What is Testudy?
Testudy is an AI learning platform that turns a stated intention into a working course. You type what you want to learn, whether a topic, a goal or a skill gap, and the system drafts a structured course around it, optionally shaped by PDFs, web links, videos or playlists you supply.
What separates it from a straightforward content generator is the syllabus-first workflow. Before anything is written at length, Testudy proposes a plan of units, lessons and micro-lessons in sequence, scoped to your level. You review and confirm that plan, and it then governs the order of generation and your progression through the material.
Study Mode walks you through the course in syllabus order and keeps track of where you stopped. Assessments sit alongside it, measuring what you already know, scoring you topic by topic and pointing to the weak areas worth revisiting; guests can take assessments on supported public courses without an account. Reinforcement comes from several directions at once: interactive quizzes, flashcards, coding exercises and scenario practice, a spaced-repetition schedule that resurfaces whatever you tend to forget, a knowledge graph that visualises mastery per concept, and a course-aware AI Assistant that answers questions in the context of what you are currently studying. Podcast Mode narrates the material as audio for revision away from a screen.
A Discover catalogue holds public courses built by other users, which can be opened, assessed or remixed into your own editable copy. A separate Learning Plan Architect addresses training strategy across four tracks, aimed at solo learners, course creators, curriculum designers and L&D professionals, while six solution pages target students, professionals, lifelong learners, educators, business teams and AI upskilling.
Two caveats belong in any description. Testudy openly labels itself an alpha, an early preview with beta as the declared next step, so its scope may still move. And it is the successor to Quizbot: quizbot.io now redirects here, and former accounts migrate only on request. The publisher is EF Tech Ltd, a UK company registered under number 14986456 in Bradford.

GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed explicitly. The privacy policy, effective 26 February 2026, names EF Tech Ltd as controller under the UK GDPR and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, and sets out its lawful bases: contract, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligation and vital interests. It lists rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, exercised through admin@testudy.io, with the ICO named as the UK supervisory authority and local authorities for the EEA. International transfers are said to rely on contractual safeguards. Two gaps matter: no Article 27 representative is designated even though the controller sits outside the EU, and no Data Processing Agreement is published or offered. No security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is mentioned anywhere.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms, you keep ownership of the content you submit, subject to any third-party rights in it. Submitting content grants EF Tech Ltd a licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt and use that content as far as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, improve and promote the service. The platform itself, including its software, design, branding and trademarks, belongs to EF Tech Ltd. Anything published publicly may be visible to other users and to third parties, and the company may remove, edit or disable content it reasonably believes breaches the terms. The licence granted is broad, but it stops short of transferring ownership of your material.
Reuse rights
Your own submissions remain yours, so you may reuse them freely. The platform's material is a different matter: you receive only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the service for personal or internal business purposes. Copying, republishing, redistributing, reverse engineering, reselling or otherwise commercially exploiting the service or its materials requires prior written consent, except where the law permits it. Community courses in the Discover catalogue can be turned into your own editable copy through the built-in Remix function. Personal data is processed to operate, bill, secure and improve the service, with named providers including Stripe, Google Analytics, PostHog and Brevo. Neither document states whether submitted content is used to train AI models.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
The privacy policy addresses jurisdiction rather than infrastructure. EF Tech Ltd is a UK company and states that personal data may be processed in the United Kingdom and in the other countries where its providers operate; accessing the service from abroad implies that processing. Some providers are said to process data outside the UK, and international transfers are described as covered by contractual safeguards or equivalent lawful mechanisms. No specific hosting country beyond the United Kingdom is named, no data centre or region is identified, and no hosting certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is mentioned. The named processors are Stripe, Google Analytics, PostHog and Brevo, alongside social login providers and unnamed hosting and cloud suppliers. One technical observation sits outside those claims and should not be confused with them: the domain resolves to an address operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Helsinki, Finland. That is a network measurement taken during this review, not a statement by the publisher, and it does not establish where user data is stored.

Testudy answers a narrow but real problem: the distance between deciding to learn something and having usable material in front of you. Its syllabus-first design is the part worth noting. By proposing a plan and asking you to confirm it before generating at length, it avoids the shapeless output that makes many AI content tools tiring to use. Around that sit the study aids you would expect and a few you might not: assessments that score by topic, spaced repetition, a knowledge graph, a course-aware assistant and an audio mode.
It is also, by its own admission, an alpha. The publisher says so on a dedicated page and places beta at the next milestone, which means the feature set, and even the product's relationship to its sibling application, are still open questions. Anyone adopting it for teaching or team training should plan for movement.
