French reference data: DARES sector medians for turnover, INSEE national medians for absenteeism, and a WTW benchmark for employer cost, covering nine indicators on 2024-2025 vintages. The vendor claims this is unique on its market.
An AI layer, marketed as IA Insights & Alertes, detects anomalies, risks and trends and proposes actions; a monthly AI report comes with the two upper plans. A Vision Builder assembles bespoke reports by drag and drop for board presentations, and everything exports to PDF or Excel, brandable with the client's logo. Multi-site customers get from one establishment on the entry plan to unlimited on the top one, with a consolidated group view.
The stated audience is HR directors, HR managers, CFOs and management controllers at French SMEs and mid-caps. The product is young: the domain dates from October 2025, the business was registered in April 2026, and the demo dashboard is labelled version 1.0.

When to use Talvio / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Talvio is the right fit.
When to use Talvio
- HR directors and HR managers at French SMEs and mid-caps who still build their monthly reporting by hand in Excel
- CFOs and management controllers who need payroll-cost analysis: gross and loaded payroll, cost per FTE, price/volume/mix effects
- HR teams with no HRIS analytics module and no in-house BI skills, since the tool is explicitly built for HR professionals rather than data scientists
- Multi-site organisations that must consolidate several establishments into a single group view
- Accounting firms and HR consultancies, which Talvio courts through a partner programme paying a recurring commission on referred subscriptions
When not to use Talvio
- Anyone looking for payroll software: Talvio explicitly does not run payroll and sits as a layer on top of an existing system
- Companies wanting a full HRIS, since the vendor positions the product as pure analytics that adds to your tools rather than replacing them
- Teams expecting automatic connectors or an API, because feeding the tool means exporting a file and importing it by hand
- Organisations outside France, given the French-only interface and benchmarks built on French public statistics
- Users who need a mobile app, a browser extension or a permanently free tier, none of which exist
How to use Talvio
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Explore the live demo dashboard first, which runs on fictional data and needs no account, or watch the three-minute demo video
- Start the 30-day free trial from the demo page; no bank card is requested
- Wait for the account to be set up, which the vendor commits to within 48 hours
- Download the supplied Excel template, which comes with five pre-formatted tabs, pre-named columns and sample rows
- Fill the EMPLOYES tab, one row per employee per month: employee ID, period always dated to the first of the month, contract type, working time, entry and exit dates, gender, and establishment code if you run several sites
- Fill the REMUNERATION tab with monthly base salary in euros without a currency symbol, plus optional bonuses and employer contributions
- Fill the ABSENCES tab, one row per absence, making sure each absence label matches the REFERENTIEL_ABSENCES tab exactly
- Optionally complete REFERENTIEL_ORGANISATION to describe sites, cost centres, divisions and departments
- Drag and drop the finished file into the import screen and let the automatic validation flag any format errors
- Read the generated KPIs, build custom views in the Vision Builder, then export to PDF or Excel for your board pack
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Sector benchmarking anchored in named public French sources (DARES, INSEE) rather than in vendor-held data
- Flat all-inclusive pricing with no setup fee and no per-employee charge, unlike the HRIS products it compares itself with
- A 30-day trial without a bank card, and a demo dashboard you can explore without even creating an account
- Customer data stored in France, on AWS in the Paris region through Supabase, with subprocessors named publicly
- No technical skill or training required, and a stated 48-hour time to operation
- A public, genuinely detailed import guide with a supplied template and a column-by-column data schema
- Data ownership left with the customer, export available at any time, and cancellation without commitment
Cons
- The site publishes several contradictory price lists at once: the pricing page shows one grid while the FAQ, the terms and the llms.txt file still describe an earlier generation of plans at different rates
- Plan names differ from page to page, the pricing page naming four tiers that the terms of use and the FAQ do not use
- A very young and very small publisher: a sole trader registered in April 2026, with no employees on the register
- No public API and no automatic connector, so every refresh means exporting and re-importing a file by hand
- No security certification of its own; the only certification quoted on the site, PCI DSS, belongs to its payment processor
- No data processing agreement published or offered, for a tool that handles employee data on its customers' behalf
- The advertised resource centre is empty, with all six announced guides marked as coming soon
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanently free plan. Talvio offers a 30-day free trial with full access to the chosen plan and no bank card required, after which a paid subscription is necessary. All prices are quoted in euros excluding tax. The lowest paid entry point is the Solo plan at 119.00 EUR excluding tax per month on monthly billing, covering up to 100 employees. Annual billing carries a 15% discount, bringing the same plan to 101 EUR excluding tax per month, invoiced as 1,212 EUR excluding tax per year; the pricing page defaults to this annual view. There is no setup fee and no charge per additional user within a plan's limits. Payment is taken by card through Stripe.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Talvio handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR coverage is explicit and reasonably detailed for a young vendor. The controller is named — Ashraf Rach, a sole trader in Poissy — with a postal address and a single contact address. The privacy policy, dated February 2026, sets out data categories, purposes, legal bases under Articles 6.1.a to 6.1.f, retention periods per category, a named list of subprocessors, and the six data-subject rights, with a thirty-day response commitment. The CNIL is designated as the supervisory authority for complaints. Security measures are itemised: TLS 1.3, AES-256 at rest, row-level security, daily backups, access logging. Two gaps stand out: no data processing agreement is published or offered, and no DPO is appointed. No Article 27 representative is needed, the controller being established in France.
Who owns the data?
The terms of use are unambiguous: the customer keeps ownership of everything they import, and Talvio acquires no property right over that data. Customers can export at any time, and after cancellation the files are held for thirty days before permanent deletion. The vendor undertakes not to use customer data for commercial, advertising or resale purposes, and the privacy policy repeats that data is never sold or rented. Access is restricted to authorised users at the client company; the technical team says it only reaches the data for support, with the customer's agreement. One inconsistency deserves attention: the legal notice claims no individually identifying employee data is stored, while the privacy policy lists names, birth dates and pay among the imported fields.
Reuse rights
Customers remain free to reuse their own data without asking Talvio for permission: export to PDF and Excel is a advertised feature of every plan, reports can be branded with the client's own logo, and the terms grant an unrestricted right to export at any time. On the vendor's side, the declared purposes are narrow: running the service itself, managing the customer relationship and billing, improving the product through anonymised usage analysis, and meeting accounting obligations. The legal bases cited are contract performance, consent for analytics cookies and marketing, legitimate interest, and legal obligation. Four subprocessors are named — Vercel, Supabase, Stripe and Google Analytics — none of which, the policy states, may access the content of HR files for their own ends. Nowhere does the site address whether customer data feeds AI model training.

Hosting summary
Hosting is split between two providers and documented in the legal notice. The application runs on Vercel Inc., a United States company based in Covina, California, with its server region declared as Europe (eu-west). User data proper — accounts, aggregated HR data and snapshots — is stored and processed in France, in Paris, through Supabase; Supabase Inc. is headquartered in Singapore, but the underlying infrastructure is Amazon Web Services in the eu-west-3 Paris region. The legal notice states flatly that data is not transferred outside the European Union, and French hosting is used as a selling point on the homepage and the partner page. The privacy policy is more cautious, saying data stays on European servers "where that option is available", and noting that the American subprocessors — Vercel, Supabase and Stripe — rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The FAQ gives a looser version again, describing hosting simply as European. The three formulations are worth reading together rather than taking any one at face value.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Talvio.
- Several contradictory price lists are live at the same time: the pricing page, the FAQ, the terms of use and the llms.txt file each quote a different set of plans and rates, so confirm the current figure before budgeting
- The homepage structured data advertises a 4.8 rating from 52 reviews, yet no customer review is published anywhere on the site; the testimonials themselves carry only a first name and an initial and cannot be verified
- The return-on-investment figures shown across the site are simulations running on the vendor's own stated assumptions, not measured customer outcomes, and the site itself notes the three savings scenarios are not cumulative
- The only certification named on the site, PCI DSS, belongs to the payment processor rather than to Talvio, which claims no certification of its own
- The legal notice and the privacy policy contradict each other on what is stored: one says no individually identifying employee data is kept, the other lists names, birth dates and pay among the imported fields
- Benchmarks and AI recommendations are decision aids, not advice; the terms disclaim any legal, financial or HR counsel and leave the user solely responsible for decisions taken on them, which matters when the outputs concern real employees
- At least three unrelated live products trade under the name Talvio — an AI receptionist, a restaurant point-of-sale system and a resume builder — so check the domain before signing anything
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Nothing to configure and no technical skill needed: the vendor markets the product as no-code, built for HR professionals rather than data scientists. Import is drag and drop, an Excel template with pre-named columns and sample rows is supplied, and automatic validation flags format errors. Setup is advertised at 48 hours, the first dashboard two minutes after import. The one real constraint is respecting the template: tab and column names must not change, periods must be dated to the first of the month, and absence labels must match the reference tab exactly.

Should you pick Talvio?
Talvio occupies a narrow but sensible niche: ready-made HR analytics for French SMEs and mid-caps that have neither an analytics module in their HRIS nor a business-intelligence specialist on staff. Its real differentiator is not the AI layer, which most competitors also claim, but the sector benchmarking built on named public French sources — DARES and INSEE — which turns an isolated turnover figure into a comparison an HR director can defend in front of a board. The commercial model is easy to read: a flat all-inclusive fee, no setup charge, no per-employee billing, and a 30-day trial that does not ask for a card. The published import guide is unusually thorough for this market, and the decision to leave data ownership with the customer is stated without hedging.
The reservations are just as clear. The publisher is a sole trader registered in April 2026, with no track record and a product still labelled version 1.0. Documentation quality does not match the product ambition: several generations of prices and plan names coexist on the live site, the announced resource centre is entirely empty, and the structured data on the homepage advertises an aggregate rating of 4.8 from 52 reviews when no review is published anywhere. On compliance, the GDPR groundwork is genuinely done — named controller, itemised retention periods, published subprocessor list, French hosting — but there is no data processing agreement and no certification of the vendor's own, which matters for a tool that handles employee records on its customers' behalf.
For a small HR team drowning in spreadsheets, the trial costs nothing and the entry ticket is modest. Check the pricing page yourself before committing, and ask for a processing agreement in writing.
