Validio positions itself as an agentic data management platform, bringing data quality, observability, lineage and cataloging together in a single product under the banner Data trust and transparency in the AI era. Where most tools in this category read metadata only, Validio validates the actual values inside the data — a distinction the vendor repeats throughout its FAQ, and the reason it can surface problems hidden inside segments that global trends smooth over.
The product is organised around four stages. Discover profiles assets and adds LLM-powered semantic search. Configure lets agents recommend the monitors worth putting in place. Monitor runs machine-learning anomaly detection with thresholds that follow trend and seasonality. Resolve uses lineage to drive agentic root cause analysis, grouping related incidents and measuring downstream impact.
It handles structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, validating nested JSON at any depth, and connects to streams (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub), warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, Databricks, Teradata), lakes (S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Data Lake), databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, ClickHouse), transformation tools (dbt, Airflow) and BI platforms (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sigma, Omni). Teams work through a no-code interface, or through a full SDK, a CLI and infrastructure-as-code; a GraphQL API, an MCP server and a Chrome and Edge browser extension that sits beside BI dashboards complete the surface.
Two deployment models are offered: a solution managed by Validio in the cloud and region the customer picks (GCP, AWS or Azure), or a fully self-hosted VPC installation where no data leaves the customer's environment. Either way queries are pushed down and, as the FAQ puts it, Validio processes only metrics and aggregate values and does not store raw data after processing.
The vendor claims detection 120x faster, more than 100 million records per minute and up to 95% less manual work, and names Nordea, Canva, SEB, Truecaller, Surfshark and AllianceBernstein among its customers. Founded in Stockholm in 2019 by Patrik Liu Tran, Validio holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications and targets BCBS 239, EU AI Act, GDPR and SOX use cases.

GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete and documented. Validio AB (Reg. No. 559192-3049, Stockholm) is the controller for the website and, being established in the EU, requires no Article 27 representative. A data processing addendum is published openly and incorporated into the contract by reference, and the list of third-party sub-processors is available as a dated PDF, last updated on 20/04/2026, alongside a sign-up page for change notifications. Data subject rights — access, copy, rectification, erasure, withdrawal of consent, objection, restriction and portability — are exercised through privacy@validio.io, and the supervisory authority named is the Swedish IMY. Transfers outside the EU/EEA are covered by standard contractual clauses. The privacy policy was published on 12/02/2021 and last updated on 23/04/2026. Validio additionally claims ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance, and its addendum extends to CCPA, VCDPA, CPA, UCPA and CPDPA.
Who owns the data?
Under clause 11.1 of the general terms and conditions, the customer retains and owns all right, title and interest in its Customer Data, granting Validio only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for the term of the agreement so that it can deliver the service. Clause 11.3 states that Validio provides no backup service, and clause 11.2 that data stays in the hosting location named in the order. Aggregated Statistics derived from operating the service, however, belong to Validio under clause 9. On termination the customer may download and delete its data during the notice period, after which Validio destroys it with no recovery possible. The data processing addendum adds deletion or return of personal data on the customer's written instruction, and forbids selling or sharing it.
Reuse rights
The customer may reuse its own data freely, since ownership never transfers. Validio's own use is deliberately narrow. Queries are pushed down into the customer's warehouse and only the computed result comes back, so raw tables and rows stay where they are; a handful of features (sampling, incident debugging, filter previews) display raw rows transiently, without ever writing them to a Validio database. The page dedicated to AI states plainly that Your data is never used to train models — the anomaly models do keep retraining, but on the customer's own historical data and feedback. Agents and the MCP server can run on the customer's own LLM credentials (Anthropic, OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock), while other AI functions rely on proprietary Validio models. Clause 13.1 allows Validio to use performance and usage data to fix bugs and improve the service. Website data — name, email, IP address, browser language, geolocation, pages viewed — is processed on the basis of legitimate interest to operate and improve the site and for direct marketing. No personal data is sold, and transfers outside the EU/EEA rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Hosting summary
Validio offers two hosting models. In the managed solution, Validio hosts the platform with the cloud provider and in the region the customer chooses — GCP, AWS or Azure, in any region generally available from those providers. In a Secure VPC deployment the platform is installed inside the customer's own virtual private cloud, and Validio has access to neither the raw data nor the logs; nothing leaves the customer's environment. The documentation states that both models allow a specific region to be selected in order to meet local data residency requirements, but no default country or region is named anywhere: residency is a contractual choice, not a published value. The sub-processor list identifies Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure as infrastructure providers, all marked as chosen by the customer, with Google Cloud Platform always involved in processing; platform and operations sub-processors sit in the US or the EU. Transfers outside the EU/EEA are covered by standard contractual clauses. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and TLS is authenticated against a customer-supplied certificate authority on Oracle, SAP IQ and Progress OpenEdge.

Validio is an enterprise product rather than a tool you try on a whim. Behind it sits a Swedish company founded in Stockholm in 2019 and funded to the tune of USD 47 million, deliberately positioned on the enterprise and regulated segment: the demo form, the selective trial and the absence of self-service sign-up all say so.
Its strongest technical arguments are the Secure VPC deployment and the query push-down. Together they mean raw rows never have to leave the customer's environment, which is precisely the objection that stalls data quality projects in banking, insurance or healthcare. Around them the coverage is unusually broad for a single product: quality, observability, field-level lineage and cataloging, on batch and streaming alike, across a stack that takes in Oracle, Db2 and Teradata as readily as Snowflake or Kafka.
Legal transparency is well above average. The data processing addendum is public, the sub-processor list is dated and published, and the documentation gives numeric retention periods per data type and per deployment model — three things most vendors in this category make you ask for.
Pricing transparency is the exact opposite. Not a single figure is published, the pricing page describes only the variables that drive the quote, and every route to a number runs through a salesperson. Prospects should also read the commercial terms closely: automatic renewal on 30 days' notice, no backup service, Validio's ownership of the Aggregated Statistics derived from usage, and an audit clause.
The honest verdict is that Validio deserves evaluation if you run complex pipelines under regulatory pressure and can budget for an enterprise contract, and that a real evaluation only begins with the demo or the 14-day trial, both of which run through a form.
